Description
【0001】

[0015]
[2] Description of writing margin mode
This digital copying machine is provided with a writing margin mode capable of creating a space (writing margin portion) in which a comment can be written on a copied sheet as a copying mode.
[0016]
The writing margin mode is roughly divided into a first writing margin mode for creating a writing margin portion when one original image is copied on one sheet, and two original images are copied on one sheet. In some cases, there is a second writing margin mode for creating a writing margin portion.
[0017]
In the first writing margin mode, there are four types of layouts as shown in FIGS.
[0018]
FIG. 2A shows a layout in which a vertically long original image is printed on the left half of a horizontally long recording sheet (referred to as a first vertically long image layout). FIG. 2B shows a layout in which a horizontally long original image is printed on the upper half of a vertically long recording sheet (referred to as a first horizontally long image layout). FIG. 2C shows a layout in which a vertically long document image is printed on the right half of a horizontally long recording sheet (referred to as a vertically long image second layout). FIG. 2D shows a layout for printing a horizontally long original image on the lower half of a vertically long recording sheet (referred to as a horizontally long image second layout).
[0019]
In the first writing margin mode, it is possible to select whether or not to insert a page break line at a position indicated by a broken line in FIGS. When a page break line is inserted, the line type (solid line or dotted line) can be selected. In the first writing margin mode, the page break line is placed at the boundary position between the document image and the writing margin portion.
[0020]
Furthermore, it is possible to select whether or not to put ruled lines in the write margin. When ruled lines are inserted, horizontal ruled lines and vertical ruled lines can be selected. FIGS. 3A to 3D show ruled lines printed on the writing margin when the horizontal ruled line is selected, and FIGS. 4A to 4D show the writing margin when the vertical ruled line is selected. The ruled lines to be printed are shown in FIG.
[0021]
In the second writing margin mode, there are eight types of layouts as shown in FIGS. Of the two original images, the original image read first is the first original image, and the original image read next is the second original image. In addition, the four parts obtained by dividing the recording sheet by 1/2 both vertically and horizontally will be referred to as 4 divided parts.
[0022]
FIG. 5A shows a vertically long first original image printed on the upper left of the four divided portions of the vertically long recording paper, and a vertically long second original image is printed on the upper right of the four divided portions of the recording paper. Is a layout (referred to as a first portrait image layout). FIG. 5B illustrates a case where the first landscape image is printed on the upper left of the four divided portions of the horizontally long recording paper, and the second landscape image is printed on the upper right of the four divided portions of the recording paper. Is a layout (referred to as a first layout for landscape images).
[0023]
FIG. 5C shows a vertically long first document image printed on the upper right of the four divided portions of the vertically long recording paper, and a vertically long second original image printed on the upper left of the four divided portions of the recording paper. (For example, a second layout for a portrait image). FIG. 5D shows a horizontally long first original image printed on the upper right of the four divided portions of the horizontally long recording paper, and a horizontally long second original image printed on the upper left of the four divided portions of the recording paper. Is a layout (referred to as a second layout for landscape images).
[0024]
FIG. 5 (e) shows a vertically long first original image printed on the upper left of the four divided portions of the vertically long recording paper, and a vertically long second original image printed on the lower left of the four divided portions of the recording paper. Is a layout (referred to as a third layout for vertically long images). FIG. 5 (f) shows that a horizontally long first original image is printed on the upper left of the four divided portions of the horizontally long recording paper, and a horizontally long second original image is printed on the lower left of the four divided portions of the recording paper. Is a layout (referred to as a third layout for landscape images).
[0025]
FIG. 5 (g) shows that a vertically long first original image is printed on the upper right of the four divided portions of the vertically long recording paper, and a vertically long second original image is printed on the right of the four divided portions of the recording paper. This is a layout to be printed below (referred to as a fourth portrait image layout). FIG. 5 (h) shows that a horizontally long first original image is printed on the upper right of the four divided portions of the horizontally long recording paper, and a horizontally long second original image is printed on the right of the four divided portions of the recording paper. This is a layout to be printed below (referred to as a fourth layout for landscape images).
[0026]
Further, in the second writing margin mode, it is possible to select whether or not to insert a page break line at a position indicated by a broken line in FIGS. When inserting a page break line, the line type (solid line or dotted line) can be selected. In the second writing margin mode, the page dividing line is placed at the boundary between two document images and at the boundary position between the document image and the writing margin portion. Therefore, even when the mode for inserting the page break line is selected, as shown by the broken lines in FIGS. 6A to 6H, the page break line is not inserted in the write margin. This is because it becomes difficult to write a comment if a page break line is inserted in the writing margin.
[0027]
Furthermore, it is possible to select whether or not to put ruled lines in the write margin. When ruled lines are inserted, horizontal ruled lines and vertical ruled lines can be selected. FIGS. 6A to 6H show ruled lines printed on the writing margin when the horizontal ruled line is selected, and FIGS. 7A to 7H show the writing margin when the vertical ruled line is selected. The ruled lines to be printed are shown in FIG.

When a page break line is inserted, the page is determined based on the line type and layout type determination result. Generate a separator line image. Furthermore, it is determined whether or not to put ruled lines based on the presence or absence of ruled lines and the ruled line type determination result. When ruled lines are inserted, the ruled line type (vertical ruled line or horizontal ruled line) and layout type determination result are used. Based on this, a ruled line image is generated. Then, a print image is generated by synthesizing the print original image, the page break line image, and the ruled line image.

[5] Description of modification
Some copiers have an aggregate copy function that reduces a plurality of originals and aggregates them on a single recording sheet. In such a consolidated copy, it is also possible to divide the boundary lines (separation lines) of a plurality of document images printed on recording paper by solid lines, dotted lines, and the like.
[0081]
For example, in the aggregation mode (4 in 1 aggregation mode) that aggregates four document images on one recording sheet and when a separator line is inserted, the number of documents is a multiple of 4, for example, six. Otherwise, a blank paper portion without a document image is formed on the final recording paper.
[0082]
For example, in the 4 in 1 aggregation mode in which four document images are recorded in the order of upper left, upper right, lower left, and lower right of the four divided portions of the recording paper, the number of documents is, for example, six. In this case, as shown in FIG. 16, blank paper portions are formed in the lower left portion and the lower right portion of the four divided portions of the final recording paper.
[0083]
In the case where a separator line is entered, conventionally, as shown in FIG. 16, a separator line is also included in the blank portion of the final recording sheet. In this modification (embodiment), in such a case, as shown in FIG. 17, no separation line is placed in the blank portion of the final recording sheet. Note that the user can set the order in which the original images are printed on the four divided portions of the recording paper.
[0084]
FIG. 18 shows a procedure for determining a place where a separator line is to be inserted when setting to insert a separator line is performed in the 4 in 1 aggregation mode.
[0085]
First, as shown in FIG. 19, the four divided portions of the recording paper are defined as

【The invention's effect】
ThisAccording to the invention, a plurality of preset originals are printed together on a single sheet of paper and printed in a single sheet, and a separation line is inserted at the boundary of the original document image on the sheet. When the number of originals to be printed is less than a preset number, it is possible to prevent a separation line from being placed in the blank paper portion generated on the paper due to the original.
