Description

The present invention relates to a balance weight member for a spoke wheel for adjusting a wheel balance by being attached to a spoke that supports a rim.

A spoke weight balance weight member described in Patent Document 1 is known. This balance weight member has a pair of opposing portions facing each other with a groove-like gap for guiding the spokes of the wheel from the side thereof, and these opposing portions are connected to each other so that the spoke is fixed therebetween. The connecting portion is made of tin or tin alloy, which is a soft metal rich in malleability, and the opposing portion and the connecting portion are integrally cast to form a substantially truncated cone shape.

The attachment to the spoke is performed by inserting the spoke into the groove-like gap from the side and sandwiching the spoke between the opposing portions and tightening the opposing portions. This attachment method allows the balance weight member to be easily attached to the spoke, and because the same balance weight member can be used for several types of spokes having different diameters, the balance weight member has an environmental problem such as a lead material. It is excellent in terms of handling and management, and has high reliability due to a simple configuration.

However, the balance weight member is expensive because it uses expensive tin, and other malleable soft metals that meet environmental standards, such as copper and silver, are even more expensive. Therefore, aluminum is not suitable in terms of density.
In addition, when a structure that does not depend on a soft metal material, for example, a weight mechanism is provided with a fastening mechanism for fixing to a spoke, there is a problem in terms of cost and reliability due to the complicated structure. .
JP 2002-89628 A

An object of the present invention is to provide a balance weight member for a spoke wheel having a simple configuration that is low in cost and highly reliable while satisfying environmental standards and ensuring handling.

According to the present invention, as described in claim 1, a pair of facing portions facing each other with a groove-like gap for accommodating the spokes of the wheel from the side thereof, and the both facing portions are connected to each other. In the balance weight member for a spoke wheel comprising a connecting portion for pressing and fixing the spoke to the opposite portion, the facing portion is formed of a cast body of pure zinc material, and the bottom portion is formed from one facing portion side to the other facing portion. The connecting portion is formed of a material that can be plastically deformed as a separate member from the opposing portions, and is an insert member that extends to the opposing portions, and the connecting portion is plastically deformed. The spokes are sandwiched between the opposing portions .

As described in claim 1, since the connecting portion is formed of a plastically deformable material, the spoke is sandwiched from the side by the opposing portions, the connecting portion is bent, and the spoke is fastened by the opposing portions, thereby easily balancing the weight member. Can be attached. In addition, since both opposing portions are formed separately from the connecting portion, a material that is inexpensive and conforms to environmental standards can be used regardless of the malleability of the material.

In addition, the insert is molded at a low cost, and the opposing parts are firmly integrated to provide excellent durability, and the opposing part is made of pure zinc material, thereby preventing rust due to the sacrificial anticorrosive action of zinc. A balance weight member that is expected to be effective can be provided.

In addition, since the bottom surface of the facing portion is inclined from one side of the facing portion to the other, the bottom surface follows the rim of the spoke wheel, so that the spoke can be securely tightened and stably attached by the facing portion. it can.

Hereinafter, the balance weight member for spoke wheels according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 7.

FIG. 1 is a front view showing a balance weight member for a spoke wheel according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a plan view of the balance weight member for a spoke wheel.

The spoke wheel balance weight member 1a is composed of a pair of left and right opposing portions 10, 11 which are weight elements, and a connecting portion 20 separate from the opposing portions 10, 11. The opposing portions 10 and 11 are connected by a connecting portion 20 with a certain distance therebetween to form a groove-like gap 12 that guides the spoke 30 of the motorcycle. The gap 12 is formed at an interval sufficient for at least the spoke 30 of the motorcycle to pass through.

The connecting portion 20 is formed separately from the facing portions 10 and 11 by a plastically deformable material. In the present embodiment, the connecting portion 20 is formed by curving an iron plate. 1 and FIG. 2, the connecting portion 20 is formed to have a length that allows the opposing portion 10 and the opposing portion 11 to be connected with a certain distance therebetween. The vertical width is formed shorter than the height of the facing portions 10 and 11. In addition, long through holes 21 and 21 are formed in the left and right ends of the connecting portion 20 and the opposing portions 10 and 11 are firmly integrated by insert molding.

Since the facing parts 10 and 11 are formed separately from the plastically deformable connecting part 20, a material having poor malleability can be used, and the facing parts 10 and 11 can be formed at low cost and to meet environmental standards.
In the present embodiment, it is formed by casting a pure zinc material. As a pure zinc material used for the opposing parts 10 and 11, high purity materials such as ordinary zinc bullion and the purest zinc bullion according to JIS standard (H2107), which contain 99.9% or more of zinc, are used. It is preferable to use it.

Moreover, as shown with a broken line in FIG.1 and FIG.2, the spoke holding | maintenance parts 13 and 13 are formed in the vertical direction in the approximate center part of each opposing surface of the opposing parts 10 and 11. FIG. FIG. 3 shows a facing surface of the facing portion 10, and FIG. 4 shows a cross-sectional view taken along line AA in FIG. 3. The spoke holding portion 13 includes a narrow diameter portion 13a that holds the spoke 30, a large diameter portion 13b that holds the nipple 31, and a concave portion 13c that receives a protrusion (not shown) of the rim R.

The spoke wheel balance weight member 1a is preferably formed in a column or cone from the viewpoint of balance or the like, and the gap 12 is formed in a vertical direction with respect to the column or cone.
In the present embodiment, the spoke wheel balance weight member 1a is formed in a truncated cone shape with its bottom portion inclined obliquely. The inclination angle of the bottom portion is matched with the attachment angle between the spoke and the rim R, and the bottom portion is formed along the rim R when the spoke wheel balance weight member 1a is attached to the spoke 30.

Next, the manufacturing method of the balance weight member 1a for spoke wheels comprised as mentioned above is demonstrated.

The spoke wheel balance weight member 1a is insert-molded so that the through holes 21 and 21 of the connecting portion 20 are embedded in the facing portions 10 and 11, respectively, so that the connecting portion 20 and the facing portions 10 and 11 are not detached. Strongly integrated.

In the present embodiment, the facing portions 10 and 11 are formed by casting a pure zinc material. Conventionally, pure zinc material is known to have poor hot water flow, and a constant small amount of molten zinc is intermittently supplied to continuously mass-produce balance weight members so as not to cause defects such as poor filling. It was difficult. Moreover, when molten zinc is injected into the mold under pressure, bubbles and the like may be mixed, and in this case, the weight and weight balance of the balance weight member are lost.

Due to the above problem, the melting furnace for melting the pure zinc material is provided with a hot water outlet at the bottom, and in addition to the melting heater for melting the pure zinc material, a heater is also provided in the vicinity of the hot water outlet. . Furthermore, the open / close valve of the hot water outlet was formed of a stainless material or the like that forms a protective film such as an oxide film, and the vicinity of the hot water outlet was covered with a stainless steel material or the like.

In casting the pure zinc material, first, the pure zinc material is melted and heated by the melting heater, and the bottom outlet is sufficiently heated by the heater. Then, the on-off valve is opened for a certain period of time, and molten zinc is poured out by falling under its own weight and poured into the mold.

By sufficiently heating the tap and controlling the temperature of the tap, the fluidity of the molten zinc can be ensured, and the use of stainless steel near the on-off valve and the tap makes it possible to condense the molten zinc. Prevents clogging of the on-off valve due to wearing, improves hot water shortage, and discharge can be performed without disturbing the flow of molten metal when starting hot water. And a natural flow is formed to prevent poor filling.

In this way, molten zinc with poor hot water flow is supplied intermittently in a fixed amount, there is no filling failure due to mixing of bubbles, etc., and a low-cost and highly reliable balance weight member is provided by a melting furnace with a simple configuration. Mass production.

Next, attachment of the spoke wheel balance weight member 1a formed as described above will be described. FIG. 5 is a partial cross-sectional view showing a state in which the balance weight member for a spoke wheel is attached to the spoke, and FIG. 6 is a plan view thereof.

The spoke wheel balance weight member 1a is attached by inserting the spoke 30 into the gap 12 to align the position with the spoke holding portion 13 and pressing the opposing portions 10 and 11 from both outer sides.
In the present embodiment, the facing parts 10 and 11 are made of pure zinc material having poor malleability, but the connecting part 20 made of a separate iron plate is bent so that the spokes 30 are formed by the facing parts 10 and 11. Can be pinched.

As shown in FIG. 6, when the facing portions 10 and 11 are pressed from both outer sides, the connecting portion 20 is bent and the gap 12 is closed. Then, as shown in FIG. 5, the spoke wheel balance weight member 1 a is tightened and fixed so as to receive the spoke 30 and the nipple 31 by the spoke holding portion 13 and the concave portion 13 c and to embrace them.

The spoke wheel balance weight member 1a configured as described above has the following effects.

By forming the connecting portion 20 separately from the facing portions 10 and 11 by a plastically deformable iron plate, the connecting portion 20 is bent regardless of the malleability of the pure zinc material forming the facing portions 10 and 11. Thus, the spoke 30 can be sandwiched and tightened by the opposing portions 10 and 11, and the spoke wheel balance weight member 1a can be easily attached.

Further, the facing portions 10 and 11 are formed by casting a pure zinc material, and the connecting portion 20 is insert-molded into the facing portions 10 and 11, thereby reducing the durability of the spoke wheel balance weight member 1a at low cost. Can be provided. Furthermore, the antirust effect by the sacrificial anticorrosive action of zinc is exhibited. Further, the spoke wheel balance weight member 1a formed of a pure zinc material is superior in durability because it is less likely to deteriorate with time as compared with a member formed of a zinc-aluminum alloy to which aluminum or the like is added.

Next, another embodiment of the spoke wheel balance weight member will be described. FIG. 7 is a plan view showing a balance weight member for a spoke wheel according to another embodiment. Since the shape and material of the facing portions 10 and 11 are the same as the spoke wheel balance weight member of the above-described embodiment, the description thereof is omitted.

The connection part 22 of the balance weight member 1b for spoke wheels of the present embodiment is formed by bending an iron plate into a U-shape. Through holes (not shown) are formed at both ends of the connecting portion 22, and this portion is insert-molded so as to be embedded in the facing portions 10 and 11, so that the spoke wheel balance weight member 1 b is integrally formed.

The spoke wheel balance weight member 1b formed as described above has the spokes 30 that press the opposing portions 10 and 11 from both outer sides with a force that is easier than in the above-described embodiment because the connecting portion 22 is bent. Can be attached to.

In each of the above embodiments, a pure zinc material is used as the material of the opposing portions 10 and 11 that are weight elements, and an iron plate is used as the material of the connecting portions 20 and 22, but the connecting portions 20 and 22 can be plastically deformed. It is an example of a simple material, and the material of the connecting portions 20 and 22 is not limited to the iron plate.
