【0001】

JPEG(Joint Photographic Expert Group)は、国際標準化機構(ISO)と国際電信電話諮問機関(CCITT)が共同でまとめた静止画像の圧縮方式である。

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electronic still camera and an image processing method thereof, and more particularly, to an electronic still camera and an image processing method thereof that improve a processing method of a defective image caused by camera shake during photographing.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, as a portable information device that can shoot a subject image as a digital signal and display it on a liquid crystal panel, and store the image information in a removable memory card and process the image with a personal computer or the like, Electronic still cameras are rapidly spreading. In such an electronic still camera, depending on the storage capacity of the memory for storing image information, it is possible to take a vast number of images far exceeding the 24 and 36 shots of a typical silver halide photograph. it can.
However, with technological development, a product called a megapixel having a photographing resolution exceeding 1 million pixels has been developed, and there has been a problem that the number of image information that can be stored is drastically reduced in the storage capacity of the conventional memory. Although attempts have been made to increase the storage capacity of the memory along with the improvement of the photographing resolution, the memory card used as a storage medium is still expensive, and the memory storage currently used as a standard is still in use. The capacity is only a few megabytes, and in the case of a high-definition image, only a few images can be stored. For this reason, there is a demand for a technology that effectively uses a limited storage capacity.
[0003]
On the other hand, the electronic still camera has a feature that a subject image can be easily taken and reproduced and erased on the spot as compared with a camera for silver halide photography. As shown in (), the camera user holds the
In an electronic still camera, a method of reproducing, confirming, and erasing an image with a liquid crystal panel after shooting is generally performed for a defective image (camera shake image) caused by camera shake. In this case, after shooting, the camera user switches to the playback mode by operating the switches on the camera body, and after confirming the displayed image, he / she notices camera shake. There was a problem that I could not. In addition, since the influence of such camera shake has a feature that it becomes more prominent as the zoom magnification of the optical system is improved, countermeasures are becoming important.
[0004]
As a method for processing a defective image due to camera shake, for example, as disclosed in JP-A-10-215405, a method for calculating and correcting a camera shake image itself is known. Etc. has a problem that the load on the
For this reason, in recent years, a method of warning a camera shake state by sound or display is applied during or after shooting, and a camera user can acquire a desired image by performing shooting again according to the warning. Can do.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the above-described prior art, a camera shake warning can be recognized by the camera user. However, since the image in which the camera shake has occurred is stored in the memory as it is, the camera user switches to the playback mode each time and shakes the camera shake. When an image is displayed on the LCD panel and the camera shake status is determined to be unnecessary, an erasure operation must be performed and a camera shake image can be selected from a plurality of consecutively shot images. There is a problem that performing the erasing operation is extremely complicated.
In addition, since the camera shake image is stored in the memory as it is, there is a problem that as the number of times increases, unnecessary images are accumulated in the memory, and the storage capacity of the memory is not effectively used. Yes.
Therefore, the present invention can invalidate the camera shake image stored in the memory by a simple technique to improve the memory capacity shortage due to an unnecessary image in which camera shake has occurred, and to effectively use the storage capacity. An object of the present invention is to provide an electronic still camera and an image processing method thereof.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. Embodiment It is a block diagram which shows the basic composition of the electronic still camera concerning.
As shown in FIG. Embodiment The electronic still camera according to the present invention includes an imaging unit (imaging unit) 10, a vibration detection unit (hand shake detection unit) 20, a microprocessor unit (hereinafter referred to as MPU; control unit) 30, and a storage unit (storage unit) 40. And a display unit (display unit) 50 and an operation unit (selection unit) 60.
Each configuration will be sequentially described below.

The
The photographic lens 11 constitutes an optical system that forms an image of light from a subject on a light receiving surface of a CCD 12, which will be described later, by a combination of known optical lenses. The CCD 12 is a solid-state imaging device that transfers charges in an array, and particularly refers to a solid-state image sensor that converts two-dimensional optical information into a time-series (serial column) analog electrical signal. The CCD drive system 13 has a function of driving and controlling the CCD 12 by instructing each pixel of the CCD 12 to start photoelectric conversion and output accumulated charges.

As another method for detecting camera shake, a method of analyzing the captured image itself to determine the degree of camera shake based on the sharpness of the contour of the subject image or the subject image is acquired by pressing the shutter key. Compare and contrast the image immediately before the release operation and the image during the release operation to determine the degree of camera shake, the shutter key pressing speed, that is, the release speed (or shutter speed), and slower than the normal speed In some cases, a method of determining that there is a possibility of camera shake may be employed.

Here, JPEG will be briefly described as a representative example of image compression processing performed by the
JPEG (Joint Photographic Expert Group) is a still image compression method jointly compiled by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Telegraph and Telephone Consulting Organization (CCITT). After the image data to be compressed is divided into 8 × 8-bit pixel blocks, DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) is performed to rearrange the frequency components, and each block is converted into 2 by zigzag scanning or alternate scanning. The data is converted from dimension to one-dimensional data, the DCT count of the block is converted into quantum data based on the quantization table, and variable length coding (lossless compression) processing is performed with reference to the Huffman table.
Note that the above-described JPEG method is generally used as an image compression and storage method employed in recent electronic still cameras, but there are also methods that employ other methods such as TIFF.

[0021]
After the above series of processing is completed, the process returns to S112 again, and it is determined whether the next shooting is performed continuously or the shooting is performed again according to the camera shake notification depending on the presence or absence of the shutter operation. If the image taken immediately before has been determined to be a camera shake image by the above-described series of processing, the image has been set to an invalid state, so a new image is taken in the area where the image is stored. The recorded image is stored. On the other hand, if it is determined that the image taken immediately before is a good image without camera shake, the image is stored in the storage area, so that the newly taken image is another new image. Stored in the storage area.
[0022]
As described above, an image in which camera shake has occurred is temporarily stored in a predetermined storage area, but immediately after that, the image is forcibly set to an invalid state, and an image acquired by re-shooting is stored in the same storage area. Alternatively, the image is once stored in a predetermined storage area, but immediately after that, the storage area is set in an overwritable state, and the next acquired image is overwritten and stored in the same storage area. Therefore, only a good image can be stored without leaving an unnecessary image due to hand shaking in the storage unit. Therefore, when camera shake occurs, re-photographing according to the camera shake notification saves only a good image in the same storage area, and the memory can be stored without performing complicated operations such as erasing the camera shake image. The capacity can be used effectively.
In the above-described embodiment, the acquired image information is temporarily stored in a predetermined storage area and then set to the invalid state based on the vibration information. For example, when camera shake (vibration) is detected, the acquired image information is not stored in the
[0023]
Figure 4 FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing a processing procedure of the image processing method according to the present embodiment, and FIG. 5 is a display example in the image sorting mode of the present embodiment.
In the present embodiment, the process (S116, S117) of setting an image determined to be a camera shake image in an invalid state in the flowchart of the above-described embodiment (see FIG. 2) is selectively executed based on the determination of the camera user. It is characterized by having been replaced with processing. Therefore, the description of the processing procedure equivalent to the above-described embodiment is omitted.

Similar to the above-described embodiment, after acquiring the image information and the vibration information, based on the vibration information, the camera shake state of the image information stored in the predetermined storage area of the

[0026]
As described above, the selection of the image in which the camera shake has occurred is temporarily stored in a predetermined storage area, but immediately after that, the image selection mode is entered and the image is set to an invalid state or is left as it is. Whether to save the image can be determined by the user confirming the actual image reproduced and displayed on the display unit 50. Therefore, an image with camera shake can be easily selected immediately after shooting, so as shown in the prior art, after shooting, an operation unit is operated to set the playback mode and select an image. It is not necessary to perform such a process, and such a selection operation is not forgotten. Furthermore, when an image with camera shake is a camera shake that is acceptable to the camera user, or when an image having an unexpected effect can be taken, the image can be stored as it is. Only images that are really unnecessary among the images can be erased and overwritten, and images according to the preferences of the camera user can be acquired with good operability.
[0027]

First, the recording mode is set by operating the REC / PLAY key of the camera body (S201). By setting the recording mode, an image of the subject captured via the

[0030]
Next, mentioned above Image processing method One embodiment of a camera shake image search and display method realized by applying the above will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 8 is a flowchart showing the processing procedure of this embodiment.
First, after a series of image processing shown in FIG. 6, specific information is associated with a plurality of pieces of image information and stored in the
In the scroll display, specific information associated with the image information, that is, a flag is extracted and determined (S213), and it is determined whether or not the displayed image information is a camera shake image (S214). When the flag is set to “1”, it is determined that the image is a camera shake image. When the image information is displayed, the camera shake image is displayed by sound, light, mark display, or the like, and the image information is displayed. A notification is made to prompt the camera user to determine whether to delete or save (S215). When the camera user determines that the camera shake image displayed is unnecessary and performs an erasing operation (S216), the image information is set in a state where it can be erased or overwritten (S217). On the other hand, when the camera user determines that the camera shake image displayed is useful and does not perform an erasing operation or performs a storing operation, the image information is stored as it is.
If the flag is set to “0”, it is determined as a normal image, and normal reproduction display is performed (S218).
The above series of processing is executed until the scroll operation is interrupted or until display of all stored image information is completed.
[0031]
In this way, by extracting and discriminating specific information (flag) associated with the image information based on the vibration information, a camera shake image can be extracted from a plurality of pieces of image information. In this case, it is possible to notify the camera user to recognize the camera shake image. Therefore, the camera user can shoot continuously at the photo opportunity, and then determine whether to erase or save the camera shake image while confirming the reproduced image. When it occurs continuously, it is not necessary to delete and save the camera shake image each time, and the control process in the

[0033]
Next, mentioned above Image processing method Another embodiment of a camera shake image search and display method realized by applying the above will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 10 is a flowchart showing the processing procedure of this embodiment.
First, after a series of image processing shown in FIG. 6, specific information is associated with a plurality of pieces of image information and stored in the
[0034]
Next, only the extracted camera shake image is sequentially scroll-displayed on the display unit 50 (S226), and if the camera user determines that all of the camera shake images already displayed are unnecessary, an operation such as a plus / minus key is performed. By performing a batch erasure operation by the unit 60 (S227), all displayed hand-drawn images are set in a state where they can be erased or overwritten (S228). On the other hand, when the camera user determines that the camera shake image that has already been displayed is useful and does not perform a batch erasing operation or performs a storing operation, the image information group is stored as it is.
In the present embodiment, the case where the extracted camera shake image is scroll-displayed has been described. However, the batch erase operation is executed for each of a plurality of camera shake images displayed on, for example, a 4-part or 9-part screen by multi-screen display. It may be what you do.
Further, in addition to a method of deleting a plurality of camera shake images at once, a method that selectively deletes a displayed image while confirming it may be used.
[0035]
In this way, by searching for specific information associated with image information based on vibration information, it is possible to extract and display only camera shake images from a plurality of images, and to provide camera users with a plurality of camera shakes. Images can be recognized, and erasing and saving processes can be performed at once. Therefore, since the camera user can continuously shoot at the photo opportunity, and then can easily determine selection (erase or save) while checking the camera shake image in the playback mode, Alternatively, it is not necessary to perform complicated operations for each reproduced image, and an electronic still camera with excellent operability can be realized.
[0036]
Next, mentioned above Image processing method One embodiment of an automatic image erasing method realized by applying the above will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 11 is a flowchart showing the processing procedure of this embodiment.
First, the recording mode is set by operating the REC / PLAY key of the camera body (S231). By setting the recording mode, an image of the subject captured via the
[0037]
Next, the remaining storage capacity of the
After the above series of processing is completed, the processing returns to S232 again, and processing such as acquisition of new image information, monitoring of the remaining amount of memory, search for camera shake images, and deletion is repeated according to the presence or absence of the shutter operation.
[0038]
In the present embodiment, a case is shown in which a series of processing such as monitoring the remaining storage capacity of the
As described above, when new image information is acquired in a state where the storage remaining amount of the storage unit is low, a camera shake image stored in the storage unit is searched and generally set to an invalid state. Camera shake images that are likely to be unnecessary can be automatically extracted and erased, and useful images that are newly taken can be stored in sequence, making effective use of limited storage capacity can do. Therefore, the camera user does not need to perform complicated operations for erasing camera shake images even when the shutter chances are continuous, and it is not necessary to worry about the remaining amount of memory. An electronic still camera can be realized.
[0039]
In each of the above-described embodiments, a method of using a flag for identifying a binary value indicating whether or not the image is a camera shake image as the specific information has been described. However, the degree of camera shake is determined based on the vibration information. By classifying using threshold values, multi-values are obtained as hand shake degrees. For example, hand shake degrees “A”, “B”, “C”... You may memorize | store in a predetermined area | region. In this case, by searching for and extracting image information according to the degree of camera shake, when setting a camera shake image to an invalid state, it is possible to sequentially set the image information with a high degree of camera shake to an invalid state. Erase / save determination processing can be performed easily and automatically, and the storage capacity can be effectively used.
By the way, in each of the embodiments described above, the case where the camera shake image is set to an invalid state using various configurations and means provided in the electronic still camera for the captured image information has been shown. The present invention is not limited to such an embodiment. For example, specific information is associated with image information captured by an electronic still camera, and the information is transferred to another information device such as a personal computer or a portable information terminal. On the side, processing and operations such as camera shake notification, search, and erasure (including batch erasure) may be executed.

【The invention's effect】
The present invention According to the present invention, the camera shake state when the subject image is captured through the imaging unit is detected as vibration information by the vibration detection unit, and the control unit is temporarily stored in a predetermined area of the storage unit based on the vibration information. The camera shake image can be set to an invalid state in which it can be erased or overwritten.
In particular, immediately after shooting the subject image, According to camera user's request By selectively setting the invalid state, it is possible to store a good image acquired by re-shooting in accordance with camera shake notification in the same storage area, so that the limited storage capacity can be used effectively. At the same time, it is possible to realize an electronic still camera with excellent operability that does not require a complicated operation such as erasure of a camera shake image.
Also shoot subject image By displaying the image with camera shake on the display means immediately after shooting the subject image, the operation unit is operated to set the playback mode and select the image as in the past. In addition, it is possible to reliably notify the camera user of the selection of the camera shake image and prompt the determination and operation.
[0041]
Imaging means The camera shake state at the time of photographing the subject image is detected as vibration information by the vibration detection means, and the control means indicates the camera shake state based on the vibration information. Flag information By associating and storing them in a predetermined area of the storage means, Flag information The hand shake image can be easily extracted using as a search condition.
In particular, when the playback image is confirmed by various display methods such as scroll display and multi-screen display after continuous shooting, Flag information The camera shake image searched and extracted based on the image can be notified and the determination and operation of erasure or storage of the camera shake image can be promoted. The burden of control processing can be reduced, and an electronic still camera with better operability can be realized.
Also, Flag information Since only the hand-drawn images searched and extracted based on the image can be displayed sequentially or collectively by scroll display, multi-screen display, etc., judgment and operation of deleting or saving the displayed hand-held images are performed collectively. The operability can be further improved.
Furthermore, when the subject is photographed, the remaining storage capacity of the storage unit is monitored, and when the remaining storage capacity is low, a hand shake image is searched based on specific information and set to an invalid state. Is possible, and Automatically extract and erase camera shake images Is also possible , Can save the newly captured useful images sequentially Become Therefore, even when there are consecutive photo opportunities, it is possible to continue shooting without worrying about the remaining memory, and there is no need to perform camera shake image processing operations, realizing an extremely easy-to-operate electronic still camera. can do.
