Description

【0001】

[0001]
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a circuit board connector and a terminal press-fitting jig to be attached to a circuit board.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, for example, terminals that are not soldered are becoming widespread as terminals used for electrical connection with contact portions that are inserted into through-holes of circuit boards and formed on the inner periphery thereof. As shown in FIG.
[0003]
The terminal 1 is also referred to as a needle eye shape, and a pair of elastic contact portions 2 are formed in a radially arcuate shape outwardly with a bending space in between, so that the radial direction The structure is made to be elastically deformable. The terminal 1 is press-fitted into the through hole 7 of the circuit board 6 while being elastically deformed so that both elastic contact portions 2 are closed, and is pressed against the inner periphery of the through hole 7 by the elastic force in the opening direction. In addition to being prevented from coming off, electrical connection with the contact portion 8 formed on the inner periphery of the through hole 7 is possible.
[0004]
By the way, this type of press-fit terminal 1 needs to be inserted into the through-hole 7 against the elastic force of the elastic contact portion 2 as described above, and a corresponding stable pushing force is required. Therefore, conventionally, a jig abutting portion 4 is provided so as to protrude on both sides at a position directly above the elastic contact portion 2 in the terminal 1, and a terminal press-fitting jig 5 is applied to the jig abutting portion 4 and pushed in, The elastic contact portion 2 was inserted into the through hole 7.
[0005]
[Patent Document 1]
German Patent No. 19608168 [0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, in the circuit board connector configured to push the terminal with the terminal press-fitting jig, the jig abutting portion should be extended as much as possible on both the left and right sides so that the terminal can be easily and surely pushed into the circuit board. It is preferable to provide in. However, when a plurality of terminals are arranged side by side, if the jig abutting portions are provided so as to protrude greatly, the jig abutting portions of adjacent terminals interfere with each other, and the arrangement pitch of the terminals is increased. There is a problem that the connector cannot be narrowed and the connector becomes large. Also, if the protruding width of the jig abutment part is reduced in order to narrow the terminal arrangement pitch, the terminal press-fitting jig can be easily detached from the jig abutment part during the pushing operation of the terminal, and the terminal is placed in the through hole. It becomes difficult to push in reliably.
[0007]
The present invention has been completed on the basis of the above circumstances, and is capable of reliably press-fitting the terminal and the connection portion of the circuit board and can reduce the arrangement pitch of the terminals. An object of the present invention is to provide a connector and a terminal press-fitting jig.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
As a means for achieving the above object, the invention of claim 1 includes a plurality of terminals led out from the housing, and a press-fitting portion that is press-fitted into the connection portion of the circuit board is provided at the tip of the terminal. At the back of the press-fitting direction, a jig abutting portion is provided so as to project laterally, and the press-fitting portion is press-fitted into the connecting portion while the jig abutting portion is pressed by a terminal press-fitting jig. A connector for a circuit board, wherein the back surface in the press-fitting direction of the jig abutting portion is formed into an inclined surface located rearward in the press-fitting direction as the distance from the center line of the terminal increases. Have.
[0009]
Invention of Claim 2 is the connector for circuit boards of Claim 1, Comprising: The jig contact part of the said terminal is located in a staggered position in the axial direction with the jig contact part of the said adjacent terminal. It is characterized by being formed.
[0010]
Further, the invention of claim 3 is provided with a terminal having a press-fit portion to be press-fitted into the connection portion of the circuit board, and a jig abutting portion is provided projecting laterally behind the press-fit direction. A terminal press-fitting jig for a circuit board connector having a slanted surface located rearward in the press-fitting direction as the back surface in the press-fitting direction is farther from the center line of the terminal in the abutting part, A feature is that an inclined contact surface is formed that can contact and press the inclined surface of the jig abutting portion.
[0011]
[Action and effect of the invention]
According to the above invention, since the back surface in the press-fitting direction to the connection portion of the jig abutting portion is formed in the inclined surface shape that is located rearward in the press-fitting direction as the distance from the center line of the terminal is increased, the terminal press-fitting is performed on the inclined surface. When the press-fitting part and the connection part are press-fitted by abutting the abutting surface at the tip of the jig, the terminal press-fitting jig is difficult to come off from the edge of the jig abutting part. In other words, compared to the conventional configuration in which the back surface of the jig abutting portion is formed in a flat shape, the pressing operation can be reliably performed even if the protruding width of the jig abutting portion is reduced. The arrangement pitch of the circuit board can be narrowed to reduce the size of the circuit board connector.
[0012]
Further, as in the second aspect of the present invention, when the jig contact portions of the terminals adjacent to each other are formed at alternate positions in the axial direction, the arrangement pitch of the terminals can be further reduced.
[0013]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
<First Embodiment>
A first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
In FIG. 1, reference numeral 10 denotes a board connector. In the following description, the left side of the figure is assumed to be the front.
[0014]
The board connector 10 includes a connector housing 11 made of synthetic resin and a plurality of terminals 20. The connector housing 11 includes a main body portion 12 that is elongated in a direction perpendicular to the paper surface of FIG. 1, and a hood portion 13 into which a mating connector housing (not shown) is fitted is formed on the front surface of the main body portion 12. . A plurality of through holes 14 penetrating in the front-rear direction are formed in the main body portion 12 and are arranged in two upper and lower stages.
[0015]
The terminal 20 is also referred to as a press-fit terminal, and is formed into an elongated rectangular bar shape as a whole by pressing a metal wire having excellent conductivity. As shown in FIG. 1, the terminal 20 is bent into an L shape, and an attachment portion 21 at one end thereof is press-fitted into the through hole 14 from the back side and attached to the connector housing 11. The attachment portion 21 projects from the front surface of the main body portion 12 into the hood portion 13 and comes into contact with a mating terminal (not shown). On the other hand, a substrate connecting portion 25 is formed at a portion of the terminal 20 that protrudes downward from the bent portion 22. The board connecting portions 25 are arranged in two rows in the front and rear directions with their tips aligned at the same height, and are inserted into the through holes 41 of the circuit board 40 (see FIG. 3).
[0016]
The circuit board 40 has a conductive path 42 formed on the surface and a large number of through holes 41 (see FIG. 3). A contact portion 43 (corresponding to the connection portion of the present invention) is formed on the inner periphery of the through hole 41 by plating or the like, and is connected to the conductive path 42.
[0017]
As shown in FIG. 2, the board connecting portion 25 is formed with a guide taper portion 26 at the tip thereof, and a pair of elastic abutments over the region approximately twice the depth of the through-hole 41 above it. A portion 27 (corresponding to the press-fitting portion of the present invention) is formed. Both elastic contact portions 27 have a thick strip shape, and are formed to bulge outward in a substantially arc shape through a thin-walled portion 28 that can be elastically deformed. The maximum radial length of both elastic contact portions 27 is set to be a predetermined amount larger than the inner diameter of the contact portion 43 of the through hole 41 (see FIGS. 3 and 4). The elastic contact portion 27 is inserted into the through hole 41 and is electrically connected to the contact portion 43 by being compressed in the radial direction together with the thin portion 28.
[0018]
A jig abutting portion 29 is formed at a position immediately above the elastic contact portion 27 (rear in the press-fitting direction) so as to protrude in the left-right direction. The jig abutting portion 29 has a substantially rectangular flat plate shape, and the upper edge (the back surface in the press-fitting direction) is a contact edge 29A of a terminal press-fitting jig 50 described later. It is made into the inclined surface shape located in the back of a press injection direction, so that it is far from the centerline of this axial direction. Further, the corner of the lower edge 29B of the jig abutting portion 29 is rounded. Further, a guide portion 23 that is slightly wider than the main body portion of the terminal 20 via a taper portion is formed immediately above the jig abutting portion 29.
[0019]
On the other hand, a pair of fixing arms 15 for fixing the connector housing 11 to the circuit board 40 are protruded from both ends of the back surface of the connector housing 11 (see FIG. 1). The fixed arm 15 has a semi-cylindrical shape extending vertically, and a through hole (not shown) for inserting a screw is formed in the vertical direction.
[0020]
Next, an example of a method for attaching the board connector 10 to the circuit board 40 will be described.
The board connector 10 is attached to the circuit board 40 using a terminal press-fitting jig 50 (see FIG. 3). The terminal press-fitting jig 50 has a planar shape and is formed between the guide portions 23 so as to correspond to the terminals 20 so as to be inserted from above the board connector 10. Further, the tip end portion of the terminal press-fitting jig 50 that abuts against the abutting edge 29A of the jig abutting portion 29 is an inclined contact surface 51 having the same angle as that of the abutting edge 29A. It comes to abut closely.
[0021]
The board connector 10 is held so as to be movable up and down in a posture in which the board connecting portion 25 faces downward with respect to a set device (not shown). Further, the circuit board 40 is fixed to the set device in a horizontal posture below the board connector 10, and each board connection portion 25 of the terminal 20 is positioned directly above the corresponding through hole 41 of the circuit board 40. It has become.
[0022]
Then, when the terminal press-fitting jig 50 is inserted horizontally between the terminals 20 from above the board connector 10 held by the set device (see the two-dot chain line in FIG. 3), the terminal press-fitting jig 50 It is guided by the taper and inserted between the guide portions 23. Then, the contact surface 51 of the terminal press-fitting jig 50 comes into close contact with the contact edge 29A of the jig contact part 29. Further, when the jig contact portion 29 is pushed down by the terminal press-fitting jig 50, the elastic contact portion 27 of the board connection portion 25 is press-fitted into the through hole 41. Thus, since the elastic contact portion 27 is press-fitted into the through hole 41 by the jig abutting portion 29 provided immediately above the elastic contact portion 27, the terminal 20 can be securely attached to the circuit board 40 without being bent. it can.
[0023]
When the elastic contact portion 27 enters a predetermined amount with respect to the through hole 41, the elastic contact portion 27 is locked in the through hole 41 by the elastic force in the radial direction, and is electrically connected to the contact portion 43. Connected.
[0024]
After inserting the elastic contact portion 27 into the through hole 41 in this way, the terminal press-fitting jig 50 is pulled out above the board connector 10 and the circuit board 40 (see FIG. 4). Then, a screw (not shown) is inserted into the through-hole of the fixed arm 15 and fixed to the circuit board 40, whereby the attachment of the board connector 10 to the circuit board 40 is completed.
[0025]
As described above, according to the present embodiment, the abutting edge 29A of the jig abutting portion 29 is an inclined surface positioned rearward in the press-fitting direction as the distance from the center line of the terminal 20 increases. Since the (contact surface 51) is formed so as to be in close contact with the inclined surface, the terminal press-fitting jig does not easily come off from the jig abutting portion when the terminal press-fitting jig is pushed. Therefore, compared to the conventional configuration, the projecting width of the jig abutting portion can be reduced, and the circuit board can be miniaturized by reducing the terminal arrangement pitch.
[0026]
Second Embodiment
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. Portions overlapping with those in the first embodiment are omitted.
The terminal 30 of the present embodiment is substantially the same as the terminal 20 of the first embodiment, but the axial length of the jig abutting portion 39 is shorter than the jig abutting portion 29 of the first embodiment. In addition, it is different from that of the first embodiment in that the positions of the jig abutting portions 39 of the terminals 30 adjacent to each other are separated by a distance L so as to be alternated.
[0027]
On the other hand, the terminal press-fitting jig 60 has a planar shape and is formed so as to be inserted from above the board connector 10 between the guide portions 33 so as to correspond to the terminals 30. Is provided with a step 61 having a length equal to the distance L described above, and the contact surfaces 62 and 63 at the tip of the terminal press-fitting jig divided by the step are respectively applied to the contact of the jig abutting portion 39. The inclined surface has the same angle as the edge 39A. As a result, the contact surfaces 62 and 63 of the terminal press-fitting jig 60 can be brought into close contact with the abutting edges 39A of the jig abutting portions 39 of the terminals 30 adjacent to each other.
[0028]
When the board connector 10 of this embodiment is attached to the circuit board 40, the terminal press-fitting jig 60 is placed horizontally from above the board connector 10 held by the set device, as in the first embodiment. 30 (see the two-dot chain line in FIG. 6). Then, the terminal press-fitting jig 60 is guided by the taper of the guide part 33 and inserted between the guide parts 33, and the front end surfaces 62 and 63 of the terminal press-fitting jig 60 are adjacent to the jig abutting part 39 of the adjacent terminal 30. It abuts closely against the abutting edge 39A. Therefore, when the jig contact portion 39 is pushed down by pressing the terminal press fitting jig 60, the elastic contact portion 37 of the board connecting portion 35 is press-fitted into the through hole 41, and the elastic contact portion 27 is inserted into the through hole 41. In addition to being locked, the contact portion 43 is electrically connected.
[0029]
As in this embodiment, the arrangement pitch is shifted alternately in the axial direction of the jig abutting portions of adjacent terminals, so that the arrangement pitch can be made narrower than in the first embodiment and the circuit board can be downsized. Is possible.
[0030]
