従来、プリンタ、複写機、ファクシミリ等の画像形成装置に備える、用紙を反転して搬送する用紙反転装置として、図5(A)、(B)に示すものがある。この用紙反転装置は、画像形成後の用紙を後処理装置等に搬送する際に、図5(A)に示すように、主搬送経路K1からスイッチバック搬送経路K2に搬送し、スイッチバック搬送経路K2で反転ローラ(駆動側反転ローラ71h、従動側反転ローラ74c)により分岐搬送経路K3に搬送するものである。この主搬送経路K1、スイッチバック搬送経路K2及び分岐搬送経路K3は、略Y字路の搬送経路を構成している。
