Description

【0001】

[Industrial application fields]
The present invention relates to a tape brake device of a tape measure in which a tape urging means is incorporated.
[0002]
[Prior art and problems]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, many tape measures equipped with a biasing means such as a coil spring that biases a tape in the winding direction include a braking device that stops the tape at an arbitrary pulling position against the biasing force of the biasing means. .
Among them, a brake device that holds the drawn tape stopped at an arbitrary position by operating the button or lever of the brake operation unit, or a brake device that stops the tape only when the button is pushed. There is.
[0003]
And since the tape measure provided with the braking device which stops the tape only at the time of operation is a braking device used for a comparatively low-priced tape measure, when installing the braking device or its braking operation part, the case can be easily installed. The side was the main.
However, if the brake operation unit is installed on the side of the case, the operator's hand requires two forces: the support force that supports the tape measure body and the pressing force of the brake operation unit that stops the tape that has been pulled out. As a result, a considerable burden was placed on the hands of the workers.
[0004]
For this reason, the present applicant has proposed a brake device or a brake operation portion provided on the bottom surface of the case, thereby reliably stopping the pulled-out tape without destabilizing the support force of the case. The injuries caused by dropping the tape measure and sudden pulling in of the tape were eliminated.
However, when performing the measurement work while pulling out the drawn tape several centimeters or several tens of centimeters, the operation must be performed while frequently adjusting the finger pressing force on the bottom of the case. It became extremely difficult as the worker's age increased.
[0005]
【the purpose】
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and can reliably support the tape measure, and can perform the operation safely and at the time of measurement work involving a short distance pull-in operation in addition to a normal braking operation. It is an object to provide a tape measure that can be facilitated.
[0006]
[Means for solving problems]
The gist of the present invention lies in a tape measure in which a rotating drum for winding a tape around a shaft is supported in a case, and a biasing means for biasing the tape in the winding direction is incorporated in the rotating drum. The tape measure is characterized in that a brake operation part that can be pushed inwardly into the case is provided on the front wall of the case, and a brake shoe that contacts the disk inner surface of the rotating drum is connected to the brake operation part.
[0007]
This tape measure will be described in more detail. A rotating drum that winds the tape around is pivotally supported in the case, and the tape is urged by entraining the tape inside the case as an urging means for urging the tape in the winding direction. The coil spring has a built-in coil spring whose inner end is wound around a shaft provided in the case, and its outer end is connected to the tape so that the coil spring can be pulled out to store energy. It has become.
The front wall of the tape measure case, which is configured in this way, is provided with a braking operation section for a braking device that decelerates or stops the tape. When braking is required, the braking operation section is pushed inward to the brake. The brake shoe connected to the operation unit comes into contact with the rotating drum, and the tape is braked.
[0008]
The front wall of the case refers to a wall located between the tape entrance / exit of the tape below the case and the highest part (vertex part) of the case, and braking of a braking device that can be pushed inward into the case at a suitable position of this part. An operation unit is provided.
The brake operation unit is formed of a suitable material (resin / metal material, etc.), and the brake shoe connected thereto is separated from the rotary drum by an elastic plate, a spring, or the brake operation unit main body. It is better to support it elastically.
The method of elastically supporting is not particularly limited, and may be supported by a suitable method.
[0009]
The brake operation part is usually button-shaped, but it is molded with an elastic material such as rubber, silicon, and elastomer so that it is in close contact with the opening of the case for installing the brake operation part. It is desirable not to enter.
Furthermore, an appropriate cut may be made in the case member on the front wall, and that portion may be used as a braking operation unit having elasticity.
[0010]
And it is desirable to make a brake shoe contact the disk of the both sides of a rotating drum.
The shape and material of the brake shoe are not particularly limited as long as the braking performance is not impaired.
[0011]
The connection method between the brake shoe and the brake operation unit is not particularly limited, and may be connected by an arbitrary method. Further, the brake shoe and the brake operation unit may be formed as an integral part.
The disk inner peripheral surface refers to the tape drum side of the rotating drum.
[0012]
[Action]
Since the tape measure of the present invention is structured as described above, when braking is required, the case is held with one hand, and the braking operation portion on the front wall of the case is pushed inward with the thumb.
As a result, the brake shoe connected to the braking operation unit is pressed against the peripheral edge of the disk of the rotary drum for winding the tape, and the tape is braked.
[0013]
At this time, the hand and fingers supporting the tape measure support the bottom surface of the case with fingers other than the thumb, support the upper part of the case with the base of the thumb and the palm near the base, and the braking operation unit is operated by the thumb. The
Thereby, sufficient support force of the tape measure can be obtained, and the braking operation can be performed accurately.
[0014]
