QoS制御方式は、WFQ(Weighted Fair Queueing),CBQ(Class Based Queueing)(例えば、非特許文献2参照。),WRED(Random Early Detection)(例えば、非特許文献3参照。)

Thwww (kbps)
また、QoS制御対象回線200の総使用帯域を6Mbps、導入可否が必要なQoS制御を、DiffServ(Differentiated Services )AFとし、QoS制御を行う場合のキューマネジメントはFIFO(First-in First-Out)で行うものとする。
【0041】
SVoIP∩SVideo ∩SWWW

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a QoS (Quality of Service) control method selection method and apparatus, and more particularly to improve the quality of traffic such as VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), video distribution, and WWW (World Wide Web) in a packet network. The present invention relates to a QoS control method selection method and apparatus for facilitating the introduction of QoS control at the time of network design based on the result of selecting and determining QoS control used for the purpose.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Real-time application quality such as video conferencing and VoIP is very sensitive to degradation of network quality, and when burst traffic such as WWW and FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is mixed on the same packet network, easily influenced. Also, WWW and FTP are easily affected by transfer quality due to real-time applications. In order to reduce these influences, a number of QoS controls are conventionally applied.
[0003]
Conventionally, studies on network design for a plurality of applications have been performed (see, for example, Non-Patent Document 1).
As the QoS control method, various methods such as WFQ (Weighted Fair Queueing), CBQ (Class Based Queuing) (for example, see Non-Patent Document 2), WRED (Random Early Detection) (for example, see Non-Patent Document 3), and the like. Has been devised.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, many QoS control schemes have been devised, and which QoS control scheme to use is determined based on experience, so there is a problem that it is ambiguous and labor intensive.
[0006]
In addition, there is no index that quantitatively shows the effect on the end-to-end quality of the application due to the introduction of QoS control, and detailed examination under limited conditions is performed by experts each time, so network design and management -It is difficult to select and change the operational QoS control method and to determine the amount of input traffic.
[0007]
Furthermore, although the network design for a plurality of applications has been studied, the introduction of QoS control guidelines and the determination method have not been studied.
[0008]
Further, each of the above-mentioned methods such as WFQ, CBQ, WRED has an effective range, and there are advantages and disadvantages in the characteristics of the operation. In addition, since the effect also changes depending on the traffic amount and type in the network, there is a possibility that appropriate QoS control that uniquely satisfies the required quality of the application in the network cannot be determined.
[0009]
The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and a QoS control method selection method capable of determining a quantitative and visual QoS control selection guideline and an evaluation measure for knowing the effect of introducing the QoS control in a comparatively easy manner. And an apparatus.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]

The process includes a process of obtaining a value that maximizes the common area of the obtained effective areas of the respective applications .
[0013]

[0016]
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to quantitatively obtain the introduction effect of the QoS control method in the number of users accommodated by determining the QoS control selection guideline and the evaluation scale for knowing the introduction effect of the QoS control. In addition, by comparing the QoS control, it is possible to make a decision to introduce the QoS control.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0018]
First, the premise (assuming) for selecting the QoS control method of the present invention will be described.

[0033]
First, the definition in the following description is shown.
[0034]
Definition 1: The traffic flowing in the network is VoIP, video, and WWW.
[0035]
Definition 2: The traffic volume is represented by the number of VoIP flows, the number of Video flows, and the number of WWW connections.
[0036]
Definition 3: The following is given as a measure of end-to-end application quality.

In the following description, the application is referred to as AP.
[0038]
As shown in FIG. 3, a certain multi-service network N in which VoIP, Video, and WWW are mixed, and terminals (users) that generate traffic for each AP exist in the vicinity, and these terminals use the AP.

Hereinafter, in the case where the QoS control is not performed, first, an application example regarding the selection scale will be described. FIG. 4 is a flowchart of QoS control method selection processing according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0043]
Step 101) Normalization of traffic volume:
The input
[0044]
[Expression 1]
At this time, the input traffic of i has an upper limit on the number of flows corresponding to the total bandwidth used for the QoS control target line. Therefore,
0 ≦ VoIP input traffic (number of flows) ≦ 6Mbps / 80kbps = 75
0 ≦ Video input traffic (number of flows) ≦ 6 Mbps / 1 Mbps = 6
It becomes.
[0045]
The WWW does not need to be viewed by the number of sessions, and can be determined by the bandwidth used for the line, so the input traffic ratio ρwww is not considered.
[0046]
Step 102) End-to-end AP quality measurement:

[0054]
As described above, the application region R, which is a selection measure for each QoS control method, is obtained using the same method for other QoS control.
[0055]
Next, a comparison with no QoS control (effect of introducing QoS control) will be described.
[0056]
(1) From FIG. 8 and FIG. 13, the application areas of FIFO and DiffServ are RFIFO and RDiffServ. Since this application region Rm (where m: FIFO, dIFFServv) can be obtained by a scalar quantity of the area U with the

Thus, using DiffServAF rather than FIFO in network N is more effective because end-to-end AP quality can be maintained in a wider traffic parameter range.
[0060]
The present invention can also be implemented by a control means such as a CPU by constructing the processing of the flowchart shown in FIG. 4 as a program and installing it from a communication line or storage medium.
[0061]
The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modifications and applications can be made within the scope of the claims.
[0062]
