この種の装置としては、例えば、特開昭62−271733号公報に開示されているように、角筒状ブランクを水平姿勢に保持する4つの放射状ホルダを有し、ホルダが第1〜第4ステーションを順次経由して移動させられるように駆動されるターレットと、ブランクをその注出口を下向きにした水平姿勢で第1ステーションのホルダに保持させるローダと、口栓を第2ステーションのホルダに保持されたブランクの注出口にその内側から挿入する口栓供給装置と、第3ステーションのブランクの注出口に挿入された口栓のフランジを注出口内縁部にシールするシール装置と、第4ステーションのホルダからこれに保持されたブランクを排出するアンローダとを備えているものが知られている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記装置では、第2ステーションにおいて、ホルダに保持されているブランクの注出口は右を向いており、この状態で注出口に口栓が挿入される。この後に、ホルダが第2ステーションから第3ステーションに移動すると、注出口は上向きになる。この移動の際に、注出口への口栓挿入が不十分であると、注出口から口栓が抜け落ちる恐れがある。

この発明による口栓取付装置は、角筒状ブランクにあけられた注出口にフランジ付口栓を取付ける装置であって、ブランクを水平姿勢に保持するホルダを有しかつ第1〜第4ステーションを順次経由して上向きにのびた搬送経路を有するブランク搬送バーチカルコンベヤと、ブランクをその注出口を下向きにした水平姿勢で第1ステーションのホルダに保持させるローダと、口栓を第2ステーションのホルダに保持されたブランクの注出口にその内側から挿入する口栓供給装置と、第3ステーションのホルダに保持されたブランクの注出口に挿入された口栓のフランジを注出口内縁部にシールするシール装置と、第4ステーションのホルダからこれに保持されたブランクを排出するアンローダとを備えているものである。
