Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a weather strip mounted on a door frame of an automobile door.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, a weather strip W is attached to the entire periphery of the automobile door provided with the door frame 2. Since the weather strip W is attached to the door frame 2 and is in pressure contact with the door opening edge along the roof side 3 including the front pillar 36 or the rear pillar 38 of the vehicle body, the other portions have different cross-sectional shapes. Separately formed extrusion weather strips W 1 and W 2 are connected by molding.
[0003]
FIG. 4 shows a typical example of a weather strip that is attached to the door frame 2 and pressed against the door opening edge 30 along the roof side 3. The weather strip W 1 is attached to the end face 21 of the door frame 2. Base 5, a hollow main seal portion 6 that bulges from the base portion 5 and presses against the side surface 31 of the door opening edge 30, and a lip that extends from the base portion 5 and has a tip pressed against the outer edge portion 32 of the door opening edge 30. The sub seal part 7 is provided. The sub seal portion 7 includes a rear lip 71 that branches from the middle of the sub seal portion 7 and presses against the inner surface of the protruding edge 22 of the door frame 2. On the other hand, there is a sub seal portion formed in a hollow shape having a substantially circular cross section, like the main seal portion 6.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, since the tip end portion of the lip-shaped sub-seal portion 7 is not stable and unstable, the lip-shaped sub seal portion 7 may be wound inside the vehicle when the door is closed as shown in FIG. Further, the tip end portion of the sub seal portion 7 has a small gap width between the outer edge portion 32 of the door opening edge 30 and the tip end of the protruding edge 22 forming the outer peripheral edge 23 of the door frame 2 due to variations in door construction. In some cases, the outer edge portion 32 may be pushed out to the outside of the vehicle. In either case, the sealing performance is deteriorated and the appearance around the door frame 2 is impaired.
[0005]
On the other hand, when the sub-seal portion is formed in a hollow shape, the above-described winding and popping out are reduced, but the door closing force is increased as compared with the lip-shaped sub-seal portion. Therefore, if the entire hollow sub-seal part is made thin so as to increase the door closing force, it is irregularly deformed when the door is closed, and the sealing performance is not stable.
[0006]
Therefore, the present invention has an object of providing a door weather strip having a hollow sub-seal portion that does not cause irregular deformation and can maintain a door closing force as small as a lip type. is there.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In the present invention, the sub seal portion of the door weather strip is formed in a hollow shape. The sub seal portion is formed with a side surface portion on the inner side of the vehicle having a substantially S-shaped cross-section with an intermediate portion bulging in the hollow inward direction and thinner than the side surface portion on the outer side of the vehicle. The top surface portion that contacts the outer edge portion of the edge is formed thinner than the side surface portion outside the vehicle and thicker than the side surface portion inside the vehicle, and the connecting portion between the top surface portion and the side surface portion outside the vehicle is the other portion. Form thinner than. By forming the sub seal part in this way, when pressed against the door opening edge, the sub seal part bends in a swinging manner in the vehicle interior direction with regularity. Moreover, the press-contact state to the door opening edge of a top surface part is stable.
[0008]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Taking the front door as an example, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, a weather strip W is formed by connecting extruded sponge rubber weather strips W 1 , W 2 by molding at the entire periphery of the door 1. The weather strip W 1 attached to the door frame 2 is pressed against the door opening edge along the roof side 3 including the front pillar 36 of the vehicle body.
[0009]
As shown in FIG. 1A, the weather strip W 1 includes a base 5, a hollow main seal portion 6, and a hollow sub seal portion 8. The base 5 is thinned, and is clipped to the outer peripheral end surface 21 of the door frame 2 at a predetermined interval and fixed by a double-sided adhesive tape 9. The main seal portion 6 is located on the vehicle inner side with respect to the sub seal portion 8 and is pressed against the side surface 31 of the door opening edge 30 of the vehicle body when the door is closed. The base of the side surface portion 82 on the vehicle exterior side of the sub seal portion 8 is connected to one end of the base portion 5, and the root of the side surface portion 81 on the vehicle interior side is connected to the side surface portion on the vehicle exterior side of the main seal portion 6. A top surface 83 connecting 81 and 82 is received by the outer edge 32 of the door opening edge 30 of the vehicle body when the door is closed. The upper end portion of the side surface portion 82 outside the vehicle is brought into contact with the inner surface of the distal end portion of the protruding edge 22 of the door frame 2 in a weather strip attached state. The side surface portion 81 on the vehicle inner side extending from the top surface portion 83 to the connection portion with the main seal portion 6 has an S-shaped cross section in which an intermediate portion bulges in the hollow inward direction.
[0010]
The thickness of the sub seal portion is the largest between the base of the side surface portion 82 on the vehicle outer side and the contact portion with the front end of the door frame protruding edge 22. The side part 81 inside the vehicle is thin and easy to deform. Further, the connecting portion 84 between the top surface portion 83 and the side surface portion 82 on the outside of the vehicle is also thin and easy to deform. The thickness of the top surface portion 83 is slightly thinner than the side portion 82 on the outside of the vehicle, and thicker than that of the connecting portion 84 and the side portion 81 on the inside of the vehicle.
[0011]
When the door is closed, the top surface portion 83 of the sub seal portion 8 comes into contact with the outer edge portion 32 of the door opening edge 30 of the vehicle body. Until the door is completely closed, the connecting portion 84 bends and bends so that the intermediate portion of the side surface portion 81 inside the vehicle further enters the hollow inward direction, and the sub seal portion extends from the intermediate portion to the connecting portion 84. The head of 8 is crushed and deformed while slightly tilting in an inward direction. In this case, since the top surface portion 83 is thicker than the connecting portion 84 and the side surface portion 81, the outer edge portion 32 is simply not deformed irregularly with the deformation of the connecting portion 84 and the side surface portion 81. Deforms following the shape. Therefore, the sub seal portion 8 regularly repeats the same deformation every time the door is closed.
[0012]
Thus, in the weather strip W 1 , the gap width variation between the outer edge portion 32 of the door opening edge 30 of the vehicle body and the outer peripheral edge 22 of the door frame 2 is different from that of the connecting portion 84 of the sub seal portion 8. Absorbed by deformation of the side surface portion 81. When the sub seal portion 8 is pressed against the outer edge portion 32, the sub seal portion 8 is deformed in a swinging manner toward the inner side of the vehicle, so that it does not jump out of the vehicle regardless of the gap width variation. Further, since the connecting portion 84 and the side surface portion 81 facilitate bending, the door closing force is not increased. Further, the side wall (side portions 81, 82) that blocks between the door opening edge 30 and the door frame 2 is doubled with respect to the lip type sub-seal portion, and the intermediate portion of the side portion 81 faces when the door is closed. Since the head of the sub seal part 8 is close to the closed section in the vicinity of the part 82, the sound insulation from the outside of the vehicle is also improved.
[0013]
The present invention is not limited to a front door, and can be applied to a weather strip that is attached to a door frame of a rear door and press-contacts a door opening edge along a rear roof side including a quarter pillar. The weather strip can be attached to the door frame not only with the double-sided adhesive tape, but also with a retainer provided on the outer peripheral end surface of the door frame, or the outer peripheral end surface itself can be formed into a retainer shape and attached thereto. .
[0014]
【The invention's effect】
By using the door weather strip according to the present invention, the door weather strip does not increase between the door frame and the door opening edge of the vehicle body along the roof side, and the door weather strip is not irregularly deformed. It can be sealed with good appearance and good sealing properties.
