BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus such as a scanner, a copying machine, or a serial printer, and more particularly to a mounting structure for a flat flexible cable having one end connected to a scanning unit (image reading means) that reciprocates within a housing of the apparatus body.
[0002]
[Prior art]
An image reading means (ISU) configured to redirect a light beam corresponding to image data by a plurality of reflecting mirrors and then guide it to a CCD or other photoelectric conversion unit via an imaging optical system is mounted. And a carriage that reciprocates within the main body, one end is fixed to the image reading means side and the other end side is fixed to the image reading means side, and a reading signal and power are supplied and transmitted between the image reading means and the
[0003]
The flat flexible cable used for this type of input device has to be lengthened corresponding to the reciprocating movement in the main body housing of the image reading means (ISU), so that the flexible cable can read the image. When the means is moved, it bends in a U-shape and comes into contact with the flexible cable body housing and the image reading means, damaging the flat flexible cable and further increasing the load during carriage travel. This deteriorated the reading quality, and caused malfunction and short circuit. Various structures have been proposed in order to solve such a problem, but there are many cases where the flat flexible cable is fixed at an intermediate position in the search range (reciprocating range) of the reading means.
Further, double-sided tape is used for fixing such a flat flexible cable (FFC), and it takes time for assembling, and remodeling is very difficult.
Further, due to the variation in the length of the flat flexible cable, there was a concern about the sticking position, the excess of the wire, or the sticking too much.
[0004]
In order to eliminate such drawbacks, for example, in Patent Document 1 (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 7-321973), the flexible member having a length substantially equal to the flat flexible cable and the inner peripheral length of the bent portion formed by the cable. The flexible member is arranged at substantially the center of the moving region of the scanning body so as to bend along the inner peripheral surface of the bending portion when the distance from the bending portion formed by the cable to the scanning body is maximum. There is a technique that is disposed in a fixed portion on the apparatus main body side in the vicinity.
[0005]
However, in such a technique, the fixing member protrudes from the apparatus main body, and the fixing member thus protruded may be rubbed when the flat flexible cable slides on the base surface of the apparatus main body, resulting in damage. For this reason, in the prior art, the above-mentioned drawback is solved by a flexible member that supports the bending of the cable. However, using such a flexible member leads to an increase in the number of parts.
[0006]
There are also various techniques for fixing a flat flexible cable. For example, in Patent Document 2 (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 11-261276), it is possible to easily fix and remove a ferrite core from a flat cable, which has been extremely laborious until now, and to the equipment. In order to prevent a given impact from being directly applied to the ferrite core, a flat-shaped ferrite core having a slit-like hole through which the flat cable FC is inserted, and an opening / closing covering the ferrite core by exposing the slit-like hole The case includes a flexible case, and the case integrally includes a coupling portion for fixing to the mounting device side.
However, even in such a technique, an openable / closable case covering the ferrite core protrudes from the mounting device base, and the flat flexible cable may be rubbed when the apparatus main body base surface slides, resulting in damage.
[0007]
Further, Patent Document 3 (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-336857) discloses a technique of covering a flat cable with a heat-shrinkable tube and further fixing the heat-shrinkable tube with a fixing band and a fixing tool. However, since the fixed band is used, the protruding portion from the main body base side is flattened, but there is no doubt that the protruding portion exists, which is an equivalent technique.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
An object of the present invention is to provide an image input device that can easily fix a flat flexible cable (hereinafter referred to as FFC) and can flexibly correspond to a fixing position.
Another object of the present invention is to prevent the FFC from being rubbed when the apparatus main body base surface is slid to be damaged.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve such a problem, the present invention provides an image forming apparatus including a flat flexible cable having one end connected to a scanning unit that reciprocates within a scanning range in a housing of the apparatus body.
The flat flexible cable is provided with a first recess which the upper on the housing base to extend opened, present in forward direction downstream side from the center position of the scan range of the recess of the first is run査unit, A fixing means for fixing the flat flexible cable is provided at the formation position of the recess,
Further, the first concave portion is provided on a belt-like concave portion provided on the housing base and extending along the flat flexible cable laying direction .
[0011]
The scanning unit redirects a light beam corresponding to image data in the image input device by a plurality of reflecting mirrors, and then guides the light to a CCD or other photoelectric conversion unit via an imaging optical system. Or an optical system unit that optically scans a laser corresponding to image data of a copying machine or an electrophotographic printer with an Fθ lens. It is also possible to configure.
[0012]
Therefore, according to the present invention, the moving light scanning unit preferably moves in the forward direction from the center position of the scanning range of the scanning unit of the flat flexible cable in order to reciprocate the scanning range in the housing of the apparatus body. The flexible cable is connected to the scanning unit because it is fixed in the first concave portion located slightly downstream, in other words, the fixed portion is housed in the first concave portion without protruding from the housing base. Even if the housing base is slid following the reciprocating motion, the flexible cable is not damaged without being rubbed against the edge portion or the like of the fixed portion.
Moreover, since the upper part of the first recess is open, a part of the flexible cable can be dropped, and the fixing means can be inserted into the recess from above to stop the FFC. I can do it.
[0013]
Further, the first recess is provided on the band-shaped recess extending along the FFC laying direction, so that the FFC is positioned in the width direction at the band-shaped recess. In order to slide the housing base, the position of the flexible cable (FFC) is not affected by variations in the length of the cable, and the reciprocating motion is restricted at the same position, so there is no problem such as sagging or tension. It can be supported, and even if the flexible cable follows the reciprocating motion of the scanning unit and slides in the first recess, the fixing portion is further located in the belt-like recess on the back side. It will not damage the cable.
[0014]
In addition, the cable fixing part is fixed at the first concave part located further back than the belt-like concave part of the housing base. In other words, even if the fixing part is somewhat thick, it is fixed at the rear side of the two-stage concave part. In addition, there is no risk of protruding above the housing base, and the entire housing can be flattened.
[0015]
The fixing means to the first recess is an elastic plate such as a resin body, a fiber body, a metal body, or a paper body, and the elastic plate is engaged with the engaging portion on the first recess side. By comprising the joint part, particularly the detachable engaging part, the detachability is improved and the assembly cost can be reduced. Further, the engaging portion may be a detachable engaging convex portion that engages with an engaging concave portion provided on the first concave portion side wall.
That is, according to such a configuration, it is possible to fix using the side walls of the recess and both ends in the width direction of the fixing means, and a special attachment member for fixing the fixing means to the base side becomes unnecessary, and The elastic plate can be easily attached and detached by reducing the width by curving in the width direction. The elastic plate is preferably an elastic plate having no edge in the reciprocating direction of the flexible cable without damaging the flexible cable.
In addition, since the fixing means to the concave portion is composed of a ferrite material or a noise prevention member including the ferrite material, unnecessary radiation from the flat cable can be reduced, and the peripheral circuit malfunctions or is disposed outside. The influence on the device can be prevented.
In this case, the fixing means has a magnetic force because of the ferrite material. For this reason, for example, if a magnet body is attached to the bottom of the first recess, the fixing means can be detached from the first recess using the magnetic force. It is held freely.
It is also effective that the fixing means for the flexible cable is an elastic pressing plate that elastically supports the cable, and the pressing plate is made of a material having higher bending strength than the flexible cable.
[0016]
And by attaching a sponge body to the lower surface of the pressing plate, the FFC can be held securely with a flexible structure.
As a result, even when the flexible cable is reciprocated, a positional shift occurs, and even if an excessive tensile force is applied, the shift is allowed within a certain range, and the flexible cable is not broken. Further, the holding plate is made of a material having higher bending strength than the flexible cable, and the pressing force is urged by the sponge, thereby further eliminating the possibility that the fixing means is released due to the tensile force of the flexible cable.
Further, the other end of the flat flexible cable after being fixed by the fixing means is pulled out of the housing base at a position in the middle of the scanning range of the scanning unit downstream in the forward movement direction of the first recess. There is no risk of accidental contact with the scanning unit downstream of the fixed position.
