本発明は、カードと接続するカードコネクタに関する。

この種のカードコネクタは、主に、携帯電話機、携帯情報端末(PDA)、及びデジタルスチルカメラ(DSC)等の携帯機器に実装され、ICカード又は通信カード等のカードの接続に使用される。これらの携帯機器は、その特質から、取り扱い時に誤って落とすなどにより、衝撃力を受けることが多い。その衝撃力はカードを介してコネクタのコンタクトに伝わる。コンタクトは携帯機器の筐体や基板に半田付け接続されているので、衝撃量が全てその半田付け部にかかり、半田付け部を破壊することがある。

しかしながら、特許文献1に記載されたコネクタは、コネクタ本体に追加部品であるゴムを貼り付けたり充填したりしなければならないため、コネクタ組立て時に余分な手間が必要となり、価格の上昇につながる。また、品質的にもゴムは温度の変化によりやわらかさが変わるため、常に一定の衝撃緩和力を維持できないといった欠点がある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明の一態様によれば、カードと接続するカードコネクタであって、前記カードの挿入を案内するフレーム部と、前記カードに接続するコンタクトを保持したベース部とからなり、前記フレーム部と前記ベース部とは互いに着脱自在に係合保持されるものであり、前記フレーム部は天板部と一対の側板部とを有し、前記側板部は前記カードの挿入を案内するガイド溝を有し、前記コンタクトは前記ベース部から前記一対の側板部間の中央部に突出し、前記天板部の一部を切り曲げることにより、前記ベース部及び前記側板部の近傍に突出する少なくとも1つの突起を設け、前記ガイド溝に案内され挿入された前記カードの側部の挿入側端面が前記突起に当接することで、前記コンタクトに接続された前記カードの挿入方向への移動が阻止されるようにしたことを特徴とするカードコネクタが得られる。

図示のカードコネクタは、携帯電話機、携帯情報端末(PDA)、及びデジタルスチルカメラ(DSC)等の携帯機器に実装され、ICカード又は通信カード等のカードの接続に使用されるものであり、フレーム部1とベース部2とからなる。通常、フレーム部1とベース部2は別々に携帯機器に実装される。携帯機器に実装された際に、ベース部2はフレーム部1の一端近傍部3に対向するように位置付けられる。フレーム部1の一端近傍部3にはナット4が固定されている。

フレーム部1は、携帯機器の筐体又はそれに固定された基板等の取付対象物と平行にのびる天板部5と、この天板部5の対向側縁から下方に向けて直角に曲がった両側板部6とを有している。天板部5の一端近傍部3に相当する部分には、ベース部2と同一側、即ち、下方に向けて突出する少なくとも一つ(ここでは二つ)の突起7が形成されている。また各側板部6には、カードの挿入を案内するために天板部5と平行にのびたガイド溝8と、携帯機器の筐体又は基板に固定される固定部9とが設けられている。

突起7は、図2に示すように、フレーム部1の天板部5の一部を切ってその内側部分を下方へほぼ直角に折り曲げることにより形成されたものである。ガイド溝8に案内されつつ挿入されたカード10は、その挿入端を突起7に係止される。したがって、カード10に加わる外力は突起7で受け止められる。

ベース部2は、カードに電気的に接続するための導電性の複数のコンタクト11と、それらのコンタクト11を配列させて保持した細長いインシュレータ12とを有している。コンタクト11は上述した取付対象物の回路パターンに半田付けされ、これによりベース部2を固定する。インシュレータ12はその長手方向両端部にそれぞれフランジ部13を有している。フランジ部13には、ナット4に対向する部分に貫通穴14が形成されている。貫通穴14に挿通されたビス又はボルト(図示せず)をナット4にねじ込むことにより、フレーム部1とベース部2は互いに着脱自在に係合保持される。
