本発明は、ボールの球面に鎖の網を設けた、球技用のボールである。

これまでのスポーツ用のボールは一般に弾性をもち、弾みが特徴のひとつであった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
従来の球技用のボール（特に野球、テニス、サッカーなどで使われるボール）でキャッチボールをするとき、次のような欠点または制約があった。
（イ）ボールに弾性があるため、受け取る手のひらからボールが弾き飛ばされやすい。
（ロ）ボールがバウンドしやすく、また、遠くまで転がって行くので、エラーボールを捕りに行くのに手間がかかる。
（ハ）質量の大きいボールの場合、ボールを捕らえるとき、素手では衝撃が大きいので、グラブを使用しなければならない。
（ニ）質量の小さいボールの場合、投げたときの手ごたえ、スピード感が物足りないし投球距離も小さい。キャッチするときの手ごたえ、てのひらへの衝撃の感触が物足りない、吸収性も少ないので弾かれてエラーしやすい。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は上記課題を解決するため、第１に、母体となるボールのまわりをくるむように網を設ける。網は鎖または鎖素子により網状につないだものか、あるいは、ゴムまたは合成樹脂で網状に成形加工したもので、この成形加工されたボール状の網は可撓性が大きく、指先で軽く潰れるほどの柔らかさで反発弾性が小さい。第２に、このボールの母体はマシュマロのようにフワフワとした柔らかさで軽く、高収縮性、高柔軟性であり、さらに、反発弾性が小さい素材である。本発明の球技用のボールの全体の重量は、外皮となる網がそのほとんどを占め、母体の重量は計量に値しないほど、網との比較において微量である。

【発明の実施の形態及び実施例】
本発明のボールの構成は、一定の大きさと形をもたせるために、マシュマロのようにフワフワした発泡性素材を母体としているが、この母体はパンヤのような繊維状の素材でもよい。また、この母体が必ずなければならないものでもない。しかしこの場合、ボールの外皮部としての網の感触だけで、ボール全体としてフワッとした感触はない。

本発明に使われるボールの母体をくるむ網の構成で、網目のつなぎ部分のつなぎ環を鎖でつないで形成する鎖の網と、これに代るものとして、網目のつなぎ部分のつなぎ環を可撓性のある合成樹脂でつないで形成する鎖状の網がある。

以下、図面について本発明の実施例を詳細に説明する。図１は本発明の球技用のボールの実施例を示すもので、ボールの母体と該母体を網でくるんだ状態の平面図、図２は同上要部の鎖素子による場合の網目のつなぎ部分２の拡大斜視図である。

網は図１に示すように３２面体模様状の網１で、５角形と６角形の組み合わせによる幾何学的模様、つまり、サッカーボールの縫い目の模様状に構成される。網目のつなぎ部分２は５角形および６角形の頂点にあたるところであるが、３２面体全体では頂点の数は６０、これらの頂点からそれぞれ３方向に辺を発し、隣 の頂点に連結している。

図２は網目のつなぎ部分２で、鎖素子による場合の連結を示している。リング状の鎖素子であるつなぎ環３ａにより、鎖４ａ，４ｂ，４ｃを三方向につなぎ、隣の角の頂点にあるつなぎ環に連結している。３２面体模様の全体では６０のつなぎ環と、これらに連結する鎖４ａ‥により網１が構成され、球面をくるんだものである。

本発明の球技用のボールは、主にキャッチボール用として新しい感覚のボールを開発したものであるが、本発明の特徴および効果を踏まえ、その他の遊び方および利用について下記に示す。
（イ）手のひら、指などへの感触が良いと云う特徴を生かし、手のひらと指で遊ぶ「感触健康ボール」。
（ロ）手のひらになじみやすく、感触も快いという特徴を生かし、ゴム紐を付けて遊ぶ「ヨーヨー遊び」。
（ハ）可撓性のある網は形が変形し易いと云う特徴を生かし、フリスビーのように回転をかけて投げると、遠心力で空飛ぶ円盤のような形になって飛んでいく「フリスビー遊び」。（この場合、網は大きめにし、中に入れる母体を無くするか、または、小さくするとか、円盤形などにすると効果は大きい）
（ニ）ボールの網目などに指先が引っかかり易いという特徴を生かして、鉤の付いた的に投げて引っ掛けて遊ぶ「的投げ遊び」。
（ホ）手のひらになじみやすく、感触も快いという特徴の他に、母体をくるむ網は幾何学的な模様の美しさもあり、全体的に小型化して、アクセサリーとしての 実用性がある。
