BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a destination printing method and apparatus for printing a customer barcode in a new mail processing system accompanying the enforcement of a new postal code system on a print object as a part of the destination.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As is well known, on February 2, 1998, a new postal code system was implemented to promote the efficiency of the postal service, and a new postal processing system was introduced accordingly. In this new mail processing system, the address is divided into an address A up to the postal administrative district / town area name and an address B after that, and the address A is numbered as a new 7-digit zip code, and the address B is numbered as an address display number ( Each is coded and handled. That is, when a bar code (hereinafter referred to as “customer bar code”: see FIGS. 23 to 26) printed by the sender (sender) with black or dark blue ink is printed on the mail (FIG. 27B) and (See (d)), the customer bar code is read. On the other hand, when the customer bar code is not printed (see FIGS. 27 (a) and (c)), the post office side has a transparent or extremely light color. By processing the intra-office bar code and ID bar code printed with this special ink, and mechanizing the process of arranging the mail items in the order of delivery based on them, the processing of the mail items is made more efficient. When the sender sends a certain number or more of mail, if the customer barcode is printed at the destination, the postage is discounted.
[0003]
In addition, in order to promote and expand efficiency (mechanization) using the above-mentioned new mail processing system, documents such as the “New Postal Code Manual” have been promulgated by post offices, etc., including customer barcode specifications, Method for extracting address display number from document information of address B, flowchart for automatically realizing it (that is, generating customer barcode from 7-digit zip code and address B by software etc.) 29). Then, in a printing apparatus capable of recent destination printing (hereinafter referred to as “destination printing apparatus”: including, for example, a personal computer or a word processor installed with destination printing software), for example, processing according to the above-described flowchart is performed. In addition to conventional destinations, software that can be added and printed with a customer barcode corresponding to the destination by adding or re-installing software has been released.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in the above-described flowchart for generating the customer barcode, the customer barcode is generated based on the document information of the address B of the address (address A + address B) in addition to the zip code. In other words, the above-described flowchart of customer barcode generation is for promoting the introduction of a new postal processing system, and a destination printing device for an old postal code processing system built on the basis of a five-digit postal code system, It is a flowchart of the transition period for making it transfer so that it can respond to a new mail processing system. Correspondingly, in the above-mentioned various destination printing apparatuses, the postal code of the destination printing for the old postal code processing system is changed to 7 digits, and an inquiry is made as to whether or not the user selects the presence of the customer barcode. (Or prepare an option for selecting the presence of a customer barcode), and when the presence of a customer barcode is selected, the customer barcode is generated and printed according to the process of the flowchart for generating the customer barcode described above. I am doing so.
[0005]
However, in these conventional destination printing apparatuses, the customer barcode is basically generated based on the document information of the address B. Therefore, even if the sender knows the address display number, or from the character information of the address, Even if the address display number can be easily extracted, the customer barcode cannot be generated unless the address B is input in detail as a document. In other words, even if the new mail processing system is promoted, the address display number becomes more well-known, and the printing of the customer barcode is further generalized, the customer barcode is generated if the address B is not entered in detail as a document. I cannot print. Further, an extra processing time for extracting the address display number based on the address B and an extra memory capacity (for the software etc.) are required. In this sense, it can be said that these destination printing apparatuses are also in transition.
[0006]
In the present invention, when the new mail processing system is promoted, the address display number becomes more known, and the printing of the customer barcode is further generalized, while reducing the extra processing time and the extra memory capacity, It is an object of the present invention to provide a destination printing method and apparatus capable of easily generating a customer barcode and performing destination printing including the customer barcode.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The address printing method of the present invention includes a postal code input step of inputting a 7-digit postal code indicating a postal administrative district / town area, and an address number input step of inputting an address display number indicating an address lower than the postal administrative district / town area. In an address input process for arbitrarily inputting an address composed of a postal administrative district / town area and a lower address, a customer barcode generation process for generating a customer barcode based on a postal code and an address display number, and an address input process When the address is input, the postal code and the address are included in the customer barcode, and are printed on the object to be printed without including the address display number. When the input of the address is omitted, the postal code and the address are displayed in the customer barcode. And a destination printing step for printing on a print object including a display number.
[0008]
The destination printing apparatus according to the present invention also includes a postal code input means for inputting a 7-digit postal code indicating a postal administrative district / town area, and an address number for inputting an address display number indicating an address lower than the postal administrative district / town area. An input means, an address input means for arbitrarily inputting an address composed of a postal administrative district / town area and a lower address, a customer barcode generating means for generating a customer barcode based on the postal code and the address display number, and an address input When the address is input by means, the postal code and the address are included in the customer barcode, and are printed on the print object without including the address display number. When the address input is omitted, the postal code is displayed in the customer barcode. And a destination printing means for printing on a print object including an address display number.
[0009]
In principle, in the new mail processing system, if a 7-digit postal code and an address display number are written (printed), it is possible to deliver mail. Further, in principle, the customer barcode can be generated as long as the 7-digit zip code and address display number information are provided. Therefore, in the future, as in the e-mail address description that has begun to be generalized, it is 7 digits as the accompanying information in the address field of the sender of the mail or as the accompanying information in the address field of your business card. It may be possible to write an address display number in combination with the postal code. Moreover, there is a possibility that a postal code book including an address display number similar to the current telephone number book is issued.
[0010]
In other words, if the new mail processing system is promoted, the address display number becomes more known, and the printing of customer barcodes becomes more generalized, it will be easier to directly input the address display number with its numerical value. Is predicted. Further, if an address display number is directly input, a customer bar code can be generated based on the address display number. Therefore, an extra process for extracting an address display number based on an address lower than the postal administrative district / town area (ie, address B) No time or extra memory capacity (for software etc.) is needed. In addition, if the postal code is described in the old postal code processing system, it is possible to omit the prefectural name, etc. It may be possible to omit the description.
[0012]
Here, if the sender knows the address display number of the destination, or if the address of the destination can easily extract the address display number in the head from the character information, that is, the new mail processing system is promoted, the address display If the number becomes more well known and customer bar code printing becomes more common, entering the address display number directly reduces the extra processing time and extra memory capacity, making it easier You can generate a code and print a destination containing it.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, a tape printing apparatus to which an image printing method and apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention are applied will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. First, FIG. 1 is a block diagram of a control system of the tape printer.

The tape T is composed of a base tape, an adhesive layer applied to the back surface of the base tape, and a release paper tape attached to the adhesive layer. The base tape is a paper having a paper or a coat layer, or a coat layer. It is made of a material that can sufficiently absorb ink such as film. The adhesive layer is for attaching a printing tape as a label to an object to be attached such as a file, and the release paper tape is for preventing dust and the like from adhering to the adhesive layer. Various types of tape T having a tape width of about 4.5 mm to 48 mm are prepared and provided in a state of being accommodated in the

[0071]
In general, when a postal matter or a thing to be attached to a postal item is a print target, the postal matter has a predetermined size, and the size of the print area is also limited. Further, due to the size limitation, the first destination print size that is the size of the print area of the first destination print and the second destination print size that is the size of the print area of the second destination print are vertically And at least one of the sides may be the same size. Further, at least one of the first destination print size and the second destination print size is set to the same size, the same size side is set to the width direction, and the length (tape) is long in the longitudinal direction perpendicular thereto. If the destination is printed as a thing to be affixed to the mail, the destination subject is printed by simply cutting the longitudinal direction, regardless of whether the first or second destination is printed. An object (for example, a sticker or a label to be attached) can be obtained.

In the new mail processing system introduced from February 2, 1998, in principle, delivery of postal items is possible if a 7-digit postal code and address display number are written (printed). .
[0082]
Here, if the sender knows the address display number of the destination or can easily extract the address display number in the head from the character information of the address of the destination, that is, the new mail processing system is promoted, the address display number If the customer bar code becomes more common and the printing of customer barcodes becomes more generalized, it is predicted that it will be easier to directly input the address display number using the numerical value. In this case, since the 7-digit postal code indicating the postal administrative district / town area is already well known, the address display number indicating the address lower than the 7-digit postal code postal district / town area (ie, address B). It is also easy to directly enter a numerical value as bar code numerical information. In addition, if you directly enter an address display number or numeric bar code information that combines it with a postal code, you can generate a customer bar code based on it, so an address based on an address (address B) that is lower than the postal administrative district / town area. Extra processing time for extracting the display number and extra memory capacity (for the software etc.) become unnecessary.
[0083]
On the other hand, in the example described above with reference to FIG. 8, the 7-digit zip code indicating the postal administrative district / town area and the address lower than the postal administrative district / town area are shown as the barcode numerical information for generating the customer barcode. The address display number is directly input by the numerical value (T40 to T42). In the present embodiment, as described above, when the registration is completed, a confirmation screen for the registered destination information is displayed (T60), and the cancel key 326 causes the screen to transition to the selection screen for the upper layer (first layer). However, when the registration is completed, the screen may be changed (returned) to the selection screen of the upper hierarchy (first hierarchy), or may be immediately displayed on the text input screen (T10 in FIGS. 3 and 4). The screen may be changed (returned). However, in the present embodiment, the destination information can be confirmed immediately after registration by displaying the confirmation screen (T60), and the upper layer (first layer) selection screen (T61: same as T11 in FIGS. 3 and 4) is displayed. Since the screen transitions (returns), when the destination information is to be corrected, “correct destination” is selected, and the registration number to be corrected is selected in the same manner as the above “address registration” (similar to T20 to T21 in FIG. 4). However, it is possible to make corrections by specifying the correction location with the cursor K by operating the cursor key 330 and scrolling the display screen in the same manner as the above confirmation screen (T60). . If you want to check the destination information again, select “View Address”, select the registration number to be checked in the same way (the registered registration number is an option), and operate the cursor key 330 to display the display screen. You can confirm by scrolling. If you want to perform destination printing immediately, select “address printing”, which will be described later, and select all or part of the registered registration numbers as registration targets (the registered registration numbers are options) Can print.

As described above, in the new mail processing system, in principle, a customer barcode can be generated as long as a 7-digit postal code and an address display number are present. As described above, the

Next, address (destination) printing will be described. FIG. 13 shows a processing flow of address (destination) printing. For example, as shown in FIG. 14, when the “address printing” described above in FIG. 3 is selected and displayed (T12: common with FIG. 3), when the user presses the

Next, as shown in both FIGS. 13 and 14, in a state (T70) in which the print target selection screen for the second-layer address printing is displayed, the user is in the first-layer selection screen. Similarly, any option (here, “partial” or “all”) is selected and displayed by operating the cursor key 330 (in this case, “partial” or “all”) (T70, T73: T73 is the same as FIG. 15), and the

Hereinafter, the destination image creation / printing & destination label creation (S23 (S27)) will be described in more detail. In this process, as shown in FIG. 16, first, an input (registered) destination information print target item (see FIG. 12) is recognized (S231), and there is a name (when the name is not omitted). ) Is given as print information (see FIG. 18 (a)), and when there is a company (company name) (when the company is not omitted), “Gochu” is given (FIG. 18 (b)). )) (S232). In addition, when both the company (company name) and the name are present, the “middle” may be omitted.
[0103]
Next, it is determined whether or not there is a bar code (bar code numerical information) (S233). If there is bar code numerical information (S233: Yes), then a bar code for printing a customer bar code is displayed. A code image is generated (customer bar code generation: S234). When the customer barcode generation process (S234) is started, as shown in FIG. 17, first, barcode numerical information is read (S2341), and it is determined whether or not there are 20 characters (S2342). When it is less than the character (S2342: No), the control code CC4 is added to the end (S2343), and the data for the barcode character (see FIG. 24) is created. Thereafter, a check digit (CD) is calculated (see FIG. 23 and FIG. 24) and added (S2344). Based on the data (see FIG. 25 and FIG. 26), customer barcodes are arranged (S2345). Based on the barcode font (such as bitmap data) for the character, a barcode image (see FIG. 23) is developed and created (S2346), and the process (S234) is terminated (S2347).
[0104]
As shown in FIG. 16, when the customer barcode generation (S234) is completed, the first destination printing size corresponding to the first destination character size defined as shown in FIG. A destination image (see FIGS. 20A and 20B) including a customer barcode is created and printed so as to match the destination print size. A destination label is created by printing (first destination printing: S235), and the processing (S23) is terminated (S237). On the other hand, when there is no barcode numerical value information (S233: No), the second destination printing, which is the size of the print area of the second destination printing, based on the second destination character size defined as shown in FIG. According to the second destination printing, a print image of destination printing (see FIGS. 20C and 20D) that does not include the customer barcode is created and printed so as to fit the size, and the tape is cut. A destination label is created (second destination printing: S236), and the processing (S23) is terminated (S237).
[0105]
As described above, barcode numerical information can be generated from the postal code and address display number, so the address display number is set as a direct input item (registered item) and the barcode numerical information is generated immediately before generating the customer barcode. It is also possible to generate a customer barcode (see FIGS. 21A and 21B). In this case, when the address display number is input (S233: equivalent to Yes), the first destination printing is performed as the destination printing including the customer barcode in the destination (corresponding to S235 in FIG. 16, FIG. 20 (a) ), (B) and FIG. 21), when the address display number is not input (corresponding to S233: No in FIG. 16), the second destination printing is performed as the destination printing that does not include the customer barcode. (Equivalent to S236 in FIG. 16, see FIGS. 20C and 20D).

Further, as described above, in the new mail processing system, in principle, it is possible to deliver a mail item if a 7-digit postal code and an address display number are described (printed). For this reason, if the postal code is described in the old postal code processing system, it is possible to omit the prefectural name, etc. so that the postal code and address display number are described in the new postal code processing system. It may be possible to omit the description. Therefore, an address display number may be included in the destination (see FIGS. 21C and 21D). As a result, it is possible to deliver mail. That is, even if printing of a detailed address (address A + address B) is omitted, a destination that can be delivered can be printed.

Further, as described above, the

In the above-described embodiment, an example of the thermal method has been described, but the present invention can also be applied to an ink jet method, a laser method, a dot impact method, and the like. In addition, as long as the destination is printed on the print object, the postal item itself may be used. For example, the print object may be used as it is or the printed part can be cut off, and glue (including bond etc.) may be used. For example, it can be applied to destination printing by a general printing apparatus. Of course, other modifications can be made as appropriate without departing from the scope of the present invention.
[0112]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the destination printing method and apparatus of the present invention, when the new mail processing system is promoted, the address display number becomes more known, and the printing of the customer barcode is further generalized, There is an effect that it is possible to more easily generate a customer bar code and perform destination printing including the customer bar code while reducing extra processing time and extra memory capacity.
