板ガムについては従来より、スライド式に一枚づつ押し出されるガムディスペンサが開発されていた。板ガムのディスペンサの構成の多くは、市販されている数枚重ねた板ガムを、ディスペンサの収納部に詰め直して、収納部の底からバネ等で押圧して最上段の板ガムをスライドさせる等の手段で一枚づつ取り出す構造であった。
