本発明は、多数の接続端子をそれぞれ収容した一対のハウジングを、回動レバーによって結合及び解除するためのレバー式コネクタに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
多数の接続端子を収容した一対のハウジング同士を結合及び解除するには、多大の力を必要とするため、レバー式コネクタを用いることが多い。図3は嵌合した状態のレバー式コネクタの側面図であり、相互に嵌合可能な第1のハウジング1と第2のハウジング2から成り、第1のハウジング1には軸3を中心に回動する回動レバー4が設けられ、この回動レバー4は第2のハウジング2を結合及び解除するためのカム溝5を備え、第1のハウジング1を跨ぐように設けられ、ほぼ左右対称の頂部に錠止用爪部6が形成されている。

上記目的を達成するための本発明に係るレバー式コネクタは、ハウジングに相手側ハウジングの被駆動ピンに作用してハウジング同士の結合及び解除するための回動レバーを備えたレバー式コネクタにおいて、前記ハウジングの外面に前記回動レバーの前方への過度の回動を規制する突片状の回動規制部を設け、前記回動レバーに回動の終了時点で前記回動規制部と嵌合する凹部を形成すると共に、前記回動レバーの先端部に錠止部材を付設し、該錠止部材を相手側ハウジングに設けた被錠止部に錠止して前記ハウジング同士を錠止することを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明を図1、図2に図示の実施の形態に基づいて詳細に説明する。
図1は第1のハウジングの斜視図である。レバー式コネクタは相互に嵌合可能な合成樹脂製の第1のハウジング11と第2のハウジングとから構成されているが、ここでは第2のハウジングの図示を省略している。第1のハウジング11には、軸12を中心に回動し第2のハウジングを第1のハウジング11側に引き寄せ又は押し出すための合成樹脂製の略コ字形の回動レバー13が、第1のハウジング11を跨ぐように設けられ、両側面には第2のハウジングの両側面に突設した被駆動ピンを導き込むカム溝14がそれぞれ形成されている。

第1のハウジング11の内部には、接続端子を収容する図示しない多数の端子収容孔が設けられている。また、第1のハウジング11の上面の両角部には、回動レバー13の反対方向のロック方向への所定以上の回動を規制する突片状の回動規制部15が設けられている。

回動レバー13の中央部には、第2のハウジングに設けられた錠止部と嵌合する鉤状の錠止部材16が設けられている。また、回動レバー13には回動レバー13がロック方向に回動した際に回動規制部15と嵌合する凹部17が形成されている。

以上説明したように本発明に係るレバー式コネクタにおいては、ハウジング同士が結合していない状態においても、回動レバーが所定角度以上に回動することがなく、回動レバーの機能損傷を防止し、組立て作業の際に回動レバーを元の位置に戻すなどの余分な手間を防止することができる。
