本発明は、廃棄物を溶融処理する廃棄物溶融炉内の炉内廃棄物の層高レベルをマイクロ波により測定する廃棄物溶融炉内の廃棄物の層高レベル測定装置に関する。

廃棄物には、一般廃棄物である都市ごみ、各種産業廃棄物、又はそれらを乾燥、焼却、破砕処理等によって得られた中間処理物、焼却灰やそれを一度埋め立て処理後、再度掘り起こした土砂分を含む埋め立てごみ、あるいは汚泥があり、これらの一般廃棄物や各種産業廃棄物等の廃棄物の処理方法として、廃棄物をシャフト炉式熱分解溶融炉内で、乾燥・予熱、熱分解、燃焼・溶融し、スラグ及びメタルとして取り出す廃棄物溶融処理方法がある。前記廃棄物溶融処理において、炉内の廃棄物の層高レベルを測定し、炉内の廃棄物の層高状況を把握し、層高状況に応じて溶融炉操業を行っている。

炉内の廃棄物の表面高さを測定する手段として、図3に示すようにシャフト炉式熱分解溶融炉1上に機械式ウインチドラム11を設け、先端に錘り12を付けたワイヤー13をウインチドラム11にて炉内に下降させて、ワイヤー13先端の錘り12が炉内の廃棄物の上面に載った時に発生するウインチの駆動力の変化を検出しウインチドラム11を停止させる。そして、ウインチドラム11の駆動装置に付属するモータの回転計から下降距離を算出する方式が広く使用されている。この方式は、連続測定ができないこと、炉内の高温ガス中に錘り12を下降させるため、ワイヤー13の切損や錘り12の脱落が発生して測定不可能となり操業トラブルとなる。

そこで、例えば、特開平9−89632号公報に、マイクロ波送受信装置により発信されるマイクロ波の反射波により廃棄物の層高レベルを測定する層高レベル測定装置が記載されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
従来から、マイクロ波を利用して容器内充填物の層高レベルを測定することは、広い産業分野で実用化されている。しかし、マイクロ波送受信装置のみを装備した測定装置では、熱ガスに対する保護手段がなされていないので、炉内を上昇する高温ガスの熱の影響を受けて測定装置が損傷したり、あるいは高温ガス中に含まれるダスト、油分や水分が付着してマイクロ波が減衰し、正確な測定ができなくなるという欠点がある。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1は本発明の廃棄物の層高レベル測定装置を廃棄物溶融炉に設置した状態を示す図で、シャフト炉式熱分解溶融炉1の上部にマイクロ波送受信装置3を備えた層高レベル測定装置2が設置される。層高レベル測定装置2は、多孔質セラミック板4により溶融炉1と遮断されている。マイクロ波送受信装置3から送信されたマイクロ波5は、廃棄物の表面で反射し、反射波6はマイクロ波送受信装置3で受信し、演算処理装置で廃棄物の層高レベルを測定する。
