本発明は、ワードプロセッサ(文書作成装置)、電子写真式複写機、プリンタ装置、ファクシミリ装置等の画像形成装置における単票用紙の供給装置の構造に関するものである。

従来、例えば、本出願人が先に提案した特開平7−112853号公報に開示されているように、プリンタ装置における本体ケースの上面前部寄り位置にキーボード等の操作パネル部を備える一方、前記操作パネル部より後方において、単票用紙Pを挿入して本体ケース内の印字部に向かって給紙するための給紙トレイを、本体ケースの上面に対して後傾斜状に保持させたり、本体ケースの上面から取り外しできるように構成するものがあった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、前記構成では、不使用時に給紙トレイを本体ケースから取り外せるものの、携帯式の画像形成装置にするには、給紙トレイを別途持ち運びしなければならず、嵩張ると共に取り外した給紙トレイを紛失するというおそれもあった。さらに、前記給紙トレイを取り外した跡の本体ケースの取り付け箇所の孔が開いたままになるから、別のカバー体が必要になるという問題もあった。

前記目的を達成するため、請求項1に記載の発明の単票用紙の供給装置は、文書作成装置やプリンタ等の画像形成装置における本体ケース内に、単票用紙を1枚ずつ印字部に供給する給紙部を備え、前記単票用紙を傾斜状に載置して前記給紙部に案内するための給紙トレイを、偏平状の主トレイ板と、該主トレイ板の上端部に回動可能に連結され、且つ主トレイ板の表面とほぼ平行状になる姿勢と、主トレイ板の表面に被さる姿勢とに折り畳み自在な補助トレイ板とにより構成し、 前記主トレイ板の表面には、給紙方向に沿って長手の用紙支持リブを突設し、前記補助トレイ板には、当該補助トレイ板の裏面を上にして主トレイ板の表面に被さる姿勢としたとき、前記用紙支持リブ箇所に被嵌する長孔を穿設したものである。

【発明の効果】
