Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a magnetic recording medium, and more particularly, to a magnetic recording medium having a function that cannot be erased and rewritten magnetically to prevent forgery, and that unauthorized reuse of the medium is impossible.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as one of means for applying magnetic information, a method of applying magnetic information by performing saturation writing on a magnetic layer using a magnetic head is generally well known. This method is an extremely simple method, but there is a problem that the applied magnetic information can be easily erased and rewritten by the read / write magnetic head, and the card can be easily altered.
[0003]
In order to deal with such a problem, for example, in order to prevent forgery of a card such as a prepaid card, for example, pre-formed fixed information including a predetermined magnetic pattern is previously formed on the card. Yes. This is intended to determine the authenticity of the card by reading a magnetic pattern formed in advance and determining whether a predetermined magnetic output signal is obtained.
[0004]
As a method for providing fixed information that cannot be magnetically rewritten, a method of forming a magnetic bar code having a predetermined pattern by silk printing or the like has been widely known.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, magnetic barcodes as fixed magnetic information that cannot be magnetically erased and rewritten use a printing method for forming the barcode pattern, and therefore cannot handle a large amount of pattern information. It is difficult to apply to the desire to change information. Further, it is not developed to digital magnetic information based on a specific modulation system, and cannot be said to be suitable for increasing the density of magnetic information. Furthermore, even if the information pattern can be formed with high density, it is difficult to obtain a stable magnetic output. Furthermore, it is one of the major elements that is necessary to be able to read card information as it is without modifying the hardware having a read / write function that has been used in the past.
[0006]
The present invention was devised under such circumstances, and its purpose is to provide digital magnetic information based on a specific modulation method, and the digital magnetic information cannot be rewritten and erased substantially. An object of the present invention is to provide a magnetic recording medium having digital magnetic information with extremely high security. It is another object of the present invention to provide a magnetic recording medium that can cope with an increase in the density of magnetic information, can change the magnetic information for each card, and can extremely easily produce a small variety of magnetic cards.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve such problems, the present invention provides a magnetic recording medium comprising a substrate and a magnetic layer formed on the substrate, the magnetic layer being arranged along the scanning direction of the magnetic head. A plurality of magnetic concavo-convex portions arranged so as to be continuous without being divided, and the magnetic concave portion or the magnetic convex portion is formed by physically removing a magnetic layer formed in a uniform thickness The magnetic concavo-convex portion forms digital magnetic information, and, as “one basic data value”, there is a magnetic concave portion or magnetic convex portion having a step change within one bit width, and “other basic data” The value ”is configured to be formed as digital magnetic information of the RZ (two-level) modulation method with a flat portion having no step change within one bit width.
[0011]
Moreover, as a preferable aspect, the said magnetic uneven | corrugated | grooved part is formed by physically removing a magnetic layer by irradiating a laser beam.

As gas lasers, rare gas ion lasers such as He-Ne laser, He-Cd laser, argon laser (0.488 μm continuous oscillation, 0.1-20 W); carbon dioxide laser (10.6 μm continuous oscillation, 1 W-10 kW) ); A metal vapor laser or the like can be used. The solid laser may be a ruby laser (0.6943 μm pulse oscillation, 10 to 1000 J), a pulsed solid laser such as an Nd glass laser (1.06 μm pulse oscillation, 10 to 1000 J), an Nd: YAG laser, or a ruby laser. Nd glass laser, Nd: YAG laser (1.06 μm continuous oscillation, 1 to 200 W), continuous excitation solid laser such as Nd: YAlO 3 laser, and the like can be used. Further, a dye laser, a Raman laser, a chelate laser, an Nd 3+ liquid laser, or the like can be used as the liquid laser, and a GaAs diode laser or the like can be used as the semiconductor laser.

Among these, a CO 2 gas laser with a wavelength of 10.6 μm (output 0.5 W to 20 W), an Ar gas laser with a wavelength of 0.488 μm (or 0.5145 μm) (output 0.5 W to 20 W), a wavelength of 1.06 μm Nd: YAG laser (output: 0.5 W to 20 W) is a preferred example. If the output of the laser becomes too large, the pattern will be inaccurate due to damage of the substrate due to high temperature or thermal contraction of the binder resin that constitutes the magnetic layer, while if the output is too small, sufficient pattern deletion will occur. Can not.

Next, a modification of the embodiment of the present invention described above will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view showing a second embodiment of the present invention, which corresponds to FIG. 2 (a). In the magnetic recording medium of the second embodiment shown in FIG. 6, the surface of the

As another embodiment, magnetic layers are stacked in a multilayer structure having different magnetic characteristics, and one of these layers is the non-rewritable digital magnetic information of the present invention, that is, “one basic data value”. As another example, a magnetic concave portion or a magnetic convex portion having a step change may be present within one bit width, and a flat portion having no step change may be present within one bit width as “other basic data values”. In this case, of course, a combination in which a hard magnetic layer and a soft magnetic layer are simultaneously laminated may be used. Further, in addition to the digital magnetic information by the rewritable uneven portion of the present invention, normal rewritable magnetic information may be placed in another magnetic layer.
[0041]
【Example】
Hereinafter, specific examples of the present invention will be shown to describe the present invention in more detail.
[0042]
Example 1
First, a magnetic paint having the following composition was prepared for forming the
[0043]
Composition of magnetic paint , magnetic powder (Ba ferrite) ... 41 parts by weight, polyurethane resin ... 7 parts by weight, toluene ... 25 parts by weight, methyl ethyl ketone ... 25 parts by weight, isocyanate curing agent ... 2 parts by weight ) As a card made of polyethylene terephthalate (thickness: 250 μm), and a magnetic paint is applied on the card in the form of stripes by gravure coat printing, and the magnetic layer is subjected to magnetic field orientation treatment. After drying, a magnetic layer (magnetic stripe) having a coating thickness of 10 μm and a coating length of 85 mm was produced.
[0044]
Next, using a Nd: YAG laser beam having a wavelength λ = 1.06 nm and an output of 5 W, the magnetic layer is partially physically removed in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the magnetic stripe to obtain a line width of 60 μm and a bit interval. Predetermined marking (formation of the magnetic recesses 21) as shown in FIG. 2A was performed under the conditions of 120 μm and a recording density of about 210 bpi.
[0045]
Further, a concealing layer ink composition having the following composition was applied onto the
[0046]
Covering layer ink composition / aluminum powder: 10.5 parts by weight, polyurethane resin: 4 parts by weight, methyl ethyl ketone: 50 parts by weight, toluene: 25 parts by weight, titanium oxide powder: 10.5 parts by weight When the magnetic information of the magnetic concavo-convex portion (magnetic concave portion) by the RZ (two level) modulation method was reproduced, it was confirmed that binary value data based on a predetermined modulation waveform could be reproduced. Further, the magnetic information by the magnetic concavo-convex portion (magnetic concave portion) cannot be erased and rewritten magnetically.
[0047]
【The invention's effect】
The effects of the present invention are clear from the above results. That is, the present invention is a magnetic recording medium comprising a substrate and a magnetic layer formed on the substrate, wherein the magnetic layer has a plurality of magnetic irregularities arranged along the scanning direction of the magnetic head. The magnetic concavo-convex portion forms digital magnetic information, and as one basic data value, there is a magnetic concave portion or magnetic convex portion having a step change within one bit width, As the “basic data value”, a flat portion having no step change is present within one bit width. Therefore, digital magnetic information based on a specific modulation method is written on the magnetic recording medium (magnetic layer) of the present invention, and the written digital magnetic information is substantially impossible to rewrite and erase. In addition, security can be improved. A predetermined modulation method can also be supported. Furthermore, it is possible to cope with the increase in the density of information patterns, and the magnetic information can be changed for each card, so that it is very easy to produce a large variety of small quantity magnetic cards.
