本発明は、上述の課題を解決するため、前面に吹出口と底面の反吹出口側に吸込口を備えた筐体の内部を、送風口を備えた仕切板により熱交換器室と送風機室とに区画し、同送風機室に、前記仕切板の送風口に吹出側を連通し内部に遠心ファンを収容したファンケーシングを設け、前記熱交換器室に、露受皿とその上部に気流方向に対し後傾させた熱交換器と、同熱交換器の上端に当接されるとともに前記筐体の吹出口に至る上部内壁に、断熱材を配設してなる空気調和機において、前記断熱材と前記熱交換器上端との当接部近傍に、前記熱交換器の結露水が前記断熱材を伝い前記吹出口側に流出するのを防止するトラップを設けてなるようにする。
