Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a waterproof structure of various boxes mounted on a vehicle such as an automobile, for example, a waterproof box provided in an engine room and containing an electrical connection box or the like.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As a conventional box waterproof structure, for example, one disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 1-58983 is known. In this waterproof structure, as shown in FIGS. 11 and 12, when the upper opening of the box body 20 is closed by the cover 21 and both are fixed, the box 21 is fixed in the groove frame 22 extending along the outer periphery of the lower end of the cover 21. The box-shaped sealing material 23 is pressed and compressed by the upper end 25 of the outer wall 24 of the box body 20 to seal the box.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the above conventional box waterproof structure, the box is sealed by pressing a part of the sealing material 23 at the upper end 25 of the outer wall 24 of the box body 20, so that the upper end 25 of the outer wall 24 is caused by variations due to tolerance of the outer wall 24. The position where the sealing material 23 is compressed and the amount of compression vary, and the waterproofing effect of the sealing material 23 may be reduced. Moreover, since the sealing material 23 is compressed by the upper end 25 of the narrow outer wall 24, the sealing area, that is, the contact area between the upper end 25 and the sealing material 23 is small, and a high waterproof effect cannot be obtained.
[0004]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide a waterproof structure for a box that can improve waterproofness and obtain a high waterproof effect.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, the invention according to claim 1, close a cover an upper opening of the box body, a waterproof box for sealing the annular sealing member interposed at the junction of the cover and the box body Then, an annular protrusion that presses almost the entire surface of the annular seal member is provided at one of the joints of the cover and the box body, and the annular seal member is compressed by the central flat portion of the annular protrusion. A central seal portion, an inner inclined seal portion that is compressed by the inner inclined surface portion of the annular protrusion, an outer inclined seal portion that is compressed by the outer inclined surface portion of the annular protrusion, and an inner cover of the annular protrusion. The inner circular seal portion having a circular cross section is compressed at the inner flat portion formed at the joint portion of the box body, and the outer flat portion formed at the joint portion between the outer cover of the annular protrusion and the box main body is compressed. Outside of circular cross section Constituted by a shape sealing portion, characterized in that interposed junction of the cover and the box body.
According to this configuration, when the upper opening of the box body is closed with the cover, the annular protrusion provided on one of the joints between the cover and the box body presses and compresses substantially the entire surface of the annular seal material. Therefore, the seal area, that is, the contact area between the seal material and the annular protrusion is significantly increased as compared with the conventional example, and a high waterproof effect is obtained.
[0006]
The invention according to claim 2 is characterized in that the other of the joint portion of the cover and the box body is an annular recess having a shape substantially matching the annular protrusion.
According to such a configuration, when the upper opening of the box body is closed with the cover, both surfaces of the sealing material are pressed by the annular protrusion and the annular recess, respectively, so that one surface of the sealing material in contact with the annular protrusion A large sealing area can be obtained not only on the side but also on the other side of the sealing material in contact with the annular recess, and the waterproofness is improved accordingly.
[0007]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, the annular protrusion includes a central flat surface portion that presses the central portion in the width direction of one surface of the sealing material, and inner and outer inclined surface portions that extend from the both ends of the central flat portion, respectively. It is characterized by having.
According to such a configuration, the annular protrusion presses and compresses the sealing material at the three locations of the central plane portion and the inner and outer inclined surface portions, so that the waterproofness is further improved. In addition, since the seal portion where the seal material and the annular protrusion come into contact is bent in a maze shape, water becomes more difficult to enter and the waterproofness is further improved.
[0008]
The invention according to claim 4 is characterized in that the annular protrusion is further provided with inner and outer plane portions respectively extending from the inner and outer inclined surface portions. According to such a configuration, the annular protrusions press and compress the sealing material at the inner and outer plane portions in addition to the above three locations, so that the waterproofness is further improved.
[0009]
In the invention according to claim 5, the cover is provided with a peripheral wall having an annular groove fitted to the peripheral wall so as to cover at least the inner surface and the outer surface in the vicinity of the upper end of the peripheral wall of the box body, and the upper end of the annular groove and the box body The upper end of the peripheral wall is the joining portion that joins via a sealing material.
According to such a configuration, when the upper opening of the box body is closed with the cover, the annular groove of the peripheral wall of the cover is fitted to the peripheral wall of the box body so as to cover at least the inner surface and the outer surface near the upper end of the peripheral wall of the box body, In addition, since the sealing material is compressed between the upper end of the annular groove at the highest position of the fitting portion of both peripheral walls and the upper end of the peripheral wall of the box body, water does not easily enter the sealing portion by the sealing material and is waterproof. The property is further improved.
[0010]
The invention according to claim 6 is characterized in that the peripheral wall of the cover extends to the vicinity of the lower end of the peripheral wall of the box main body, and is fitted to the peripheral wall so as to cover the entire inner surface and outer surface of the peripheral wall of the box main body.
According to such a configuration, the fitting length between the peripheral wall of the cover and the peripheral wall of the box body is increased, and water is less likely to enter.
[0011]

An annular protrusion 9 is provided on the upper end of the peripheral wall 5 of the box body 2 (one of the joints between the cover 2 and the box body 1) to press almost the entire lower surface (one surface) of the annular seal material 4. . As shown in FIG. 2, the protrusion 9 includes a central flat surface portion 9 a that presses the central portion in the width direction of the lower surface of the sealing material 4, an inner inclined surface portion 9 b that extends at an inclination from both ends of the central flat surface portion 9 a, and It is formed in the trapezoid shape which has the outer side inclined surface part 9c. The protrusion 9 is further provided with an inner flat surface portion 9d and an outer flat surface portion 9e extending from the inner inclined surface portion 9b and the outer inclined surface portion 9c, respectively.
[0016]
The upper end of the annular groove 6 of the cover 3 (the other of the joints) is an annular recess 10 having a shape substantially matching the annular protrusion 9. That is, the concave portion 10 includes a central flat surface portion 9a of the annular protrusion 9, a central flat surface portion 10a facing the inner inclined surface portion 9b and the outer inclined surface portion 9c, and an inner inclined surface portion 10b and an outer inclined surface portion 10c. It has a trapezoidal recess, and an inner flat surface portion 10d and an outer flat surface portion 10e that face the inner flat surface portion 9d and the outer flat surface portion 9e of the annular protrusion 9, respectively.
[0017]
The annular sealing material 4 shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 is fixed to the annular recess 10 of the cover 3. The sealing material 4 is made of rubber, elastomer, rubber sponge or the like. Further, the sealing material 4 is compressed between the central seal portion 4a compressed between the central flat portions 9a and 10a of the protrusion 9 and the concave portion 10, and between the inner inclined surface portions 9b and 10b of the convex portion 9 and the concave portion 10. The inner inclined seal portion 4b, the outer inclined seal portion 4c compressed between the outer inclined surface portions 9c and 10c of the protrusion 9 and the recess 10, and the inner flat portions 9d and 10d of the protrusion 9 and the recess 10 An inner circular seal portion 4d having a circular cross section to be compressed and an outer circular seal portion 4e having a circular cross section to be compressed between the outer flat portions 9e and 10e of the protrusion 9 and the recess 10 are formed. Further, the central seal portion 4a is thicker than the inner and outer inclined seal portions 4b and 4c and has a substantially uniform thickness.
[0018]
In the waterproof structure of the box according to this example having the above-described configuration, the peripheral wall 7 of the cover 3 is fitted to the peripheral wall 5 of the box body 2, and the upper opening of the box body 2 is closed by the cover 3. Is fixed with a fixing tool (not shown) (see FIG. 1), the annular protrusion 9 of the peripheral wall 5 presses and compresses almost the entire lower surface of the annular seal member 4 fixed to the annular recess 10 of the peripheral wall 7. (See FIG. 2). Therefore, the sealing area, that is, the contact area between the annular sealing material 4 and the annular protrusion 9 is significantly increased as compared with the conventional example shown in FIGS.
Therefore, according to this example, the waterproof effect by the sealing material 4 does not become low due to the variation due to the tolerance of the peripheral wall 5 of the box body 2, and a high waterproof effect can be obtained by improving the waterproof property.
[0019]
Further, the upper end of the box body 2 is formed as an annular recess 10 having a shape substantially matching the annular protrusion 9 of the box body 2 at the upper end of the annular groove 6 of the peripheral wall 7 of the cover 3. When both are closed, both surfaces of the sealing material 4 are pressed by the annular protrusion 9 and the annular recess 10 at three locations indicated by arrows in FIG. That is, the central seal portion 4a of the sealing material 4 is compressed between the central plane portions 9a and 10a of the protrusion 9 and the recess 10, and the inner inclined seal portion 4b is compressed to the inner inclined surface portions 9b and 10b of the protrusion 9 and the recess 10. The outer inclined seal portion 4 c is compressed between the outer inclined surface portions 9 c and 10 c of the protrusion 9 and the recess 10. Therefore, a large seal area can be obtained not only on the lower surface side of the sealing material 4 in contact with the protrusion 9 but also on the upper surface side of the sealing material 4 in contact with the recess 10, and the waterproofness is improved accordingly. In addition, since the seal portion where the seal material 4 and the protrusion 9 are in contact and the seal portion where the seal material 4 and the recess portion 10 are in contact are bent in a labyrinth shape (in a trapezoidal shape), water is more difficult to enter. Thus, waterproofness is further improved.
[0020]
Further, in addition to the above three locations, the protrusion 9 also has inner and outer flat portions 9d and 9e which are connected to the inner and outer circular seal portions 4d and 4e of the sealing material 4 between the inner and outer flat portions 10d and 10e of the recess 10. Since each is pressed and compressed, waterproofness is further improved.
[0021]
In addition, the central seal portion 4a of the sealing material 4 is compressed between the central flat portions 9a and 10a of the protrusion 9 and the concave portion 10, so that a part of the central seal portion 4a becomes the inner and outer inclined seal portions 4b and 4c. To the side, and further to the inner and outer circular seals 4d, 4e side. Therefore, the waterproofness at each of the inner and outer inclined seal portions 4b and 4c and the inner and outer circular seal portions 4d and 4e is improved.
[0022]
Further, when the upper opening of the box body 2 is closed by the cover 3, the annular groove 6 of the peripheral wall 7 of the cover 3 is fitted to the peripheral wall 5 so as to cover the inner surface and the outer surface near the upper end of the peripheral wall 5 of the box body 2, Moreover, the sealing material is compressed between the concave portion 10 at the upper end of the annular groove 6 at the highest position of the fitting portions of the peripheral walls 5, 7 and the protrusion 9 at the upper end of the peripheral wall 5 of the box 4 body 7. Therefore, it is difficult for water to enter the seal portion by the seal material 4, and the waterproofness is further improved.
[0023]
FIG. 5 shows a modification of the waterproof structure of the box according to the above example. In this modification, the peripheral wall 7 ′ of the cover 3 extends to the vicinity of the lower end of the peripheral wall 5 of the box body 2 and is fitted to the peripheral wall 5 so as to cover the entire peripheral wall 5 of the box body 2. Other configurations are the same as the above example.
According to this modification, the fitting length between the peripheral wall 7 ′ of the cover 3 and the peripheral wall 5 of the box body 2 is increased, and water is less likely to enter. That is, even if water enters between the peripheral wall 7 ′ and the peripheral wall 5 of the box body 2 from the lower end side of the peripheral wall 7 ′, the height from the lower end of the peripheral wall 7 ′ to the position where the sealing material 4 is present is large. It is difficult for water to reach the sealing material 4 through the gap between the peripheral walls 5 and 7 '. Therefore, a very high waterproof effect can be obtained.
[0024]
In each of the above examples, an annular sealing material 11 having a rectangular cross section as shown in FIG. 6 may be used instead of the annular sealing material 4 shown in FIGS. By using this sealing material 11, the manufacturing cost can be reduced.
Further, in the example shown in FIG. 1 and the modified example shown in FIG. 5, instead of providing the annular protrusion 9 on the box body 2 side and the annular recess 10 on the cover 3 side, as shown in FIG. Alternatively, an annular protrusion 9A having the same shape as the annular protrusion 9 may be provided on the cover 3 side, and an annular recess 10A having the same shape as the annular recess 10 may be provided on the box body 2 side. In this case, the annular sealing material 4 shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 is used upside down as shown in FIGS.
Also by this modification, the same effect as each said example is acquired.
[0025]
Further, in the example shown in FIG. 1 and the modification shown in FIG. 5, as in the modification shown in FIG. 9, an annular protrusion 9 </ b> B having a semicircular cross section is provided on the box body 2 side and on the cover 3 side. An annular recess 10B having a semicircular cross section may be provided. The annular protrusion 9B is provided with inner and outer plane portions 9d and 9e similar to the annular protrusion 9. In the modification shown in FIG. 9, the annular sealing material 11 shown in FIG. 6 is used.
According to this modification, as in the above example, the annular protrusion 9B provided on the box body 2 side presses almost the entire sealing material 11 between the annular recess 10B provided on the cover 3 side. Since the compression is performed, the waterproof effect of the sealing material 11 is not lowered due to the variation due to the tolerance of the peripheral wall 5 of the box body 2, and the waterproof effect can be improved and a high waterproof effect can be obtained.
[0026]
Further, in the example shown in FIG. 1 and the modification shown in FIG. 5, as in the modification shown in FIG. 10, an annular protrusion 9 </ b> B having a semicircular cross section is provided on the box body 2 side and on the cover 3 side. An annular recess 10C having a trapezoidal cross section may be provided.
Also in this modification, as in the above example, the annular protrusion 9B provided on the box body 2 side is compressed by pressing almost the entire sealing material 11 between the annular recess 10C provided on the cover 3 side. Therefore, the waterproof effect by the sealing material 11 does not become low due to the variation due to the tolerance of the peripheral wall 5 of the box body 2, and the high waterproof effect can be obtained by improving the waterproof property.
[0027]
Further, in the above example shown in FIG. 1, the peripheral wall 7 of the cover 3 is eliminated, and the outer periphery of the cover 3 is joined via an annular protrusion 9 provided at the upper end of the peripheral wall 5 of the box body 2 and an annular sealing material 4. In addition, an annular joint having the same shape as the annular recess 10 may be provided, and the sealing material 4 may be compressed by the joint and the annular protrusion 9. Also with this configuration, it is possible to improve waterproofness and obtain a high waterproof effect.
[0028]
