近年、複写機等の多機能や紙資源節約等により、両面原稿が増えており、このため両面原稿から両面コピーを得る機会も多くなっている。そこで、従来の原稿送り装置において両面原稿から両面コピーを容易に得られるように、自動的に両面原稿の表裏とも露光できる反転機能を備えた装置(以下、ARDFという)が既に提案されている。このARDFにおける原稿の反転や排紙は、駆動する反転ローラを設けたターン部でターンしてから行うのが一般的であり、このため反転ローラは原稿に対する負担や駆動系にかかる負荷を考慮すると、その反転ローラの径をなるべく大きく取ることが好ましい。一方、複写機等の画像形成装置では小型化の要求が年々高まっており、このためARDFのターン径である反転ローラの径も小さくすることが要望されている。
