Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a disc-type recording / reproducing apparatus that records and reproduces images and the like using a disc that can be recorded and reproduced.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, disk-type recording / reproducing apparatuses for recording and reproducing video signals using a writable disk instead of a tape used as a video recording medium have started to appear on the market. As a disk used in such a disk type recording / reproducing apparatus, in addition to a hard disk, an optical disk such as an MO (magneto-optical disk) or a DVD (digital video disk) can be cited.
[0003]
In general, the first characteristic of the disk is high-speed accessibility. That is, the disk does not need to be rewound like a tape, and has a feature that any area can be quickly accessed by simply moving the head on the disk. This feature of the disc is a great advantage in terms of searchability.
[0004]
Another feature of the disk is that the disk medium is much more resistant to repeated recording than the tape medium. In tape media used in video tape recorders, the number of repeated recordings that can be repeatedly recorded on video tape is several tens to several hundreds at most, whereas in disk media, several hundreds of thousands to several times. One million times of repetitive recording is possible. The reason for this is that the recording head and the disk are not in contact with each other, and that the disk for digital recording has high error correction capability, so that deterioration can be suppressed.
[0005]
As described above, since the disc has a feature of being resistant to repeated recording, the disc type recording / reproducing apparatus has begun to be used as a time lapse device. Time-lapse devices are used for security at banks, post offices, convenience stores, etc., for monitoring trends in people and vehicles at stations and intersections, and for academic research. Is the security field.
[0006]
A disc-type recording / reproducing device used as a time-lapse device in the security field is usually used in a manner that performs endless repetitive recording on a disc while intermittently recording video as in the tape type. The repetitive recording here means recording many times from the beginning to the end of the disc. When recording from the beginning to the end (in other words, the entire surface of the disc), it means one repetitive recording.
[0007]
By the way, in general, a disk cannot be used unless it is first formatted (initialized). Data on the disk is initialized by formatting. Therefore, it is possible to initialize the disc by performing formatting even during use, and return it to a state where nothing is recorded like a new one.
[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the conventional disk type recording / reproducing apparatus has the following problems. For example, in a time lapse apparatus using a conventional disk type recording / reproducing apparatus, a disk is repeatedly recorded over a long period of time. And as described above, the disc is more resistant to repeated recording than the tape, and the image quality is not gradually deteriorated like the analog recording tape for digital recording. Can be used without
[0009]
In this way, the disc can be used without being replaced for a long period of time, but in digital recording, when the limit of the number of repeated recordings of the disc is exceeded, a phenomenon occurs in which errors increase rapidly and suddenly it becomes impossible to record To do. However, in the case of a disc, there is a problem that it is difficult to judge the replacement time of a medium in view of the degree of image quality deterioration like a tape, and it is difficult to judge when the disc becomes unusable.
[0010]
An object of the present invention is to provide a disc-type recording / reproducing apparatus that manages the number of times of recording so that a user can surely know that the disc is approaching deterioration.
[0011]
Another object of the present invention is to provide a disc-type recording / reproducing apparatus which prevents the newly recorded information from being read out due to the deterioration of the disc.
[0012]
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a disc type recording / reproducing apparatus capable of confirming the number of recordings up to the time of formatting.
[0013]
Still another object of the present invention is to provide finer recording depending on whether the disc is used as a rewritable disc that can be repeatedly recorded or as a pseudo write-once disc that can be recorded only once in a pseudo manner. It is an object of the present invention to provide a disk type recording / reproducing apparatus capable of managing the number of times.
[0014]
[Means and Actions for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the object, the invention according to
In a disc-type recording / reproducing apparatus using a recordable / reproducible disc,
Formatting means for initializing the disk, recording number recording means for recording the number of repeated recordings of the disk, display means for displaying the number of repeated recordings and errors, and the number of recordings set in advance during the repeated recording of the disk When the first predetermined number N is exceeded, an error is displayed by the display means, and when the used disk is initialized by the formatting means, the number of times recorded on the disk is preset. When the second predetermined number M (M is an integer of M ≦ N) or less, the recording number information recorded on the disc is left uninitialized, and exceeds the second predetermined number M. In some cases, control means for displaying an error by the display means is provided.
[0015]
In other words, the invention according to claim 1 records the number of times the disk is repeatedly recorded on the disk, manages how many times the disk has been repeatedly recorded, and displays an error display when the number of times the recording exceeds the first predetermined number N. Do. Further, since data is erased when the disc is initialized, the number of times of recording is not erased even at that time, and the number of times of recording exceeds a predetermined second predetermined number M at the time of initialization. An error message is displayed on the disc. As a result, not only during normal recording, but also when formatting is performed, it is possible to reliably manage the number of repeated recordings, accurately determine the deterioration status of the disc, and inform the user. Become.
[0016]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the disc-type recording / reproducing apparatus according to the first aspect, the control means performs recording prohibition or format prohibition simultaneously with the error display.

In general, when an optical disc is initialized, it becomes as good as a new one. Normally, the user cannot determine whether the optical disc has been used or not. For this reason, in the case of a used optical disc, it is preferable to display that the number of repeated recordings is small. However, for example, it is not convenient when compared with the first predetermined number N. For example, a disc that has been repeatedly recorded 9999 times has a smaller number of repeated recordings than the first predetermined number N. Therefore, if formatting is performed without giving an error display, the disc can actually be recorded only once after initialization. become. For example, when M is set to 9000 times smaller than N and compared with this, when trying to initialize a disc that exceeds 9000 times, an error is first displayed to indicate that the remaining number of recordings is small, and the user is displayed. Note that it is better to repeat the recording after initialization, and to further display an error when the recording count exceeds 10,000. Therefore, the second predetermined number M is set to an integer equal to or smaller than the first predetermined number N as described above.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the number of repeated recordings can be reliably managed not only during normal recording but also when formatting is performed, and the deterioration state of the disc can be accurately communicated to the user. As a result, the user can reliably know when to replace the disk and prevent troubles due to disk deterioration.
[0041]
In addition, according to the present invention, by performing recording prohibition and format prohibition at the same time as displaying an error, it is possible to eliminate the occurrence of trouble such that the data to be written cannot be read due to disk deterioration. .
[0042]
Further, when the formatting unit executes initialization of the disc, the number of recordings up to the time of formatting can be confirmed by recording the number of recordings already recorded on the disc as a history in another area. .
[0043]
Furthermore, a rewritable disc and a pseudo write-once disc can also be set in a disc-type recording / reproducing apparatus capable of setting whether to use the disc as a rewritable disc capable of repetitive recording or as a pseudo write-once disc that can be recorded only once in a pseudo manner. Thus, an advantageous effect that the number of times of recording can be managed more finely is obtained.
