【従来の技術】
従来から植物精油、例えば桧の精油には殺菌効果や精神の沈静作用がある事が知られている。また、陰イオンには、例えばイライラの解消や頭痛、肩凝り、不眠症などの解消に効果がある事が知られている。換言すれば、陰イオン濃度の小さい大気を呼吸しているとイライラや頭痛、肩凝り、不眠症などのストレスに襲われることになる。一般的な陰イオン濃度は、700〜1000個/cm3であるのに対して、大阪梅田周辺の空気の陰イオン濃度は約130個/cm3、新宿周辺の空気の陰イオン濃度は約60個/cm3、名古屋地下鉄周辺の空気の陰イオン濃度は約120個/cm3であるのに対して、道後温泉周辺の空気の陰イオン濃度は約2,200個/cm3、鳴子温泉周辺の空気の陰イオン濃度は約1,300個/cm3であり、都会の空気は陰イオン濃度が著しく欠乏している。また、オゾンにはその酸化力による殺菌作用がある事が知られている。
