Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a cylinder block of an internal combustion engine in which a plurality of cylinder liners each forming a plurality of bores are cast.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, as a cylinder block of an internal combustion engine formed by casting a cylindrical cylinder liner formed separately from a metal material, for example, a spiral or circumferential groove is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder liner And those whose outer peripheral surface is roughened by shot peening or the like to form irregularities on the outer peripheral surface.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the above conventional cylinder block, since the bonding force at the interface between the upper end of the cylinder liner and the cylinder block that is exposed to high temperature during engine operation is not sufficient, the bore is greatly deformed at the upper end of the cylinder liner, and the cylinder There was a risk that the liner would fall into the combustion chamber side.
[0004]
When the bore is greatly deformed, friction between the cylinder liner inner surface (bore wall), which is a sliding surface of the piston ring, and the piston ring increases, fuel consumption is reduced, and engine performance is reduced.
[0005]
Further, when the liner collapses, an air layer is formed between the cylinder liner and the cylinder block, and the thermal conductivity between the cylinder liner and the cylinder block is lowered. As a result, the temperature of the cylinder liner inner surface (bore wall), which is the sliding surface of the piston ring, cannot be sufficiently lowered, and the consumption of engine oil increases.
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and is a cylinder for an internal combustion engine that has improved engine performance by reducing engine oil consumption and fuel consumption by preventing liner collapse during engine operation and reducing bore deformation. The purpose is to provide blocks.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In the following, means for achieving the above object and its effects are described .
[0010]
The invention according to claim 1 is a cylinder block of an internal combustion engine in which a plurality of cylinder liners each forming a plurality of bores are cast, and an upper end surface of the cylinder liner that contacts the cylinder block is defined as an outer periphery of the cylinder liner. It is characterized by being formed on an inclined surface that is inclined downward from the surface side to the inner peripheral surface side.
[0011]
According to the present invention, since the upper end surface of the cylinder liner is inclined, the contact area at the interface between the upper end portion of the cylinder liner and the cylinder block increases, and the frictional force at the interface increases. And the cylinder block joining force increases.
[0012]
In addition to the increase in the joining force, if the inclined surface is inclined so as to be inclined downward from the outer peripheral surface side of the cylinder liner to the inner peripheral surface side, if a pressing force acts on the upper end portion of the cylinder liner, the inclined surface A component force is generated that pushes the upper end of the surface toward the cylinder block according to the angle of the surface. Therefore, the component force and the joining force between the cylinder liner and the cylinder block due to the increase in the area can further prevent the liner from collapsing during engine operation, and can further reduce the deformation of the bore. .
[0013]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the cylinder block of the internal combustion engine according to the first aspect, grooves having a predetermined depth or irregularities having a predetermined roughness are formed on the inclined surface.
[0014]
According to the present invention, the contact area at the interface is further increased by forming a groove having a predetermined depth or irregularities with a predetermined roughness on the inclined surface of the cylinder liner, so that the frictional force at the interface is reduced. Increase more. At the same time, since each of the grooves or the unevenness locks (prevents) the displacement of the cylinder liner with respect to the cylinder block, the cylinder liner is less likely to be displaced with respect to the cylinder block, and the joining force is further increased. Therefore, it is possible to further prevent the liner from collapsing during engine operation, and to further reduce the deformation of the bore.
[0022]
