【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a manganese dry battery, and more particularly, to a manganese dry battery in which a paste solution applied to a separator is improved and no mercury / cadmium is added.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A manganese dry battery is generally a paper line type in which a separator (separation layer) is disposed between a positive electrode mixture and a negative electrode zinc can. Such a separator plays a role in smoothly carrying out an electrochemical reaction by applying a paste on the side in contact with the negative electrode zinc can and sufficiently holding the electrolyte.
[0003]
Conventionally, a modified starch has been mainly used as a paste, and a polyvinyl alcohol, carboxymethyl cellulose, or a polyacrylic acid chloride is usually used as a binder with a separator. The separator is generally kraft paper.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
When applying the paste to the separator, the separator is obtained after applying the paste slurry, but the amount of paste applied to the resulting separator varies due to the change in the slurry viscosity of the paste, resulting in battery performance. Variation occurred. In addition, increasing the electrolyte holding capacity of the paste is an effective and reliable means for improving battery performance, but using a paste having a large electrolyte absorption capacity increases the slurry viscosity. Since workability deteriorated, it was not practical.
[0005]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and its purpose is to eliminate changes in the slurry viscosity of the paste liquid and to reduce variations in the amount of paste applied, thereby reducing variations in battery performance and adding no mercury or cadmium. It is to provide a manganese dry battery.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the manganese dry battery of
[0007]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the manganese dry battery according to the first aspect, the absolute dry density of the craft base material is 0.60 g / cm 3 or more.
[0009]
[0010]
According to
[0011]
Next, the operation of the present invention will be described.
In the present invention, methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol or a mixed liquid alcohol is used as a dispersion medium. Such a dispersion medium of alcohol can stabilize the slurry viscosity of the paste liquid by suppressing the swelling of the paste, and can be uniformly applied to the separating layer. The material used for the isolation layer is preferably kraft paper and has an absolute dry density of 0.60 g / cm 3 or more. If it is less than 0.60, the paste will permeate into the kraft paper, which may cause roughness on the paste surface of the obtained separator, which is not preferable for the battery. In addition, although the alcohol concentration needs to be adjusted depending on the paste used, it does not need to exceed 40% by mass with respect to the dispersion. If the amount exceeds 40% by mass, the volatility increases and the work becomes difficult and the production cost increases. Moreover, the effect is not acquired if it is less than 5 mass%. Furthermore, chemical guar gum can be blended in excess of 42.86% by mass with respect to cross-linked etherified corn starch by increasing the alcohol concentration. It is not preferable because it is connected. Methyl alcohol is dangerous if accidentally swallowed, but it is less expensive than ethyl alcohol.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail.
FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the present invention.
In the figure,

The
[0014]
Next, as a comparative example, the same operation as in the example was performed except that the alcohol concentration deviated from the range of the example and the craft base material having a density less than the range of the example was used. R20 type mercury-free manganese dry battery was made.
[0015]
Next, changes in the viscosity of the separator coating paste shown in the above Examples and Comparative Examples and changes and variations in the paste coating mass after drying were investigated. Further, the produced R20 type manganese battery was left at 20 ° C. for 10 days and then discharged at a constant resistance of 39Ω to 0.9 V for 4 hours a day to investigate the duration. Ten measurements were performed and the average value and variation were determined. The results are summarized in Tables 1 and 2.
[0016]
[Table 1]
[0017]
[Table 2]
[0018]
The viscosity was measured by using Viscotester VT500 manufactured by HAAKE Co., Ltd., using MVDIN as the sensor and using ShearRate of 75.0.
The substrate density was measured by taking a test piece of 1 m 2 in size and drying it in an electric dryer at 105 ° C. ± 3 ° C. for 3 hours, measuring the mass, and measuring the mass and thickness before drying. It was calculated by the following formula.
[0019]
[Expression 1]
[0020]
The measuring method of the paste application mass after the drying process is to take a test piece of 1 m 2 in size, dry it in an electric dryer at 105 ° C. ± 3 ° C. for 3 hours, measure its mass, It calculated with the following formula from the difference of the base-material mass before application | coating.
Application mass = (base material after drying + massage of paste) −base material mass before application
In addition, this invention is not limited only to above-mentioned Example, such as solid content in a paste liquid, Of course, it covers the matter described in the claim. The alcohol used in this example is deer first grade methyl alcohol manufactured by Kanto Chemical Co., Inc. Of course, the same effect can be obtained with ethyl alcohol. Furthermore, the crosslinked etherified corn starch used in this example is an etherified corn starch by phosphorous oxychloride crosslinking, but the same effect is obtained by trimetaphosphate crosslinking or epichlorohydrin crosslinking.
[0022]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, since it has become possible to use a highly absorbent electrolyte paste that could not be applied conventionally, the slurry viscosity change of the paste solution is eliminated, and the paste application amount variation Accordingly, it is possible to provide a manganese dry battery without addition of mercury or cadmium with small variations in battery performance.
