本発明は、肺活量測定やフローボリュームカーブ等のスパイロメトリーを測定する肺機能測定装置に用いるマウスピースおよびその製造方法に関する。

各種肺機能測定装置による測定では、装置と被測定者の気道を接続するためにマウスピースを口にくわえて呼吸をする。
このように用いられるマウスピースに、図6、図7、図8に示す如く、断面形状が一端が円形の装置との接続部1と他端が多少偏平のくわえ部2となっている筒体のシリコンゴム製による成形品の複数回使用のマウスピースがある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
このようなマウスピースによると、マウスピースの装置接続端の断面形状はいずれも、装置の接合部規格に合わせて内径が25mmの円形であるが、他端の口にくわえる端部の断面形状は、くわえ易くしかもマウスピースと唇との間から呼吸が漏れないように偏平な形状をしていることが望ましい。

このため、合成樹脂の成形品であるシリコンゴム製のマウスピースはそのような形状に成形することができるが、単価が高く、複数回使用するもので、使用する度に洗浄・消毒をして次の使用にそなえるものであり、その洗浄・消毒を完全に行うために非常な手間と時間が必要であると共にそのための経費の負担が大きいという問題がある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
そこで本発明は、紙管の一端に成型した矩形が紙の復元力で丸味を帯びて略楕円形に形成された扁平なくわえ部とし、そのくわえ部から他端の円形の接続部にむけて順次円形となる形状とした肺機能測定装置用マウスピースとし、さらに、その製造方法として所望径の円筒を紙管で形成し、その一端から断面形状矩形の成形型を挿入し、外側から押圧具で押圧することにより成型した矩形が紙の復元力で丸味を帯びて略楕円形の扁平なくわえ部を形成すると共にそのくわえ部から接続端に向けて順次円筒になるように成形することを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下に本発明の実施の形態例を図面を用いて説明する。
図1は斜視図、図2は正面図、図3は加工前の管体、図4は型枠の使用状態を示す説明図であり、図において、3は所望径の円筒の紙管であり、平巻きでも螺旋巻きでもよく、その表側はろうや樹脂等の溌水材をコーティングしたりしみ込ませたりして溌水加工した表装紙で覆って、口にくわえたときに唇がくっついたりマウスピースがぬれて変形しないようにしてある。

その紙管3の長さおよび径は適宜定めればよいが、本実施の形態例では長さ75mm、内径25mm、管厚さ0.5mmとしてある。
4は断面形状矩形の成形型であり、先部は上記紙管3内に挿入し易いように先端に向けて多少すぼめて細くしてある。本実施の形態例では成形に必要な成形部の寸法は厚さ10mm、幅30mmであり、長さは適宜である。

このような成形型4を紙管3の一端から挿入し、図5に示す如く、外側からクランパー等の押圧具7により幅方向(偏平方向)の両側を端部から所定の寸法、本実施の形態例では30mmにわたって押圧することにより、成形型4を挿入した端部が偏平に成形されてくわえ部5となり、他端の円形の接続部6に向けて順次円筒になる形に成形できる。この成形時に押圧力を適宜加減することによって、図2に示す如く、紙の復元力で成形後の矩形が丸味を帯びて略楕円形に成形される。

また、必要に応じてこの押圧具7による押圧の際に、厚さ方向もその形を保つために保持具で外側から保持してもよい。
なお、この成形型4を所望の形状に変えることによってくわえ部5を所望の形状に成形することが可能となる。
このようにして成形した紙管製のマウスピースによると、使用者が肺機能測定装置を使用するに際して、円形の接続部を装置に接続することによって使用することができ、使用後は廃棄処分される。
