TAUP=K*GN
TAU=TAUP*FAF*α+β
FAF←FAF+RSR
FAF←FAF−RSL
FAF←FAF+KIR
FAF←FAF−KIL
VOSHA←(15*VOSHA+VOSH)/16
VOSLA←(15*VOSLA+VOSL)/16
RSR←RSRB+RSROSC
RSL←0.1−RSR

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention controls the mixing ratio of air and fuel (air-fuel ratio (A / F)) to a desired value according to the operating state by supplying an appropriate amount of fuel according to the intake air amount in the internal combustion engine. The present invention relates to a device (air-fuel ratio control device) that performs the operation.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in an internal combustion engine for automobiles, as an exhaust gas purification measure, oxidation of HC (hydrocarbon) and CO (carbon monoxide), which are incomplete combustion components, reacts with nitrogen in the air and unburned oxygen. NO generatedxA three-way catalyst that simultaneously promotes the reduction of (nitrogen oxide) is used. In order to increase the oxidation / reduction ability of such a three-way catalyst, it is necessary to control the air-fuel ratio (A / F) indicating the combustion state of the engine to be close to the theoretical air-fuel ratio (window). Therefore, in the fuel injection control in the engine, an O that detects whether the air-fuel ratio is richer or leaner than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio based on the residual oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas.2A sensor (oxygen sensor) is provided, and air-fuel ratio feedback control is performed to correct the fuel amount based on the sensor output.
[0003]
In such air-fuel ratio feedback control, oxygen concentration is detected.2A sensor is provided as close to the combustion chamber as possible, that is, upstream of the catalytic converter.2In order to compensate for variations in the output characteristics of the sensor, a second O is provided downstream from the catalytic converter.2Double O with additional sensor2A sensor system has also been realized. That is, the exhaust gas is sufficiently agitated on the downstream side of the catalyst, and the oxygen concentration thereof is almost in an equilibrium state due to the action of the three-way catalyst.2Sensor output is upstream O2It changes more slowly than the output of the sensor, thus showing a rich / lean tendency of the overall mixture. Double O2The sensor system is located upstream of the catalyst.2In addition to the main air-fuel ratio feedback control by the sensor, the catalyst downstream side O2The sub-air-fuel ratio feedback control is performed by the sensor, and various constants for calculating the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient in the main air-fuel ratio feedback control are set on the downstream side.2By correcting based on sensor output or downstream O2By introducing a second air-fuel ratio correction factor based on the output of the sensor, upstream O2Variations in the output characteristics of the sensor are absorbed to improve the air-fuel ratio control accuracy (see, for example, JP-A-8-21283).
[0004]
For example, a double O in which the skip amount of the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient is made variable2Sensor systems are known. In this system, the main air-fuel ratio feedback control is performed on the upstream side O2When the air-fuel ratio sensed by the sensor is continuously lean or rich, the air-fuel ratio feedback correction coefficient is increased or decreased at a constant rate, and when it is reversed from rich to lean or from lean to rich, the air-fuel ratio feedback correction coefficient Is increased or decreased stepwise by a predetermined skip amount. On the other hand, in the sub air-fuel ratio feedback control, the rich skip amount of the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient when the upstream air-fuel ratio is reversed from rich to lean is set to the downstream O-fuel ratio feedback control.2When the air-fuel ratio sensed by the sensor is continuously lean or rich, it is increased or decreased at a constant rate, and when it is reversed from rich to lean or from lean to rich, it is increased or decreased in a stepped manner by a predetermined skip amount. Let me. The lean skip amount of the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient when the upstream air-fuel ratio is reversed from lean to rich is set so that the sum of the amount and the rich skip amount of the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient is maintained constant. .
[0005]
By the way, the three-way catalyst purifies exhaust gas by adsorbing excess oxygen when the exhaust gas is in a lean state and releasing insufficient oxygen when the exhaust gas is in a rich state. O2It has a storage effect.2The amount of storage is finite. The sub air-fuel ratio feedback control basically uses the catalyst O2The storage amount is controlled between zero and saturation. And O2The increase / decrease in the storage amount is basically determined by the integrated value of the product of the deviation amount of the air / fuel ratio from the theoretical air / fuel ratio and the intake air mass flow rate. When sub air-fuel ratio feedback control is continuing, downstream O2If the inversion of the sensor output is repeated, O2The storage amount substantially corresponds to the rich skip amount of the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, when the air-fuel ratio becomes rough due to a transition such as fuel cut, deceleration rich, acceleration lean, and other disturbances, the following problems occur. That is, if the sub air-fuel ratio feedback control is continued without stopping after the occurrence of the disturbance, the rich skip amount O2A learning error occurs in the storage amount. Eventually, the air-fuel ratio control accuracy deteriorates, and the exhaust gas purification performance also deteriorates. Further, if the sub air-fuel ratio feedback control is stopped for a certain period in order to maintain learning after the occurrence of disturbance, the exhaust gas purification performance deteriorates during the stop period.
[0007]
O2There is a problem that the storage amount suddenly reaches the saturation state immediately before the storage amount is saturated, and that the exit from the saturation state to the non-saturation state becomes slow, and the exhaust gas purification performance deteriorates. Moreover, the air-fuel ratio of the catalyst inflow gas at that time is in the vicinity of the leanest value. When the air-fuel ratio becomes rich, that is, O2The same problem occurs when the storage amount becomes zero.
[0008]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and its object is to provide instantaneous air-fuel ratio controllability and O when the air-fuel ratio becomes rough in a transient state.2An object of the present invention is to provide an air-fuel ratio control device for an internal combustion engine that realizes sub-air-fuel ratio feedback control that achieves both learning ability of storage amount.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, according to the present invention, there is provided an air-fuel ratio control apparatus for an internal combustion engine comprising a catalytic converter for purifying exhaust gas in an exhaust system, the upstream being disposed upstream of the catalytic converter. Side O2 A sensor and a downstream O disposed downstream of the catalytic converter2 A sensor,Downstream O 2 Based on the learning result of the output voltage of the sensor, the downstream O 2 Means for correcting the output voltage of the sensor to a relative voltage value that absorbs variations in characteristics;Control constant calculation means for calculating a control constant involved in air-fuel ratio feedback control, wherein the downstream side O2 SensorRelative voltage valueWhen the value indicates rich, the control constant is updated to a value such that the air-fuel ratio goes toward the lean side, while the downstream side O2 SensorRelative voltage valueWhen the value indicates lean, the control constant is updated to a value such that the air-fuel ratio goes toward the rich side, and the downstream side O2 SensorRelative voltage valueIn accordance with the control constant calculating means for correcting the control constant calculated by the control constant calculating means, and the upstream O2 Feedback correction amount calculating means for calculating an air-fuel ratio feedback correction amount according to the output of the sensor and the control constant; and air-fuel ratio adjusting means for adjusting the air-fuel ratio of the engine according to the air-fuel ratio feedback correction amount. An air-fuel ratio control apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided.
[0010]
Here, according to the present invention,The control constant correction unit is configured to connect the downstream O 2 When the relative voltage value of the sensor indicates rich, the control constant is corrected so that the air-fuel ratio goes to the lean side, and when the relative voltage value of the sensor shows lean, the control constant is corrected so that the air-fuel ratio goes to the rich side.
[0011]
Further, according to the present invention, there is provided an air-fuel ratio control apparatus for an internal combustion engine having a catalytic converter for purifying exhaust gas in an exhaust system, the air-fuel ratio control apparatus being disposed upstream of the catalytic converter, wherein the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is substantially reduced. An air-fuel ratio sensor for generating a proportional output voltage, and an O provided downstream of the catalytic converter2Sensor and said O2An air-fuel ratio sensor output voltage correction means for correcting the output voltage of the air-fuel ratio sensor according to a deviation from the target value of the sensor output voltage, and a deviation from the target value of the corrected output voltage of the air-fuel ratio sensor Feedback correction amount calculation means for calculating an air-fuel ratio feedback correction amount so that the air-fuel ratio becomes the target air-fuel ratio, and the O2Gain correction means for correcting a predetermined gain used in the feedback correction amount calculation means according to the output voltage of the sensor, and air / fuel ratio adjustment means for adjusting the air / fuel ratio of the engine according to the air / fuel ratio feedback correction amount An air-fuel ratio control apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided.

As shown in FIG. 6 (A), even when A / F changes from lean to rich, the value of the air-fuel ratio flag F1 (FIG. 6 (C)) does not immediately change from 0 to 1, and the counter CDLY Time until the value increases from 0 to TDR (T in FIG. 6C)1) Is held at 0 and T1It changes from 0 to 1 after elapse. Also, when A / F changes from rich to lean, the value of F1 is the time until the value of the counter CDLY decreases from 0 to TDL (TDL is a negative value) (T in FIG. 6C).2) Is held at 1 and T2It changes from 1 to 0 after elapse. For this reason, as indicated by N in FIG.2Even when the output of the
[0036]
As a result of the main air-fuel ratio feedback control, the value of the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient FAF repeatedly increases and decreases periodically as shown in FIG. 6D, and the engine air-fuel ratio changes alternately between the rich air-fuel ratio and the lean air-fuel ratio. As described with reference to FIG. 3, when the FAF value increases, the fuel injection time TAU increases, and when the FAF value decreases, the fuel injection time TAU also decreases.

Next, downstream O2The sub air-fuel ratio feedback control based on the output of the
[0038]
Among them, the sub air-fuel ratio feedback control for making the skip amounts RSR and RSL of the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient FAF variable is the richness of the engine air-fuel ratio when the RSR increases and the RSL decreases, as can be seen from FIG. On the contrary, when the air-fuel ratio shifts to the rich air-fuel ratio side as a whole and the RSR decreases and the RSL increases, the fluctuation width of the engine air-fuel ratio to the lean air-fuel ratio side increases. The engine air-fuel ratio is changed to the rich side or the lean side by increasing or decreasing the values of RSR and RSL based on the knowledge that the air-fuel ratio shifts to the lean air-fuel ratio side as a whole. Specifically, downstream O2When the air-fuel ratio sensed by the sensor is continuously lean or rich, the RSR is increased or decreased at a constant rate, and when reversing from rich to lean or from lean to rich, the RSR is stepped by a predetermined skip amount. Increase or decrease. The lean skip amount RSL of the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient FAF is set such that the sum of the RSL value and the RSR value is maintained constant.
[0039]
FIG. 7 shows the downstream side O in the conventional sub air-fuel ratio feedback control in which the skip amounts RSR and RSL of the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient FAF are made variable.2Sensor output voltage VOS, rich skip amount RSR and O2It is a time chart which illustrates the behavior of storage amount OSC. As described above, the sub air-fuel ratio feedback control is basically performed by the catalyst O 2.2The amount of storage is controlled between zero and saturation, and O2The increase / decrease in the storage amount is basically determined by the integrated value of the product of the deviation amount of the air / fuel ratio from the theoretical air / fuel ratio and the intake air mass flow rate. That is, downstream O2The sensor output signal is mainly the catalyst O2It is used as a signal for monitoring the storage amount, and the control amount of the air-fuel ratio feedback system is controlled based on the output.
[0040]
FIG. 8 shows the air-fuel ratio A / F when the disturbance (deceleration rich) occurs, the downstream O2It is a time chart which shows the behavior of sensor output voltage VOS and rich skip amount RSR. Conventionally, there have been cases where the sub-air-fuel ratio feedback control is continued without stopping (conventional technology I) and the sub-air-fuel ratio feedback control is stopped for a certain period (conventional technology II).
[0041]
As shown in FIG. 8, in the conventional technology I, the RSR is updated even immediately after the disturbance, and the air-fuel ratio correction for maintaining the exhaust purification performance is performed, but the correction amount is not sufficient. . Further, at the next VOS inversion, the undershoot of the RSR becomes large and the catalyst inflow gas becomes lean. And O2The learning ability of the storage amount is poor.
[0042]
On the other hand, in the conventional technique II, immediately after the disturbance, the RSR is not updated, and the air-fuel ratio correction is not performed. Also, the RSR undershoot at the next VOS inversion is somewhat improved. In addition, O2Although the learning ability of the storage amount is good as compared with the conventional technique I, it is not sufficient.
[0043]
Therefore, as shown in FIG. 8, the present invention corrects RSR sufficiently immediately after a disturbance, suppresses undershoot of RSR at the next VOS inversion, and further reduces OSR.2This is to maintain the learning ability of the storage amount well. Therefore, in the present invention, the downstream side O2A new correction amount for RSR is introduced based on the sensor output voltage VOS. Downstream side O2Although the sensor output voltage VOS or its smoothed value may be used, in this embodiment, O2To absorb variations in sensor characteristics, O2The sensor output voltage VOS is learned, and based on the result, VOS is converted into a relative voltage RVOS.
[0044]
FIG. 9 shows the downstream O2It is a figure for demonstrating learning of the output voltage VOS of a sensor. As shown in FIG. 9A, in the present embodiment, a high-side peak value VOSH and a low-side peak value VOSL of VOS are detected by a routine not shown.
VOSHA ← (15 * VOSHA + VOSH) / 16
VOSLA ← (15 * VOSLA + VOSL) / 16
The smoothed values VOSHA and VOSLA are calculated by the following calculation.
[0045]
Then, as shown in FIG. 9B, a straight line connecting the point (VOSLA, 0.1) and the point (VOSHA, 0.9) is drawn on the VOS-RVOS plane so as to satisfy this relationship. In addition, the relative voltage value RVOS with respect to the output voltage VOS is determined.
[0046]
FIG. 10 shows the downstream O obtained in this way.2It is a figure which shows the map for calculating | requiring correction amount RROSCR, RSROSCL with respect to RSR from sensor relative voltage value RVOS. According to the rich side map of FIG. 10 (A), when RVOS is large, that is, when it is rich, RSROSCR is negative, RSR is decreased, and the air-fuel ratio is directed toward the lean side. On the other hand, according to the lean side map of FIG. 10B, when RVOS is small, that is, when it is lean, RSROSCL is positive, RSR is increased, and the air-fuel ratio is made to be rich.

Thus,
[0050]
Also, step 316 is a downstream O2It is executed when the sensor output is rich both in the previous time and this time. In order to reduce RSRB to a relatively small value, a predetermined integral amount I is obtained from RSRB.L(<SL). In
[0051]
In
[0052]
Step 328 includes downstream O2Since it is executed when the sensor output indicates rich, a correction amount RSROSC corresponding to RVOS is determined with reference to the rich side map RSROSCR in FIG. On the other hand, in

RSR ← RSRB + RSROSC
To determine the FAF rich skip amount RSR to be used in the main air-fuel ratio feedback control.
[0054]
In
RSL ← 0.1-RSR
By performing this calculation, the FAF lean skip amount RSL to be used in the main air-fuel ratio feedback control is determined. In the
[0055]
FIG. 13 shows the downstream O in the case of the above control.2Sensor output voltage VOS, rich skip amount RSR, catalyst O2It is a time chart which shows the behavior of storage amount OSC and catalyst inflow gas air-fuel ratio. At the time when the VOS changes from rich to lean, the RSR in the present invention is equal to the base value RSRB obtained by the same calculation as that of the conventional RSR.2Since the correction amount RSROSC based on the sensor relative voltage value is added, it suddenly increases. As a result, the next inversion of VOS is also accelerated.
[0056]
Also, due to the rapid increase in RSR, the control air-fuel ratio shifts to the rich side more rapidly than in the prior art, and the catalyst inflow gas air-fuel ratio also becomes rich rapidly. Therefore, catalyst O2The storage amount OSC exits more quickly than the saturation zone as compared to the prior art. As a result, exhaust gas purification properties are improved.
[0057]
Next, the present invention is2A case of applying to a storage amount constant control system will be described. In recent years, internal combustion engines that control the air-fuel ratio have been developed so that the three-way catalyst can always exhibit a certain and stable purification performance. That is, three-way catalyst O2The storage capacity purifies the exhaust gas by adsorbing excess oxygen when the exhaust gas is in a lean state and releasing insufficient oxygen when the exhaust gas is in a rich state. Such capabilities are finite. Therefore, O2In order to effectively use the storage capacity, the amount of oxygen stored in the catalyst is set to a predetermined amount (for example, so that the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas may be either the rich state or the lean state next). , Half of the maximum oxygen storage) is essential, and if so maintained, it is always constant O2Adsorption / release action is possible, and as a result, constant oxidation / reduction ability by the catalyst is always obtained.
[0058]
Thus, in order to maintain the purification performance of the catalyst, O2In an internal combustion engine that controls the storage amount to be constant, for example, a global air-fuel ratio sensor (A / F sensor) capable of linearly detecting the air-fuel ratio is used, and feedback control (F / F) by proportional and integral operation (PI operation) B control) is performed. That is,
As a result, the feedback fuel correction amount is calculated.
[0059]
As can be seen from the equation for calculating the fuel correction amount, the proportional term is O2Similar to the feedback control by the sensor, it is a component that acts to maintain the air-fuel ratio in a stoichiometric manner, and the integral term is a component that acts to eliminate the steady-state deviation (offset). That is, due to the action of this integral term, O in the catalyst.2As a result, the storage amount is kept constant. For example, when lean gas is generated due to sudden acceleration or the like, rich gas is generated by the action of the integral term, and the effect of the lean gas generation is offset. Such O2Control that intentionally varies the air-fuel ratio in order to keep the storage amount constant is called counter control. In addition, such O2Even in a control system with a constant storage amount, in order to compensate for variations in the output characteristics of the A / F sensor, O2A sensor may be provided. And that O2The output voltage of the A / F sensor is corrected according to the deviation of the output voltage of the sensor from the target value.
[0060]
By the way, downstream O2If the sensor output indicates lean, catalyst O2There is a possibility that the storage amount is saturated, and basically it is desired to make the control air-fuel ratio rich. Under such circumstances, when a disturbance that makes the air-fuel ratio lean is generated, it is preferable that the counter control that makes the control air-fuel ratio rich is strong. On the other hand, when a disturbance that makes the air-fuel ratio rich occurs, weak counter control with a lean control air-fuel ratio is sufficient. Similarly, downstream O2If the sensor output is rich, the catalyst O2There is a possibility that the storage amount is zero, and basically it is desired to set the control air-fuel ratio to the lean side. Under such circumstances, when a disturbance that makes the air-fuel ratio rich occurs, it is preferable that the counter control that makes the control air-fuel ratio lean is strong. On the other hand, when a disturbance that makes the air-fuel ratio lean is generated, a weak counter control that makes the control air-fuel ratio rich is sufficient.
[0061]
Therefore, in the present invention, the downstream O214A and 14B are employed as a map for obtaining the gain correction coefficient from the relative voltage value RVOS of the sensor. FIG. 14A is used when the upstream A / F sensor senses a disturbance that makes the air-fuel ratio rich. In this case, the counter control makes the air-fuel ratio lean. According to FIG. 14A, the gain correction coefficient is made larger than 1 on the rich side of RVOS, while the gain correction coefficient is made smaller than 1 on the lean side of RVOS. Similarly, FIG. 14B is used when the upstream side A / F sensor senses a disturbance having a lean air-fuel ratio. In this case, the counter control makes the air-fuel ratio rich. According to FIG. 14B, the gain correction coefficient is made larger than 1 on the lean side of RVOS, while the gain correction coefficient is made smaller than 1 on the rich side of RVOS.
[0062]
Gain K by the gain correction coefficient shown in FIG.PAnd KIFIG. 15 shows the counter control in the case of correcting the above. As shown in FIG. 15A, the downstream O2In the case where the relative voltage value RVOS of the sensor indicates lean, when a disturbance that makes the air-fuel ratio rich occurs, counter control that makes the air-fuel ratio lean becomes weaker than in the prior art. As a result, NOxEmissions are reduced. In addition, as shown in FIG.2In the case where the relative voltage value RVOS of the sensor indicates rich, when a disturbance that makes the air-fuel ratio lean is generated, the counter control that makes the air-fuel ratio rich becomes weaker than in the prior art. As a result, CO and HC emissions are suppressed.
[0063]
As mentioned above, although embodiment of this invention has been described, of course, this invention is not limited to this, It is possible to employ | adopt various embodiment. For example, it is preferable to increase the correction amount as the intake air flow rate GA increases.2The correction amount may be obtained from a two-dimensional map of the relative voltage value of the sensor and the intake air flow rate GA.
[0064]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the instantaneous air-fuel ratio controllability and O when the air-fuel ratio becomes rough in a transient state.2Sub-air-fuel ratio feedback control that achieves both learning of the storage amount is realized.
