本発明は、ロータリエンコーダに関するもので、特に軸受部の密封構造に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来のロータリエンコーダは、ハウジングに軸受を介して回転自在に支持したシャフトに回転ディスクと取り付けるとともに、軸受と回転ディスク間のシャフト上にフリンガを介在させて軸受部を構成していた。
前記フリンガは、軸受を支持するハウジングとともに凹凸を設けてラビリンスを形成し、軸受内部のグリースなどの潤滑剤が漏れて回転ディスクに付着するのを防止していた。
また、軸受の外輪の反回転ディスク側を押さえる軸受押さえを、前記ハウジングに装着していた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、このような従来のロータリエンコーダにおいては、次のような問題があった。
(1)フリンガを取り付けることによって、ロータリエンコーダの全長が軸方向に伸び大形化する。
(2)フリンガや軸受押さえを別部品として取り付けるので、部品点数が増え、組立作業も面倒になる。
本発明は、このような問題を解消するためになされたもので、簡単な構成で、軸方向の寸法を長くすることなく、かつ部品点数が少なくて組立の容易な軸受密封構造を有するロータリエンコーダを提供することを目的とするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記問題を解決するため、本発明は、ハウジングに軸受を介して回転自在に支持されたシャフトと、前記シャフトに取り付けられた回転ディスクとを有するロータリエンコーダにおいて、前記ハウジングの軸受の外輪を受ける部分の一部分を削ってラビリンス凹部を形成し、前記シャフトに、前記軸受の外輪を超えるつば部を形成するとともに、前記つば部に、前記ラビリンス凹部に対応し、前記軸受の外輪と空隙を介して対向するラビリンス凸部を設けるようにしたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施例を図に基づいて説明する。
図1は本発明の実施例を示す側断面図である。
図において、1はシャフトで、軸受2を介して回転自在にハウジング3に支持されている。4は前記シャフトに取り付けられた回転ディスクである。
前記シャフト1には、前記軸受2の外輪2aを超えるつば部1aを形成するとともに、前記つば部1aに、前記軸受外輪2aの外側の一部分を覆うようなラビリンス凸部1bを設けている。また、前記ハウジング3には、シャフト1のラビリンス凸部1bと対応するように、軸受2の外輪2aを受ける部分の一部分を削ってラビリンス凹部3aを形成している。ハウジング3を削る寸法は、軸受2の軸方向長さの1/3以下が望ましい。この場合、軸受2の外輪2aは少なくとも軸方向長さの2/3の部分でハウジング3と接着されるので、接着強度は問題ない。また、前記ハウジング3には、軸受2の外輪2aの反回転ディスク側を押さえる軸受押さえ部3bを設けている。なお、2bは軸受2の内輪である。
このような構成において、シャフト1が回転して、軸受内部の潤滑剤などが漏れ出した場合、シャフト1のラビリンス凸部1bと、ハウジング3のラビリンス凹部3aにより、潤滑剤などが回転ディスク4へ付着することが防止される。
また、シャフト1とハウジング3とで、簡単にラビリンス凸部1b、ラビリンス凹部3a、および軸受押さえ部3bを形成することができるので、フリンガや軸受押さえなどの別部材をまったく用いる必要がない。

以上述べたように、本発明によれば、軸方向の全長を変えることなく、かつ部品点数を増やすことなく、しかも軸受の外輪を利用することで精度の良いラビリンス構造が得られ、軸受の潤滑剤などの漏れを防止する密封構造を実現できるという効果がある。

The dimension for cutting the housing 3 is desirably 1/3 or less of the axial length of the bearing 2. In this case, since the outer ring 2a of the bearing 2 is bonded to the housing 3 at least at 2/3 of the axial length, there is no problem with the bonding strength.
