BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a seal lip turning determination method when inserting a seal such as an oil seal or a G seal having a lip into a shaft, and a seal insertion device having a function for performing the determination method.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The seal with a lip is for preventing the leakage of oil and the entry of foreign matter such as dust by forming a seal portion by the tip portion of a lip made of an elastic member such as rubber being in close contact with the shaft. When assembling such a seal with a lip on the shaft, the lip must be oriented in the direction of insertion into the shaft of the seal.
[0003]
However, the lip may turn over due to friction with the shaft during insertion, and may turn in the direction opposite to the insertion direction. If the lip is turned over in this way, a gap is created between the seal and the shaft. , Oil leaks and dust intrusion occur.
[0004]
Therefore, for example, in registered utility model No. 3007446 (utility application No. 6-10536), etc., it is proposed to provide a notch on the outer peripheral edge of the seal and easily detect whether or not the lip is turned up by an air leak test. ing.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, of course, in order to perform an air leak test, an air supply device, a pipe for passing air from the air supply device to a chuck (hand) having a work (seal), an expensive sensor for detecting leaks, etc. are required. Become. Furthermore, a hand dedicated to leak detection is also required. Providing such a large facility only for detecting the lip turning is not only economically disadvantageous, but also causes a problem that it takes time to inspect the air leak and the production efficiency is lowered.
[0006]
In addition, the conventional seal insertion device uses a spring to detect jamming of a hand with a workpiece, so if a load is applied, the hand or part of the hand will escape in proportion to the load, so positioning will not be successful. There is a problem.
[0007]
An object of the present invention is to implement a seal lip turn-up determination method capable of determining whether or not a seal lip is turned up when inserting the seal into a shaft, and a method for executing the method. To provide a seal insertion device having a function.
