本発明は、乗用車等のドア周りに装着されるウェザストリップに関し、特に、バックドア及びトランクリッド用のウェザストリップの構造に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
ハッチバック車あるいはステーションワゴンに採用されているバックドアあるいは一般の乗用車におけるトランクリッドは、略同等の防塵、防水機能を有し、構成も略同じであり、以下、図4に示した上ヒンジ下開き(矢印Fの方向)タイプ又は横ヒンジ横開き(矢印Sの方向)タイプのバックドアBDを対象にして説明する。
