【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は船外機の燃料供給装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
船外機には燃料タンクを船体側に配置したものがあり、船外機側に設けられた燃料供給装置で燃料をエンジンに導いている。燃料供給装置を構成するフィルタやポンプ等の燃料系部品は、例えば特開平7−317617号公報に示すようにエンジンの周囲に配置され、ホースやパイプ等の燃料配管で連結されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、従来の燃料系部品は、エンジンの周囲の空いたスペースを利用して配置されていたため、燃料配管が複雑かつ長くなっていた。そのため、組付性や整備性が悪く、コストも掛かっていた。

本発明は上述した事情を考慮してなされたもので、組付性および整備性の向上を図った船外機の燃料供給装置を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明に係る船外機の燃料供給装置は、上述した課題を解決するために、請求項1に記載したように、内部に燃焼室およびこの燃焼室に吸・排気バルブを介して繋がる吸気ポートと排気ポートとが形成されたシリンダヘッドと、一端が吸気ポートに接続され、上下方向に配列された複数の吸気管を備えた吸気マニフォールドを側部に配置したシリンダブロックと、内部に縦置きに設けられたクランクシャフトとを備えたエンジンを有し、船体側に設けられた燃料タンクからの燃料が導かれるベーパーセパレータと、燃料を上記吸気ポート内に噴射するインジェクタと、ベーパーセパレータ内の燃料を上記インジェクタに圧送する燃料ポンプとを主に燃料供給装置を構成した船外機において、上記燃料タンクからの燃料を上記エンジンに導く燃料フィルタや上記燃料ポンプ、上記ベーパーセパレータ、デリバリーパイプおよび上記インジェクタ等の燃料系部品を上記シリンダブロックの上記吸気マニフォールドが配置される一側面に集約して配置すると共に、上記上下方向に配列された複数の吸気管に上記ベーパーセパレータをボルトで固定する一方、上記ボルトの頭部を上記各吸気管の間に配置したものである。

また、上述した課題を解決するために、請求項2に記載したように、上記インジェクタに燃料を圧送する上記燃料ポンプを上記ベーパーセパレータ内に内装したものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施形態を図面に基づいて説明する。

図1は、本発明を適用した船外機の左側面図である。この船外機1はエンジンホルダ2を備え、このエンジンホルダ2に取り付けられたブラケット4を介して船体4のトランサム4aに装着される。

このエンジンホルダ2の上部にはエンジン5が設置され、その周囲はエンジンカバー6により覆われる。エンジンカバー6はアッパーカバー6aとロアーカバー6bとに上下に分割可能なものであり、ロアーカバー6bはさらにフロントパネル6cと左右のサイドカバー6dとに三分割可能に構成される。そして、エンジンホルダ2およびエンジン5下部の周囲はロアーカバー6bに、また、エンジン5の上部はアッパーカバー6aにより覆われる。

エンジン5内にはクランクシャフト7がほぼ鉛直方向を向くよう縦置きに設けられる。また、エンジンホルダ2の下部にはオイルパン8を隔ててドライブシャフトハウジング9が設置される。オイルパン8内およびドライブシャフトハウジング9内にはクランクシャフト7下端に連結されたドライブシャフト10が下方に向かって延設され、ドライブシャフトハウジング9の下部に設けられたギヤケース11内のベベルギヤ12およびプロペラシャフト13を介してプロペラ14を駆動するように構成される。

図2は、図1のエンジン5部分を拡大した左側面図であり、図3は、図2のIII−III線に沿う断面図、また、図4は図2のIV矢視図である。図2〜図4に示すように、このエンジン5は、例えば水冷サイクル4気筒エンジンであり、シリンダヘッド15、シリンダブロック16およびクランクケース17等を組み合わせて構成される。

エンジン5のシリンダブロック16内にはシリンダ18が形成される。また、シリンダヘッド15にはこのシリンダ18に整合する燃焼室19が形成され、その外方から点火プラグ20が結合される。シリンダ18内にはピストン21が水平方向に摺動自在に挿入され、ピストン21とクランクシャフト7とがコンロッド22によって連結される。そして、ピストン21の往復ストロークがクランクシャフト7の回転運動に変換されるようになっている。

シリンダヘッド15内には燃焼室19に繋がる吸気ポート23と排気ポート24とが形成される。そして、シリンダヘッド15には吸気ポート23内に燃料を噴射する燃料系部品であるインジェクタ25(後述)が外方から取り付けられる。また、シリンダヘッド15内には両ポート23,24を開閉する吸気バルブ26および排気バルブ27が配置され、さらにこれらのバルブ26,27を開閉させるカムシャフト28やロッカアーム29等の動弁装置30も配置される。そして、シリンダヘッド15はシリンダヘッドカバー31によって覆われる。

エンジン5の周囲には電装品32や吸気装置33、燃料供給装置34が配置される。吸気装置33は主にスロットルボディ35と、サージタンク36およびこのサージタンク36から各気筒毎に延びる複数の吸気管37…を備えた吸気マニフォールド38とから構成され、エンジン5の一側に集約して配置される。また、電装品32は吸気装置33の反対側に集約して配置される。

スロットルボディ35は、例えばエンジン5のクランクケース17前方に配置され、このスロットルボディ35の側部にサージタンク36が並設される。また、各吸気管37…がシリンダブロック16の側部に上下方向に配列され、シリンダヘッド15の各吸気ポート23とサージタンク36の内部とを連通する。

図5は、燃料供給装置34のブロック図であり、図6は図2より吸気装置33および燃料供給装置34のみを取り出して示す側面図である。さらに、図7は図6のVII矢視図であって、図8は図6のVIII−VIII線に沿う断面図である。

図5〜図8に示すように、燃料供給装置34はフィルタやポンプ等の燃料系部品を有し、具体的にはコネクタ39および複数の燃料フィルタ40,41や燃料ポンプ42,43、ベーパーセパレータ44、プレッシャレギュレータ45、デリバリーパイプ46、インジェクタ25等から構成され、各部品は燃料ホース47,48で連結される。

本実施形態に示す船外機1は燃料タンク49を船体4側に備えており、燃料タンク49から延びる燃料供給ホース(図示せず)がロアーカバー6bのフロントパネル6cに設けられたコネクタ39に接続される。前記サージタンク36の下面には低圧フィルタ40がブラケット50を介して固定され、この低圧フィルタ40とコネクタ39とが低圧燃料ホース47aで接続される。

前記シリンダヘッドカバー31にはカムシャフト28により駆動されるメカニカル(低圧)ポンプ42が配置され、このメカニカルポンプ42と低圧フィルタ40とが低圧燃料ホース47bで接続される。

シリンダブロック16と吸気マニフォールド38の各吸気管37…との間にはスペースが形成され、このスペースにベーパーセパレータ44の機能を有するセパレータケース51が配置される。そして、このセパレータケース51は各吸気管37…の内側にボルト52等で固定される。さらに、図2、図6および図8に明らかなように、ボトル52はそれらの頭部が各吸気管37…の間に配置されるよう、配置が設定される。さらにまた、ベーパーセパレータ44は液体燃料、例えばガソリン内に含まれるガソリン蒸気を分離してこの蒸気のみを大気に解放するものであって、メカニカルポンプ42から低圧燃料ホース47cを介して燃料が導かれる。

セパレータケース51内には(高圧)燃料ポンプ43およびプレッシャレギュレータ45も内装され、蒸気が分離された燃料を所定の圧力で高圧燃料ホース48aを介して吸気管37…下部にブラケット53を介して固定された高圧フィルタ41に圧送する。

高圧フィルタ41に圧送された高圧の燃料は吸気管37…に取り付けられたデリバリーパイプ46に高圧燃料ホース48bを介して送られる。そして、このデリバリーパイプ46に前記インジェクタ25が各気筒毎に取り付けられ、これらのインジェクタ25が吸気ポート23内に高圧の燃料を噴射する。

次に、本実施形態の作用について説明する。

コネクタ39からインジェクタ25に至る全燃料系部品25,39〜48をエンジン5の吸気マニフォールド38側一側面に集約して配置することにより、各燃料系部品25,39〜48を繋ぐ燃料配管が単純かつ短くなってコストの削減と組付性や整備性の向上を図ることができる。

また、燃料系部品25,39〜48の一部を吸気マニフォールド38に取り付けることにより吸気装置33と燃料供給装置34とを一体化でき、燃料ホース47,48の短縮化、配管の単純化が可能になると共に、組立て現場での組付性や、その後の整備性が向上する。特に、燃料系部品25,39〜48のうち最も大型のベーパーセパレータ44を吸気管37…の内側に設けることによりエンジン5のコンパクト化が図れる。

【発明の効果】
以上説明したように、本発明に係る船外機の燃料供給装置によれば、エンジンの一側に吸気マニフォールド配置した船外機において、燃料タンクからの燃料を上記エンジンに導く燃料系部品を上記エンジンの上記吸気マニフォールド側一側面に集約して配置したため、上記燃料系部品の整備性が向上する。

また、上記燃料系部品の一部を上記吸気マニフォールドに取り付けたため、上記燃料系部品の組付性が向上する。

さらに、上記燃料系部品の一部を構成するベーパーセパレータを上記吸気マニフォールドを構成する吸気管の内側に設けたため、エンジンのコンパクト化が図れる。
