Description
【0001】

[Industrial application fields]
The present invention relates to a studless tire, and more specifically to a studless tire for heavy loads having excellent skid resistance as well as braking and driving straight running stability during ice-burning.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A studless tire has a block basic pattern in which a large number of blocks are formed on a tread surface, and is configured to exhibit braking and driving performance on icy and snowy roads by an edge effect of the blocks. However, conventional studless tires are designed with an emphasis on braking performance and drivability especially when going straight ahead, and as a result, they are particularly resistant to running on very slippery ice surfaces such as ice burn (mirror burn). There was a problem that the skid was not sufficient. In particular, the tendency is remarkable in studless tires for heavy loads such as trucks and buses.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
An object of the present invention is to provide a studless tire that improves the skid resistance while maintaining the straight running stability on ice at a conventional level, and achieves both the straight running stability and the skid resistance.
[0004]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In the studless tire of the present invention that achieves the above object, 11 to 13 longitudinal grooves having a groove width of 2 mm or more extending in the tire circumferential direction are arranged on the tread surface, and lateral grooves having a groove width of 2 mm or more extending in the tire width direction are arranged on the tire circumference. A large number are arranged along the direction, and a length Li of the land portion divided into the vertical groove and the horizontal groove along the vertical groove is projected in the tire circumferential direction, and the side along the horizontal groove is projected in the radial direction. The ratio R = ΣLi / ΣWi of the sum ΣLi and ΣWi obtained by adding the length Wi to the entire land portion is set to 1.3 to 2.3.
[0005]
For the entire land portion thus provided on the tread, the projected length component in the tire circumferential direction of the side along the vertical groove of the land portion is made larger than the projected length component in the radial direction of the side along the horizontal groove. (R ≧ 1.3) can improve skid resistance, and by giving the ratio R 2.3 or less (R ≦ 2.3), the land portion (block) is given appropriate rigidity. As a result, sufficient braking and drivability can be generated during straight traveling.
[0006]
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described with reference to embodiments shown in the drawings.
FIG. 1 illustrates a tread pattern provided on the studless tire of the present invention.
The
[0007]
In the present invention, the vertical groove and the horizontal groove both have a groove width of 2 mm or more, and 11 to 13

Further, the block 4 (land portion) formed by dividing into the
[0009]
Since the component projected in the tire circumferential direction on each side of the block is made larger than the component projected in the radial direction (R ≧ 1.3), high skid resistance can be exhibited. In addition, while the projection component in the tire circumferential direction is increased in this way, the ratio R = ΣLi / ΣWi of the tire circumferential projection component to the radial projection component is restricted to 2.3 or less (R ≦ 2.3). Accordingly, an appropriate block rigidity can be maintained, so that the braking performance and drivability during straight running can be improved, and excellent straight running stability can be ensured.
[0010]
In the present invention, the tire circumferential direction projection component of the side along the vertical groove direction of the land portion and the radial direction projection component along the horizontal groove are the vertical side and horizontal width of the block as in the land portion (block) shown in FIG. When the sides completely coincide with the tire circumferential direction (direction parallel to the equator) and the radial direction (direction parallel to the meridian), the direct length is measured as Li and Wi.
[0011]
However, as shown in FIG. 3, when the side of the land portion (block) is inclined with respect to the tire circumferential direction or the radial direction, the complete tire circumferential direction (direction parallel to the equator), the radial direction (the meridian) The length projected with respect to the direction parallel to is measured. When measuring the projected length of the side of the land portion inclined in this way, both the tire circumferential direction and the radial direction are not measured for the same side, for example, one side is projected in the tire circumferential direction. When the length is measured, the projected length in the radial direction of the same side is not measured redundantly.
[0012]
When it is difficult to determine whether the same side is a side along a vertical groove or a side along a horizontal groove due to the inclination of the land side, when projecting in both the tire circumferential direction and the radial direction The longer projection length is preferentially adopted.
FIG. 4 shows another example of a block pattern used in the studless tire of the present invention.

In this embodiment, as the

The above-described studless tire of the present invention is not particularly limited in the type of vehicle used, but the effect described above can be made more remarkable particularly when employed in a heavy duty studless tire such as a truck or a bus.
[0015]
【Example】
The tire size is 11.00R20 14PR, the tread pattern is a rectangular block pattern as shown in FIG. 1, the number of vertical grooves, the projected length in the tire circumferential direction along the vertical groove of the block, and the side along the horizontal groove The tires H to K, N to P of the present invention and the comparative tires A to G, L, and M in which the ratio R = ΣLi / ΣWi of the values obtained by integrating the projection lengths in the radial direction for all the blocks is different as shown in Table 1 , Q to V were produced.
[0016]
About these studless tires for heavy loads, the braking performance on ice and the skid resistance on ice were measured by the following test methods, and the tire D corresponding to the conventional tire was evaluated with an index of 100. The results shown in Table 1 were obtained. It was.
(On-ice braking)
When the test tire with a pneumatic pressure of 725 kPa is mounted on all the wheels of the vehicle 2D bus (front load 21.6 KN, rear load 19.6 KN), the braking distance when locking from 40 km / h on ice is locked. It was measured.
[0017]
The evaluation was carried out with the reciprocal of the measured value, and indicated by an index with tire D as 100. The larger the index, the better the braking performance on ice.
(Slip resistance on ice)
A side slip amount was measured when braking was performed from a speed of 10 km / h on an ice road surface inclined 3 ° to the left with respect to the traveling direction using the same vehicle as that on the ice.
The evaluation was carried out with the reciprocal of the measured value, and indicated by an index with tire D as 100. The larger the index, the better the braking performance on ice.
[0018]
[Table 1]
From the evaluation results shown in Table 1, it can be seen that the tires H to K and N to P of the present invention have improved skid resistance while maintaining on-ice braking performance (straight running stability) at the level of conventional tires. Understand.
[0019]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, for the entire land portion provided in the tread, the projection length component in the tire circumferential direction of the side along the vertical groove of the land portion is the projection length in the radial direction of the side along the horizontal groove. By making it larger than the thickness component (R ≧ 1.3), the skid resistance can be improved. In addition, by setting the ratio R to 2.3 or less (R ≦ 2.3), the land portion (block) can be provided with appropriate rigidity, so that sufficient braking and drivability are generated during straight traveling. Can do.
