The present invention relates to a semiconductive endless plastic belt for an electrophotographic copying machine used as a transfer intermediate for copying a toner image on a photosensitive member in an apparatus employing an electrophotographic technology such as a full-color copying machine.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, with the practical application of electrophotographic copying machines such as full-color copying machines, when a toner image developed on a photoconductor is transferred to a copy paper, the toner image is temporarily copied to a transfer intermediate, and then copied to a copy paper. The process of transferring to is adopted.

[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, excellent reproducibility of fine lines, it is possible to prevent the scattering of the developer, semiconductive endless electrophotographic copier quality of copy image can be realized The purpose is to provide a plastic belt.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the semiconductive endless plastic belt for an electrophotographic copying machine of the present invention is provided with three layers consisting of an inner layer, an intermediate layer and an outer layer, or a developer carrying layer on the outer peripheral surface of the three layers. An endless belt having a four-layer structure, wherein the inner layer is formed using the following (a), the intermediate layer is formed using a polyamide resin, and the outer layer is formed using the following (b). And the two layers extracted in order of the thickness among the multilayers are the inner layer and the outer layer, and have a configuration in which the following requirements (X) and (Y) are satisfied.
(A) Vinylidene fluoride-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer [P (VDF-TFE)], ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (ETFE), polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), tetrafluoroethylene-hexa At least one selected from the group consisting of a fluoropropylene copolymer (FEP), a tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer (PFA), and a trifluorochloroethylene resin (CTFE).
(B) Vinylidene fluoride-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer [P (VDF-TFE)], ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (ETFE), polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), tetrafluoroethylene-hexa Fluoropropylene copolymer (FEP), tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer (PFA), trifluorochloroethylene resin (CTFE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), ABS resin, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) , At least one selected from the group consisting of polycarbonate (PC), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), acrylic rubber and polyurethane (PU).
(X) the volume resistivity of the outer layer is set to a range of 10 13 ~10 16 Ω · cm.
(Y) the volume resistivity of the inner layer is smaller than the volume resistivity of the outer layer.
[0008]
That is, an electrophotographic copying machine semiconductive endless plastic belt of the present invention, the inner layer, three-layer consisting of the intermediate and outer layers, to no endless four-layer structure in which a developer carrying layer on the outer peripheral surface of the three-layer Two layers extracted in descending order of thickness, which are belts and greatly affect the electrical characteristics of the entire belt, are the inner layer and the outer layer, and these layers are formed of a specific material, It meets certain requirements. For this reason, it is possible to maintain a highly charged state due to the high resistance of the outer layer , and it is possible to form a toner image without partial omission on the belt surface. Therefore, when characters or the like are copied, a thin copy line is not cut off, and a copy image in which the developer is scattered where there is no image is not obtained. Furthermore, since the inner layer of the volume resistivity is set to be smaller than the volume resistivity of the outer layer can escape charges remaining outer layer smoothly. As a result, continuous copying can be performed in a short time without impairing the image quality of the copied image. As described above, the charged state of the endless belt can be easily optimized by giving the outer layer and the inner layer roles. As a result, it is possible to realize a high-quality copy image as a whole.
[0009]
In particular, it has been found that setting the volume resistivity of the outer layer in a specific range is particularly preferable from the viewpoint of the image quality of a copied image.
[0010]
In addition to that to satisfy a specific relationship to the volume resistivity, to set the Young's modulus of the outer layer to a specific range, so that the Young's modulus of the inner layer is larger than the Young's modulus of the outer layer settings It has been found that it is particularly preferable from the viewpoint of durability.
[0011]
In the present invention, “extract two layers in descending order of thickness” means that two layers are literally extracted in descending order of thickness, but the extracted two layers have the same thickness. There may be .

The Young's modulus is obtained as follows. That is, first, a test piece obtained by curing the layer forming material is prepared, and its cross-sectional area (Z) is measured. Next, a load is applied to the test piece under the condition of a tensile speed of 5 mm / min, and the place where the strain ε = 0.002 is taken as the maximum load (F) at the yield, and this is measured. Thus, after measuring the maximum load (F) at the time of yielding, tensile strength ((sigma)) is calculated by following Numerical formula (1). Then, the Young's modulus (Em) is calculated by the following formula (2), where the tensile strength (σ) is the stress difference between the two points and the strain (ε) is the difference in strain between the two points. .

Next, examples will be described together with comparative examples.
[0034]
Examples 1-7, Comparative Examples 1-5
First, the materials shown in Table 1 and Table 2 below were blended in the proportions shown in the same table and dispersed by a sand mill to prepare an inner layer forming coating solution and an outer layer forming coating solution. In Comparative Example 2, a cylindrical molded body was produced by extrusion molding without preparing an outer layer forming coating solution.

[Table 2]
[0037]
Further, 100 parts by weight of N-methoxymethylated nylon (Torresin EF-30T manufactured by Teikoku Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.) and c-SnO 2 (average particle size 0.02 μm: conductive tin oxide T-1 manufactured by Mitsubishi Materials Corporation) A coating solution for forming an intermediate layer was prepared by preparing 64 parts by weight and 480 parts by weight of a methanol / water mixed solvent (methanol / water = 3/1) and dispersing them with a sand mill.
[0038]
Next, using each of the coating liquids, a resin liquid film serving as an inner layer, an intermediate layer, and an outer layer was sequentially formed around the shaft body according to the method described above. And after drying this resin liquid film and removing a solvent, each layer was formed by performing heat processing (105 degreeC x 60 minutes). And the said shaft body was extracted and the endless belt which consists of three layers was produced. For Comparative Example 2, the intermediate layer forming coating liquid and the inner layer forming coating liquid were applied in this order to the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical molded body, and then dried to remove the solvent, followed by heat treatment. By performing (105 ° C. × 60 minutes), an endless belt composed of three layers was produced.
[0039]
The endless belt thus obtained was measured and evaluated for the thickness of each layer, the volume resistivity of the inner layer and the outer layer, and the image quality of the copied image. The results are shown in Tables 3 and 4 below. In addition, each measuring method is as follows.
[0040]
[Volume resistivity]
The volume resistivity at an applied voltage of 100 V was calculated according to the resistivity test method of JIS K 6911.
[0041]
The obtained endless belt is installed in a full-color copying machine, which is started under normal temperature and humidity conditions (23 ° C x 50%), and 20,000 characters or solid black images are copied. evaluated. When characters were copied, there was no problem in the copied image, and the thin line was clearly displayed as ◯, the thin line was broken, or the developer flew out where there was no image as x. In addition, when a solid black image was copied, the copy image had no problem and no white spots were displayed as ◯, and white spots were displayed as x.
[0042]
[Table 3]
[0043]
[Table 4]
[0044]
From the above results, in Examples 1 to 7, the volume resistivity of the two layers (inner layer and outer layer) extracted in descending order satisfies the specific relationship. It is clearly copied. Further, when a solid black image is copied, white spots do not occur and a good copy image is obtained. Therefore, each of the examples achieves high image quality of the copied image. On the other hand, in Comparative Examples 1 to 5, the volume resistivity of the two layers (inner layer and outer layer) extracted in descending order does not satisfy a specific relationship, so that a good copy image is obtained. Not.
[0045]
Examples 8 to 10
Next, the materials shown in Table 5 below were blended in the proportions shown in the table, and dispersed by a sand mill to prepare an outer layer forming coating solution and an inner layer forming coating solution. Then, an endless belt composed of three layers was produced in the same manner as in Example 1 by using both coating liquids and the intermediate layer forming coating liquid.
[0046]
[Table 5]
[0047]
For the endless belt thus obtained, the thickness of each layer, the volume resistivity of the inner layer and the outer layer are measured in the same manner as described above, and the Young's modulus of the inner layer and the outer layer is measured by the above-described measuring method. The image quality and durability were evaluated, and the results are shown in Table 6 below. The image quality of the copied image was evaluated in the same manner as described above, and the durability was evaluated as follows.
[0048]
〔durability〕
Evaluation was performed by driving an endless belt corresponding to 20,000 full-color copiers under a load of 300 gf / cm per unit width. The endless belt was indicated as “O” when no crack was generated, and “X” when the endless belt was cracked.
[0049]
[Table 6]
[0050]
In Examples 8 to 10, the volume resistivity of the two layers (inner layer and outer layer) extracted in descending order satisfies a specific relationship. Therefore, when characters are copied, fine lines are clearly copied. Has been. Further, when a solid black image is copied, white spots do not occur and a good copy image is obtained. Moreover, since the Young's modulus of the two layers satisfies a specific relationship, these example products are also excellent in durability.
[0051]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, the belt of the present invention, the inner layer, three-layer consisting of the intermediate and outer layers, to no a endless belt of four-layer structure in which a developer carrying layer on the outer peripheral surface of the three-layer, each layer Two layers formed using a specific material and extracted in order of increasing thickness among the multilayers are the inner layer and the outer layer, and satisfy a specific relationship with respect to volume resistivity. Therefore, due to the high resistance of the outer layer is as high charged state can be maintained, and by the inner layer of the volume resistivity is set to be smaller than the volume resistivity of the outer layer, smooth charges remaining outer layer I can escape. Therefore, when an image having fine lines such as characters is copied by being incorporated in a full-color copying machine or the like, the copied image does not have a fine line cut off or a developer is scattered where there is no image. Therefore, there is an advantage that a high-quality copy image can be realized.
[0052]
In particular, when the volume resistivity of the inner layer is set within a specific range, the charged state of the entire endless belt can be made more appropriate. There is an advantage that a high-quality copy image can be obtained.
[0053]
In addition, when the two layers (inner layer and outer layer) extracted in order of increasing thickness satisfy a specific relationship with respect to Young's modulus, the durability is excellent, and it is very useful as a transfer intermediate for a full-color copying machine. There is an advantage that it is preferable.
