Description
【0001】
E=E0−RT・ln(PSO3)/2F

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a sulfide oxidation catalyst used for measuring a sulfide concentration in a gas and a sulfide concentration measuring apparatus using the catalyst.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Fossil fuels such as petroleum, coal, and natural gas contain sulfides such as sulfur, hydrogen sulfide, and mercaptan although they are in trace amounts, and the harmfulness of these sulfides is well known. In addition, in the combustion gas of fossil fuel such as flue gas and exhaust gas, sulfur sulfide gas (SO 2 ) And its oxide, sulfuric anhydride (SO 3 Sulfur oxide (SO) x )It is included. And SO in these combustion gas x In recent years, there have been active discussions on the regulation of emission levels.
[0003]
Here, in order to prevent pollution caused by sulfide, a technique for measuring the concentration of sulfide in the fossil fuel or the combustion gas is important. However, the technique for measuring the sulfide concentration in the gas is not necessarily established, and there are few that can be easily performed and can obtain an accurate value. For example, conventional SO in gas x There are various methods for measuring the concentration. 2 And SO 3 Are separated and quantified, and each concentration is measured using a gas detector tube, and by infrared absorption analysis. 2 -SO 3 SO in gas is difficult to separate and quantitate x It is difficult to measure the total amount of SO. 2 There is a problem that only measurement is possible.
[0004]
In addition, many conventional gas sulfide concentration measuring devices are large in size and complicated in structure, but in order to appropriately investigate the impact of sulfides on the environment, such as chimneys and automobile exhaust systems Development of a device that can be directly attached to the discharge source and can measure the concentration of sulfide in real time is desired.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present invention has been made under such a background, and is applied to a series of techniques for easily and accurately performing sulfide concentration in a gas, a catalyst body used therefor, and the technique, and is small and An object of the present invention is to provide a sulfide concentration measuring device having excellent response characteristics.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
Among the above-mentioned problems, the inventors of the present invention, as a technique for accurately and simply measuring the sulfide concentration in the gas, first mixed oxygen into the gas to be measured, and converted the sulfide in the gas into SO. 2 And SO 3 And the partial pressure ratio of both is approximated to a theoretical equilibrium value corresponding to the partial pressure of oxygen to be injected. 2 Or SO 3 It was conceived to measure the concentration of either one of the above. According to this method, SO in an equilibrium state after oxidation is obtained. 2 Or SO 3 By measuring either one, the total SO can be calculated from the equilibrium value. x The concentration can be accurately measured, and the sulfide concentration in the measurement gas can be calculated.
[0007]
However, even if oxygen is simply mixed in the measurement gas, it is difficult to reliably oxidize sulfides in the gas and further bring them into equilibrium. Therefore, the present inventors have reached the consideration that the presence of a catalyst is indispensable in order to cause the oxidation of sulfide and the equilibrium state to occur quickly and reliably. At the same time, we faced the problem of catalyst poisoning. That is, in the sulfide oxidation catalyst, SO generated by oxidation of sulfide is generated. 2 Was easily adsorbed on the active site on the catalyst, and repeated adsorption and desorption at the active site. As a result, the active site was apparently blocked and the oxidation function of the active site was lost. It is. And such SO 2 The number of active sites (ratio to the total active sites) affected by the adsorption / desorption equilibrium of SO 2 -SO 3 Although it is determined by the equilibrium value, when the number increases and all active sites are blocked, the function of the entire catalyst body is deteriorated.
[0008]
From such a process, the present inventors need to develop a sulfide oxidation catalyst body that is excellent in oxidation activity but does not cause catalyst poisoning in order to quickly measure the sulfide concentration by the above method. It came to the view that there was. As a result of further research, the inventions according to
[0009]
The invention according to
[0010]
The sulfide oxidation catalyst body of the present invention is a so-called supported catalyst body in which a metal honeycomb is used as a carrier and noble metal oxide fine particles having catalytic action are dispersed on the carrier. The reason why this supported catalyst is not affected by the poisoning of the catalyst is considered to be that the surface area of the active substance is remarkably increased by dispersing and adhering the noble metal oxide acting as a catalyst as fine particles on the support. . That is, as described above, SO 2 The number of active sites at which adsorption / desorption equilibrium occurs is determined by the measurement gas SO after oxidation. 2 -SO 3 Since it is constant according to the equilibrium value, by increasing the surface area of the active substance (number of active sites) significantly as in the present invention, SO at some active sites. 2 All of the active sites are SO 2 This is based on the idea that the oxidation activity of the entire catalyst body can be maintained.
[0011]
In the sulfide oxidation catalyst body according to
[0012]
On the other hand, the sulfide oxidation catalyst body according to
[0013]
As described above, the two sulfide oxidation catalyst bodies of the present invention are common in that the catalyst poisoning resistance is improved by dispersing and supporting the noble metal oxide fine particles on the metal honeycomb carrier. The response characteristics vary depending on the presence or absence of. These catalyst bodies may be appropriately used depending on the characteristics of the measurement gas and the purpose of use. For example, when the sulfide concentration in the measurement gas fluctuates violently, it can be dealt with by using the catalyst body according to
[0014]
Further, in the present invention, the catalyst component to be supported is a noble metal oxide fine particle. This is because the noble metal has higher catalytic activity than the base metal, and the noble metal pure metal is easily adsorbed with sulfur. It is based on the idea that it is appropriate to apply a noble metal oxide in consideration of both catalytic activity and anti-sulfurization characteristics because it is easy to form a stable sulfide. Here, in
[0015]
As the noble metal oxide to be supported, palladium oxide (PdO), rhodium oxide (Rh) as described in
[0016]
According to the sulfide oxidation catalyst body according to
[0017]
Here, "SO" 2 Or SO 3 Examples of devices that can be applied as "measuring means capable of detecting" is a sulfide concentration measuring means such as a gas detector tube and an infrared absorption analyzer, which have already been described as the prior art. That is, since the catalyst body according to the present invention functions effectively even with respect to the conventional measuring means, it is possible to install SO at the gas introduction part of these devices. 2 Or SO 3 And measure the value down SO 2 And SO 3 And the concentration of sulfide contained in the measurement gas can be estimated.
[0018]
However, particularly preferable as this measuring means, the measuring means according to
[0019]
This sensor element is SO 3 In the measurement gas in an equilibrium state. 3 A reaction in which the metal in the metal electrode is changed to the same substance as the sulfate in the sub-electrode by the reaction between the metal electrode and the SO, 3 And the reaction that occurs between the sulfate in the sub-electrode and the reaction between the standard electrode and the metal electrode when the reaction between them is in an equilibrium state. 3 The concentration is to be measured.
[0020]
And as for the material of the metal electrode and the sub electrode in the sensor element of the present invention, as described in
[0021]
The following reaction occurs in the silver phase in the metal electrode.
[Chemical 1]
On the other hand, in the silver sulfate phase in the sub-electrode, the SO 2 / SO 3 SO out of gas 3 Reacts to produce the following reaction.
[Chemical formula 2]
Further, the following reaction occurs at the standard electrode.
[Chemical 3]
And the following reaction arises as the whole sensor element.
[Formula 4]
[0022]
As a result of the above reaction, a potential difference is generated between the metal electrode and the standard electrode. By measuring the electromotive force based on this potential difference, SO 3 Can be obtained. More specifically, the so-called Nernst equation 3 The partial pressure can be determined.
[Expression 1]
E = E 0 -RT · ln (P SO3 ) / 2F
(Where E is the potential difference between the metal electrode and the platinum electrode, 0 Is the standard electromotive force, T is the temperature (absolute temperature) P SO3 Is SO 3 Indicates partial pressure. R is a gas constant, and F is a Faraday constant. )
[0023]
The sulfide concentration in the measurement gas is a thermodynamically calculated SO corresponding to the oxygen partial pressure mixed in the measurement gas. 2 -SO 3 It can be determined from the equilibrium constant.
[0024]
This sensor element is formed by laminating a plurality of thin films on a ceramic substrate, and can operate even when the thickness of each layer is about several millimeters. Thereby, compared with the case where detection means, such as an above-mentioned infrared absorption analyzer, is applied, an apparatus size can be reduced in each stage. In addition, this sensor element is capable of continuous measurement, and unlike other detection means, even when the sulfide concentration in the measurement gas fluctuates, it immediately measures the potential difference based on the instantaneous reaction equilibrium. Therefore, real-time measurement is possible.
[0025]
Here, the substrate made of oxide ion conductive ceramic is preferably yttria stable zirconia (YSZ) as described in claim 7. In the sensor according to the present invention, it is necessary to set the operating temperature to about 600 ° C. in consideration of ionic conductivity. However, the use of YSZ can ensure the heat resistance of the apparatus at a high temperature. .
[0026]
In addition, about the sulfate which comprises a subelectrode, it is not necessary to comprise all of a subelectrode with silver sulfate, and it comprises with a mixture of other sulfates, for example, lithium sulfate, sodium sulfate, barium sulfate, etc., and silver sulfate You may do it. In particular, since barium sulfate has a higher melting point than silver sulfate, when the secondary electrode is a mixture of barium sulfate and silver sulfate, the silver sulfate is used when used at a high temperature. There is an advantage that it is possible to prevent the flow of.

11 and 12 show a response curve and a return curve of the sulfide concentration measuring device according to the present embodiment. In this experiment, the test gas SO 2 This is done by reading the change in electromotive force when the concentration is changed from 0 ppm to 100 ppm and from 100 ppm to 5 ppm.
[0042]
First, with respect to the response curve of FIG. 11, it can be seen that the response time (90% response time) at the time of test gas switching is within 90 seconds, indicating a good response characteristic. Also for the return curve of FIG. 12, the sensor according to the present embodiment has SO 2 Since the sensor and the sulfide concentration measuring device according to the present embodiment are capable of continuous measurement even with respect to changes in the measurement gas, since they exhibit a good response to switching of gases having different concentrations. Was confirmed.
[0043]
In addition to sulfides in the measurement gas, other gas types (NO 2 , O 2 ) Was examined for the sensor electromotive force. FIG. 13 shows NO 2 Each NO when applying a test gas containing 10 to 50 ppm 2 SO in contained gas 2 Indicates the relationship between concentration and electromotive force. As is clear from this figure, NO 2 It can be said that the influence on the sensor according to the present embodiment is extremely small.
[0044]
As shown in FIG. 14, when the oxygen concentration in the gas changes, the influence of the oxygen concentration in the measurement gas on the electromotive force of the sensor is as follows.
The linear relationship between the two is almost maintained, but the intercept with respect to the vertical axis, ie, E in 0 It has been found that it mainly affects the value of. Therefore, in actual use, it is necessary to perform correction according to the oxygen concentration in the gas to be measured.
[0045]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the sulfide concentration in the gas can be easily and accurately performed. This is achieved by the sulfide oxidation catalyst body according to
[0046]
Moreover, the sulfide concentration measuring apparatus according to the present invention using this catalyst body is small in size and excellent in response characteristics, and is capable of continuous measurement. Therefore, according to the present invention, it is possible to monitor the concentration of sulfide in the gas in real time by directly attaching it to the emission source of sulfide-containing gas such as a flue and an automobile exhaust system.
