本発明は、無線信号を送受信するための励振素子と、励振素子から所定の間隔だけ離れて設けられた複数の非励振素子と、複数の非励振素子にそれぞれ接続された複数の可変リアクタンス素子とを備え、各可変リアクタンス素子のアクタンス値を変化させることによりアレーアンテナの指向特性を変化させる電子制御導波器アレーアンテナ装置(Electronically Steerable Passive Array Radiator (ESPAR) Antenna;以下、エスパアンテナという。)などのアレーアンテナ装置のための制御装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来技術のエスパアンテナ(以下、第1の従来例という。)の基本構成は、例えば、従来技術文献1「T. Ohira et al., "Electronically steerable passive array radiator antennas for low-cost analog adaptive beamforming," 2000 IEEE International Conference on Phased Array System & Technology pp. 101-104, Dana point, California, May 21-25, 2000」や特願平11−194487号の特許出願において提案されている。このエスパアンテナは、無線信号が送受信される励振素子と、この励振素子から所定の間隔だけ離れて設けられ、無線信号が送受信されない少なくとも1個の非励振素子と、この非励振素子に接続された可変リアクタンス素子とから成るアレーアンテナを備え、上記可変リアクタンス素子のリアクタンス値を変化させることにより、上記アレーアンテナの指向特性を変化させることができる。

また、従来技術である複数のアンテナ素子を備えた適応型アレーアンテナ(以下、第2の従来例という。)において、適応的なビーム形成によって実現される空間領域信号処理と、等化器による時間領域信号処理を組み合わせた時空間信号処理(以下、時空間信号処理という。)が、高速無線通信で問題となるマルチパスフェージングに対する対策として有効であることが知られている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
第1の従来例のエスパアンテナは、第2の従来例の適応型アレーアンテナに比較して、単一の励振素子のみから構成されているので、経済性の面から非常に有利である。一方、第2の従来例においては、複数のアンテナ素子毎に時空間信号処理を行うハードウェア回路を設けなければならず、その回路構成は複雑であり、高価であるという問題点があった。

本発明の目的は以上の問題点を解決し、第2の従来例に比較して回路構成が簡単であって、エスパアンテナで受信された受信信号に対して時空間信号処理を行うことができるアレーアンテナの制御装置を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明に係るアレーアンテナの制御装置は、無線信号を送受信するための励振素子と、上記励振素子から所定の間隔だけ離れて設けられた複数の非励振素子と、上記複数の非励振素子にそれぞれ接続された複数の可変リアクタンス素子とを備え、上記各可変リアクタンス素子のリアクタンス値を変化させることによりアレーアンテナの指向特性を変化させるアレーアンテナの制御装置において、
上記励振素子によって受信された受信信号に基づいて、主ビームの方向が実質的に所望波の方向に向くように上記受信信号に対して時間領域の信号処理を実行して処理信号を出力する第1の処理手段と、
上記第1の処理手段から出力される処理信号に基づいて、所定の評価基準を用いて評価値を演算して、評価値を示す評価値信号を出力する演算手段と、
上記演算手段から出力される評価値信号に基づいて、実質的に所望値の評価値信号を得るように空間領域の信号処理を実行することにより、上記所望値の評価値信号が得られた、上記各可変リアクタンス素子のリアクタンス値に対応する信号を発生して上記各可変リアクタンス素子に出力する第2の処理手段とを備えたことを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図面を参照して本発明に係る実施形態について説明する。

<実施形態>
図1は、本発明に係る実施形態である、エスパアンテナと呼ばれるアレーアンテナ装置100のための制御装置の構成を示すブロック図である。この制御装置の特徴は、アレーアンテナ装置100に対して、時間領域信号処理部4と、評価値計算部5と、空間領域信号処理部6とを備えたことを特徴としている。

図1において、このアレーアンテナの制御装置は、1つの励振素子A0と、6個の非励振素子A1乃至A6と、接地導体11とを備えてなる従来技術のエスパアンテナで構成されたアレーアンテナ装置100のための制御装置である。アレーアンテナ装置100においては、1つの励振素子A0と、6個の非励振素子A1乃至A6とは、図1に示すように、励振素子A0を中心とする半径dの円周上に非励振素子A1乃至A6が等間隔となるように配置される。ここで、非励振素子A1乃至A6の各一端はそれぞれ、各可変リアクタンス素子12−1乃至12−6を介して接地されている。また、非励振素子A1乃至A6は、図2に示すように、各素子A0乃至A6の長さに対して十分に大きい広さを有する導体板にてなる接地導体11とは電気的に絶縁されるように支持され、各非励振素子A1乃至A6の接地導体11側の他端はそれぞれ、可変リアクタンス素子12−1乃至12−6を介して接地されている。また、各可変リアクタンス素子12は例えば可変容量ダイオードにてなる。なお、各素子A0乃至A6は例えば1/4波長の長さを有するモノポール型アンテナ素子である。また、半径dは1/4波長である。ここで、1波長は送受信する無線信号の波長である。

アレーアンテナ装置100の励振素子A0で受信された受信信号は、低雑音増幅器1により増幅された後、ダウンコンバータ2により例えば中間周波信号にダウンコンバートされ、さらにはA/D変換器3によりディジタル形式の受信信号x(k)にA/D変換されて時間領域信号処理部4に入力される。次いで、時間領域信号処理部4は、入力される受信信号x(k)に基づいて、主ビームの方向が実質的に所望波の方向に向くように上記受信信号x(k)に対して時間領域の信号処理を実行して処理信号y(k)を評価値計算部5及び復調器7に出力する。時間領域信号処理部4における具体的な時間領域の処理は、詳細後述するように、図3に示すようなトランスバーサルフィルタ回路20及びCMA処理コントローラ21からなる時間領域信号処理部4−1により実行される第1の実施形態に係る処理、もしくは、図5に示すようなトランスバーサルフィルタ回路20及びLMS処理コントローラ21aからなる時間領域信号処理部4−2により実行される第2の実施形態に係る処理などである。一方、復調器7は、入力される処理信号y(k)に対して、送信側の変調方式に対応した復調処理を施し、復調後の復調信号を外部装置に出力する。

次いで、評価値計算部5は、一時記憶メモリを有する例えばDSP(ディジタル・シグナル・プロセッサ)などのMPUで構成され、入力される処理信号y(k)に基づいて、所定の評価基準を用いて評価値を演算して、評価値を示す評価値信号を空間領域信号処理部6に出力する。さらに、空間領域信号処理部6は、一時記憶メモリを有する例えばDSPなどのMPUで構成され、入力される評価値信号に基づいて、実質的に所望値の評価値信号を得るように空間領域の信号処理を実行することにより、上記所望値の評価値信号が得られた、各可変リアクタンス素子12−1乃至12−6のリアクタンス値に対応する印加電圧信号を発生して各可変リアクタンス素子12−1乃至12−6に出力する。ここで、各可変リアクタンス素子12−1乃至12−6がそれぞれ可変容量ダイオードで構成される場合は、上記印加電圧信号は、印加バイアス電圧である。すなわち、各印加バイアス電圧を変化することにより、各可変リアクタンス素子12−1乃至12−6のリアクタンス値を変化させることにより、所望の指向性パターンを得るように制御できる。ここで、空間領域信号処理部6における具体的な空間領域の処理は、詳細後述するように、図4に示す遺伝的アルゴリズム(GA)を用いた空間領域信号処理(第1の実施形態)、もしくは、図6に示す差分ベクトルの簡易探索法を用いた空間領域信号処理(第2の実施形態)などの処理である。なお、上記評価値は、評価関数の関数値であり、その所望値は第1及び第2の実施形態の場合のように最小値である場合であってもよいし、その評価関数に依存して最大値であってもよい。

以上説明したように、本実施形態によれば、アレーアンテナ装置100に対して、時間領域信号処理部4と、評価値計算部5と、空間領域信号処理部6とを備えたことにより、アレーアンテナ装置100で受信された受信信号に対して、主ビームの方向が実質的に所望波の方向に向くようにかつ実質的に所望値の評価値信号を得るように、時間領域信号処理と、空間領域信号処理とを組み合わせた時空間信号処理を実行することができる。本実施形態の回路構成は、1つの励振素子A0に対する1系統の受信回路のみからなっているので、第2の従来例に比較して簡単化できるとともに、高速無線通信で問題となるマルチパスフェージングの影響を軽減するのに有効である。

なお、アレーアンテナ装置100は、可逆回路であって、送信アンテナとして用いるときは、励振素子A0のみに無線信号が給電される一方、受信アンテナとして用いるときは、相手先の送信機からの無線信号が励振素子A0により受信信号として受信される。

<第1の実施形態>
図3は、図1の時間領域信号処理部4の第1の実施形態である時間領域信号処理部4−1及び評価値計算部5−1の内部構成を示すブロック図である。

図3において、時間領域信号処理部4−1は、線形等化器であるトランスバーサルフィルタ回路20と、CMA処理コントローラ21とを備えて構成される。A/D変換器3から出力される受信信号x(k)は、トランスバーサルフィルタ20に入力され、ここで、CMA処理コントローラ21に出力されるとともに、乗算器14−1を介して加算器15に出力され、また、受信信号x(k)は、それぞれ例えば1シンボルの1/4ないし1/2の遅延時間を有し互いに縦続接続された複数(M−1)個の遅延回路13−1乃至13−(M−1)を介して乗算器14−M及びCMA処理コントローラ21に出力される。遅延回路13−1から出力される受信信号はCMA処理コントローラ21に出力されるとともに、乗算器14−2を介して加算器15に出力される。また、遅延回路13−m(m=2,3,…,M−1)から出力される受信信号はCMA処理コントローラ21に出力されるとともに、乗算器14−(m+1)を介して加算器15に出力される。ここで、各乗算器14−mの重み係数wk,m(m=1,2,…,M)は後述するCMA処理コントローラ21により演算されて各乗算器14−mにセットされ、各乗算器14−mは入力される信号に対して重み係数wk,mを乗算した後加算器15に出力する。さらに、加算器15は入力される複数M個の信号を加算して加算結果の信号を処理信号y(k)としてCMA処理コントローラ21及び評価値計算部5−1に出力する。

次いで、第2の実施形態に係る時間領域信号処理及び空間領域信号処理について以下に説明する。

図5において、時間領域信号処理部4−2は、トランスバーサルフィルタ回路20と、LMS処理コントローラ21aと、学習シーケンス信号発生器26とを備えて構成される。A/D変換器3から出力される受信信号x(k)は、図3と同様の構成を有するトランスバーサルフィルタ20に入力され、当該トランスバーサルフィルタ回路20内の遅延回路13−1乃至13−(M−1)の入出力端子から出力される信号は、図3の第1の実施形態と同様に、LMS処理コントローラ21aに出力される。また、トランスバーサルフィルタ回路20の加算器15から出力される処理信号y(k)はLMS処理コントローラ21a及び評価値計算部5−2内の減算器27に出力される。学習シーケンス信号発生器26は、ディジタルデータ無線通信の通信前の学習処理において、送信機側で発生される学習シーケンス信号の信号パターンと同一の信号パターンを有する学習シーケンス信号r(k)を繰り返し発生してLMS処理コントローラ21a及び減算器27に出力する。

以上のように構成されたアレーアンテナの制御装置においては、時空間信号処理を、低価格で実現できるエスパアンテナであるアレーアンテナの制御装置100と等化器(トランスバーサルフィルタ回路20)を組み合わせることにより実現し、両者を連動して制御することにより、励振素子A0は1個のみなので、それ以降の回路は1系統のみでよく、従来高価だった時空間信号処理装置を低価格化でき、すなわち、回路構成を簡単化し、安価に製造できる。なお、従来技術において、エスパアンテナを利用した時空間信号処理装置はなく、エスパアンテナの指向性制御を行う空間領域信号処理部6は、時間領域信号処理部4及び評価値計算部5からの評価値信号の情報を得て、それに基づきエスパアンテナの指向性制御を行っている。
