Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an ink tank used in an ink jet recording apparatus, and more particularly to an ink tank configured to be detachable from an ink jet recording head.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an ink jet cartridge used in an ink jet recording apparatus includes a head cartridge having an ink jet recording head and a tank holder, and an ink tank that is detachable from the tank holder. In such an ink jet cartridge, it is only necessary to replace the ink tank when the ink is consumed, which is advantageous in terms of cost reduction as compared with an ink jet cartridge in which the head cartridge and the ink tank are integrated so as not to be detached.
However, in an ink jet recording apparatus using such an ink tank, when the ink tank is mounted when the ink tank is replaced, the ink leaks from the ink supply hole provided in the lower part of the ink tank, and the ink enters the ink jet recording apparatus main body. There are problems such as sticking to it and soiling the user's hands.
[0003]
Conventionally, the following techniques are known as methods for solving such problems.
(J01) (Technique described in JP-A-6-328714)
In the technique described in this publication, a recess for reducing the space volume in the ink supply hole sealed by the sealing material is provided on the wall surface portion around the ink supply hole provided in the lower part of the ink tank, and the sealing material is peeled off. In this case, a technique for reducing the amount of ink scattered from the ink supply hole as much as possible is described.
(J02) (Technique described in JP-A-7-315437)
In the technique described in this publication, a shape for reducing the peeling force is formed on at least a part of the sealing material that seals the air communication hole and the ink tank supply hole provided in the lower part of the ink tank. A technique is described in which when the sealing material is peeled off, the ink is prevented from scattering by being peeled off from the atmosphere communication hole side.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
(Problem of the above (J01))
In the technique of (J01), the space volume in the opening portion formed by the sealing material for sealing the ink supply hole is reduced, and thus the amount of ink accumulated in the space is reduced, but the sealing material for sealing is used. There is no countermeasure against the ink bridge (the ink film and the reservoir formed in the wedge-shaped space between the ink tank and the seal material) when peeling off. Therefore, when the final part of the sealing material is peeled off, there is a problem that the ink of the formed ink bridge is scattered.
(Problem of the above (J02))
Even the technique (J02) has not taken measures against the ink bridge when the sealing material to be sealed is peeled off.
[0005]
In view of the above-described circumstances, the present invention has the following description (O01) as a problem.
(O01) To prevent ink leakage when the sealing material is peeled off from the ink supply hole.
[0006]

Next, the configuration of the present invention devised to solve the above problems will be described. The configuration of the embodiment is used in order to facilitate correspondence with the configuration elements of the embodiments described later. The element code is enclosed in parentheses. The reason why the present invention is described in correspondence with the reference numerals of the embodiments described later is to facilitate the understanding of the present invention, and not to limit the scope of the present invention to the embodiments.

In the ink tank for an ink jet recording apparatus of the present invention having the above-described features, when the ink tank is connected to the ink jet recording head, the ink filled therein is supplied from the ink supply hole (14) formed in the tank bottom wall (1). Supplied to the ink jet recording head.
The sealing material (17) formed by the sheet includes an annular inner adhesive region (19) adjacent to the outer peripheral edge of the ink supply hole (14) and a non-adhesive region (outside the inner adhesive region (19)). 21) and an outer adhesive region (22) provided on the outer side of the non-adhesive region (21). Leakage of ink filled in the tank body (Tk, TI) by bonding the inner bonding area (19) and the outer bonding area (22) of the sealing material (17) to the outer surface of the tank bottom wall (1). In order to prevent this, the ink supply hole (14) is sealed. As described above, the effect of preventing ink leakage can be enhanced by the double adhesive regions inside and outside the sealing material (17).
The tank bottom wall (1) facing the non-bonded area (21) of the sealing material (17) is bonded to the outer surface of the tank bottom wall (1) to which the outer bonding area (22) of the sealing material (17) is bonded. recess which is recessed from the side surface (18) Ru provided. In the tank body (T k , T I ), the outer surface of the tank bottom wall (1) facing the inner bonding region (19) and the non-bonding region (21) of the sealing material (17) is the sealing material (17 ) Of the tank bottom wall (1) opposite to the outer adhesive region (22). Further, a stepped portion is formed on the outer peripheral edge of the recessed portion. An ink cutting space is formed between the concave portion (18) and the non-adhesive region (21) of the sealing material (17).
When the sealing material (17) is peeled off when the ink tank is attached to the ink jet recording head, first, one side of the outer adhesive region (22) is peeled off, and then the inner adhesive region (19) is directed from one side to the other side. Peel off. An ink bridge is formed in a wedge-shaped space formed between the sealing material (17) and the outer surface of the tank bottom wall (1) when the sealing material (17) in the inner adhesive region (19) is peeled off. When the seal material (17) is peeled off from the inner adhesive region (19), the ink formed by the ink adhering to the seal material (17) or accumulated in the ink supply hole (14) by the ink cutting space. The bridge is cut.
[0009]
When the sealing material (17) is peeled off from the inner adhesive region (19), the other side of the outer adhesive region (22) is in a bonded state, and therefore the force acting on the ink bridge when the ink bridge is cut is small. Become. It should be noted that the force acting on the ink bridge when the ink bridge breaks can be further reduced by reducing the adhesive strength of the inner adhesive region (19). In this way, when the force acting on the ink bridge when the ink bridge is cut is reduced, the amount of ink scattered when the ink bridge is cut can be reduced. When the other side of the outer adhesive region (22) is peeled off after the ink bridge is cut, no ink bridge is formed on the seal material (17). Even if it is pulled and peeled off from the outer adhesive region (22), the ink does not scatter and the user or peripheral device is not soiled.
As described above, since the adhesive areas are doubled, even if the adhesive strength of the inner adhesive area (19) is weakened, the effect of preventing ink leakage is small.
