なお、光磁気ディスク30としては、AS−MO(Advanced Storage Magneto Optical)のような着脱可能なディスクが用いられる。
【0017】
イコライザ38はRF信号の周波数特性を補償し、PRML48(Partial Response Maximum Likelihood)に与える。

[Industrial application fields]
The present invention relates to a disk device, and more particularly to a disk device that records a desired information signal in one of a land area and a groove area formed on an optical disk by irradiating an optical disk with laser light output from a semiconductor laser.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The quality of the reproduction signal of information recorded on the optical disc depends on the recording laser power for recording the information signal. The quality of the reproduction signal indicates how many erroneous signals are included in the reproduction signal. The ratio of the error signal included in the reproduction signal is called an error rate, and the recording laser power at which the error rate is the lowest is called the optimum recording laser power.
[0003]
The value of the optimum recording laser power is different between the land area and the groove area.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The power of the recording laser is larger than the power of the reproducing laser, and the power consumption of the recording laser accounts for a large part of the power consumption of the disk device. Therefore, particularly in a portable disk device using a rechargeable battery as a power source, the power consumption of the recording laser has a great influence on the convenience of the disk device.
[0005]
Therefore, a main object of the present invention is to provide a disk device capable of suppressing the power consumption of the disk device.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention relates to a disc apparatus for recording a desired information signal in one of a land area and a groove area formed on the optical disc by irradiating the optical disc with a laser beam output from a semiconductor laser. First detecting means for detecting a first optimum recording laser power value of the semiconductor laser when recording the desired information signal, and detecting a second optimum recording laser power value of the semiconductor laser when recording the desired information signal in the groove area Second detecting means for comparing, comparing means for comparing the first optimum recording laser power value and the second optimum recording laser power value, and the first optimum recording laser power value being smaller than the second optimum recording laser power value The land area is determined as a recording destination of the desired information signal, and the second optimum recording laser performance is determined. Characterized in that it comprises a recording destination determination means for determining the groove area as the recording destination of the desired information signal when over value is smaller than said first optimum recording laser power value, is a disk device.
[0007]
[Action]
In this invention, before recording the desired information signal, the recording destination of the desired information signal is set to either the land area or the groove area according to the optimum recording laser power value of the land area and the optimum recording laser power value of the groove area. To decide. First, the first detection means detects the first optimum recording laser power value of the semiconductor laser when the desired information signal is recorded in the land area, and the second detection means detects the semiconductor information when the desired information signal is recorded in the groove area. A first optimum laser power value of the laser is detected. Next, the comparison means compares the first optimum recording laser power value and the second optimum recording laser power value to determine which optimum recording laser power value is smaller. When the first optimum recording laser power value is smaller than the second optimum recording laser power value as determined by the comparison means, the recording destination determining means determines the land area as the recording destination of the desired information signal, and the second optimum recording laser When the laser power value is smaller than the second optimum recording laser power value, the recording destination determining means determines the groove area as the recording destination of the desired information signal.
[0008]
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, when the recording destination is determined by the recording destination determining means, the desired information recording means records the desired information signal in the determined recording destination. At this time, the desired information recording means records the desired information signal with the first optimum recording laser power value when the recording destination is the land area, and records with the second optimum recording laser power value when the recording destination is the groove area. .
[0009]
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the first optimum recording laser power value and the second optimum recording laser power value are determined as follows. When determining the first optimum recording laser power value, first, the first recording means records a predetermined information signal in the land area. At this time, the first recording means performs recording while switching the recording laser power value set for the semiconductor laser stepwise. Next, the first reproducing means reproduces the predetermined information signal recorded by the first recording means from the land area, and the first error rate which is the error rate of the predetermined information signal reproduced from the land area is the first error rate detecting means. Will detect. Since the predetermined information signal reproduced from the land area is recorded with different recording laser power values in stages, the recording state of the predetermined information signal is also different in stages. For this reason, the first error rate detected by the first error detection means includes a plurality of error rates. The first specifying means specifies the first lowest error rate having the lowest error rate from the first error rate. When the first lowest error rate is specified, the first laser power determination means obtains a recording laser power value when the predetermined information signal having the first lowest error rate is recorded, and uses this recording laser power value as a first value. The optimum recording laser power value is used. Similarly, when determining the second optimum recording laser power value, first, the second recording means records a predetermined information signal in the groove area while gradually switching the recording laser power value. Next, the second reproducing means reproduces the predetermined information recorded in the groove area, and the second error rate detecting means detects the second error rate of the predetermined information signal reproduced from the groove area. Further, the second error detecting means detects a second error rate including a plurality of error rates, and the second specifying means specifies the second lowest error rate having the lowest error rate among the second error rates. When the second lowest error rate is specified, the second laser power determination means obtains a recording laser power value when the predetermined information signal having the second lowest error rate is recorded, and uses this recording laser power value as a second value. The optimum recording laser power is used.
[0010]
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, an error correction code capable of detecting an error signal included in the reproduced predetermined information signal is included in the predetermined information signal recorded by the first recording means and the second recording means. Are added, and each of the first error rate detection means and the second error rate detection means detects the first error rate and the second error rate using the error correction code.
[0011]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, since a desired information signal is recorded in an area where the optimum recording laser power is smaller among the land area and the groove area, the power consumed when the desired information signal is recorded can be reduced.
[0012]
The above object, other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description of embodiments with reference to the drawings.

Each of the magnetized portions of the magneto-optical film is called a pit, and the shape of each pit and the degree of magnetization vary depending on the power of the laser beam at the time of pit formation. Therefore, if the laser power for recording the information signal is different, the quality of the reproduction signal (RF signal) read from the pit string is also different. The quality of the RF signal here refers to the amount of error in the RF signal.

[0026]
Therefore, the laser power at the time of recording and reproduction at which the error rate is the lowest is determined for each of the land area and the groove area so that the amount of error signal is minimized. Furthermore, in order to reduce power consumption, information is preferentially recorded in an area having a smaller recording laser power among the land area and the groove area. If the information to be recorded is only half the storage capacity of the magneto-optical disk, the information can be recorded only in the recording area where the power consumption is small, so that the power consumption of the disk device can be reduced while maintaining the quality of the reproduction signal. it can.

First, in steps S31 and S33, the optimum reproduction laser power in the land area and the blue area is determined. Next, in steps S35 and S37, optimum recording laser powers in the land area and groove area are determined, respectively.

The
[0032]
Details of step S31 will be described with reference to the flowcharts of FIGS. First, in step S41, the recording laser power is initialized. In step S43, a seek signal is recorded by seeking to the land area. In step S45, area 51L RE , 51L RP Is initialized. Area 51L RE Stores the value of the lowest error rate of the land area, and the area 51L RP Stores the value of the reproduction laser power (optimum reproduction laser power) that provides the lowest error rate.
[0033]
In step S61, the initial value of the reproduction laser power is set in the
[0034]
As a result, the laser power (optimum reproduction laser power) that can reproduce the test signal recorded in the land area with the initial recording laser power with the lowest error rate is obtained. Area 51L RE The value of (minimum error rate) is the area 51L RP It is only necessary for obtaining the value of (optimum reproduction laser power) and is not used in the subsequent processing.
[0035]
Next, in step S33, the reproduction laser power of the groove area is determined. Details of step S33 are shown in the flowcharts of FIGS. The processing procedure is the same as the processing procedure for determining the optimum reproduction laser power of the land area shown in the flowcharts of FIGS. 5 and 6 except that the target for reproducing the test signal is the groove area. Detailed description is omitted. By the processing from step S81 to step S113, the laser power (optimum reproduction laser power) that can reproduce the test signal recorded in the groove area with the initial recording laser power at the lowest error rate is the area 51G. RP In addition, the minimum error rate at that time is the area 51G RE To find each. Area 51G RE The value of (minimum error rate) is also the area 51G RP It is only necessary for obtaining the value of (optimum reproduction laser power) and is not used in the subsequent processing.
[0036]
When the optimum reproduction laser power for each of the land area and the groove area is obtained, the optimum recording laser power for the land area is obtained in step S35.
[0037]
The reproduction laser power was determined by reproducing the test signal recorded with the initial recording laser power. Next, the test signal is recorded by changing the recording laser power in a plurality of stages, and the test signal is reproduced with the optimum reproduction laser power determined previously. The recording laser power at which the error rate of the reproduction signal at this time is the lowest is obtained. This is the optimum recording laser power. Details of step S49 will be described with reference to the flowcharts of FIGS.
[0038]
First, in step S121, the area 51L WE And area 51L WE And initialize. Area 51L WP Stores the value of the recording laser power for recording the test signal in the land area, and the area 51L WE In the area 51L WP The error rate when the test signal recorded with the laser power of the value is reproduced is stored. Area 51L WE Initialize with a value above the highest error rate that can be measured. In step S123, the area 51L is set as the value of the reproduction laser power. RP Set the value of. In step S125, the recording laser power is initialized. In step S127, it is determined whether the value of the recording laser power exceeds a preset upper limit value. If the upper limit is not exceeded, the process proceeds to step S129. In step 129, seek is performed in the land area, and a test signal is recorded with the currently set recording laser power. In step S131, seek is performed again in the land area of the
[0039]
In step S141 and subsequent steps, the optimum recording laser power at the laser power equal to or lower than the initial value is obtained, but the value of the measurement error rate is the area 51L. WE Area 51L only when it is smaller than the value already stored in WE And area 51L WP Update. Therefore, when the process for obtaining the optimum recording laser power at the laser power below the initial value is completed, the optimum recording laser power and the lowest error rate between the upper limit and the lower limit of the recording laser power are obtained.
[0040]
In step S141, the recording laser power is initialized again. Next, in step S143, it is determined whether the value of the recording laser power exceeds a preset lower limit. If the lower limit is not exceeded, seek is performed to the land area of the
[0041]
When step S35 is completed and the optimum recording laser power for the land area is determined, the optimum recording laser power for the groove area is determined in step S37.
[0042]
Details of step S37 are shown in the flowcharts of FIGS. Since the processing procedure shown in the flowcharts shown in FIGS. 9 and 10 is the same as that shown in FIG. 9 and FIG. Detailed description is omitted. As a result of the process in step S37, the area 51G WE Is stored with the value of the lowest error rate in the groove area. WP Is stored with the optimum recording laser power.
[0043]
When step S37 (FIG. 4) ends, step S5 (FIG. 3) ends. When step S5 ends, the minimum error rate of the land area is the area 51L. WE In addition, the optimum recording laser power is 51L. WP Is stored in each. In addition, the minimum error rate of the groove area is the area 51G. WE In addition, the optimum recording laser power is area 51G. WP Is stored in each.

If it is determined in step S7 that the digital camera 10 is powered on, it is determined in step S9 whether the shutter button 36 (FIG. 1) has been turned on. While the
[0045]
In step S11, area 51L WP Value and area 51G WP Are compared with each other to determine which of the optimum recording laser power in the land area and the optimum recording laser power in the groove area is smaller. When the optimum recording laser power of the land area is smaller, the land area is determined as the recording area in step S13, and the recording laser power is set to the area 51L in step S14. WP Set to the value of. If the optimum recording laser power in the groove area is smaller, the groove area is determined as a recording area in step S15, and the recording laser power is set in area 51G in step S16. WP Set to the value of. When the recording laser power is set in step S14 or step S16, the process proceeds to step S17.
[0046]
In step S17, it is confirmed from the state of the recording mode changeover switch 34 (FIG. 1) whether the recording mode is the still image recording mode or the moving image recording mode. If it is determined in step S19 that the recording mode is the still image recording mode, the process proceeds to step S21. If it is determined that the recording mode is the moving image recording mode, the process proceeds to step S25. In step S21, the compressed YUV signal corresponding to the camera signal output from the

[0048]
According to this embodiment, the still image signal and the video signal of the moving image signal are recorded in the area having the smaller optimum recording laser power among the land area and the groove area. Further, the recording laser power at the time of recording is the optimum recording laser power at which the error rate of the reproduction signal is the lowest. Therefore, not only can the video signal be recorded with high quality, but also the power consumption during recording can be reduced, and in particular, the convenience of the portable disk device can be improved.
[0049]
If there is not enough free space in a recording area with a lower recording laser power, a video signal is recorded in the other recording area. In this case, however, recording is performed with the optimum recording laser power in the recording area.
[0050]
The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modifications may be made. For example, although a still image signal or a still image signal is recorded, not only these video signals but also any information signals such as text and programs can be used as recording signals.
[0051]
In the above embodiment, the error rate and the optimum recording laser power of the land area and the groove area were measured when the power of the digital camera was turned on. When the external factors such as temperature and humidity change greatly compared to the above, when the track position recorded in the recording area changes greatly, and when the error rate of the video signal reproduced from the recording area increases. The error rate and optimum reproduction / recording laser power may be measured. In this case, the video signal with the highest recording quality can be recorded and stored on the magneto-optical disk with low power consumption even if the recording conditions change.
