【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、ゴルフボールのピックアップを補助する器具に関する。

【従来の技術】
パッティンググリーン上などにおいて、地表からゴルフボールを拾い上げるピックアップ作業は、通常、地表のボールに直接手を近づけることにより行われる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、こうしたピックアップ作業は、腰やひざを曲げて行うため、体の部位に局所的な負担がかかりやすい。特に、ホールインしたゴルフボールを拾い上げる作業は、地表よりもさらに下に手を伸ばさないといけないため、上記負担が増しやすい。そのため、例えば腰痛を患うプレイヤーにとって、こうした負担を軽減する手法の開発が望まれている。

本発明は、上述する事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、地表のゴルフボールに直接手を近づけなくても、離れた位置からゴルフボールを拾い上げることを可能にし、ピックアップ作業に伴う人体への負担を軽減できるゴルフボール用ピックアップ補助具を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記課題を解決することを目的として、本発明者は、ゴルフボールを拾い上げるのを補助する器具として、ゴルフクラブに結合される結合部と、ゴルフボールを保持する保持部とを備えるゴルフボール用ピックアップ補助具を考案した。
この補助具は、結合部を介してゴルフクラブに結合されるとともに、保持部を介してゴルフボールを保持する構成であることから、ゴルフクラブを用いたゴルフボールのピックアップを可能にする。すなわち、この補助具をクラブに取り付けることで、クラブの長さを利用して、離れた位置からボールを拾い上げることが可能になる。
この場合、クラブの一方の端部、すなわちグリップあるいはヘッドにこの補助具を取り付け、他方の端部を手で持ってクラブを操作することにより、上記ピックアップに際して、クラブの長さを有効に利用できる。
また、クラブのグリップ側にこの補助具を取り付け、重いヘッド側を手で持つことで、クラブの重心が手元に近づき、クラブ操作が容易となる。
なお、上記補助具としては、結合部と保持部とが一体化されているほうが、取り扱い性が良く好ましいが、本発明はこれに限定されず、結合部の少なくとも一部が別体となっているものも含む。すなわち、ゴルフボールを保持する保持部をゴルフクラブに当接させ、接着テープ等の結合手段を用いてゴルフクラブに結合する形態等も本発明に含まれる。

上記補助具において、前記結合部がゴルフクラブのグリップエンドに結合され、前記保持部がゴルフクラブの軸方向の移動によってゴルフボールを保持するように構成されるのがより好ましい。この場合、グリップエンドに補助具が取り付けられ、ゴルフクラブの軸方向の移動によって補助具にボールが保持されることから、ホールインしたボールをクラブを用いて拾い上げることが可能になる。

具体的には、例えば、前記結合部がゴルフクラブのグリップエンドの孔に挿入される突起を含み、前記保持部がゴルフクラブの軸周りに周状に並ぶ複数の保持部材を含むとよい。この場合、結合部の突起がグリップエンドの孔に挿入されることにより、グリップエンドに補助具が結合される。また、ゴルフクラブの軸方向の移動により、周状に並ぶ複数の保持部材の間にボールが挟まれ、ゴルフボールが保持部に保持される。

また、上記補助具において、地表に配置可能な状態でボールマーカーを保持するマーカー保持部を備えるとよい。
この場合、前記マーカー保持部は、前記複数の保持部材の少なくとも１つの保持部材にそれぞれ設けられた、ボールマーカーの背面側を支持する支持面と、該支持面と略平行な板状部材とを含み、前記支持面と前記板状部材との隙間にボールマーカーの本体が挿入されるとともに、ゴルフクラブの軸方向の移動によって前記支持面にボールマーカーが押されて該ボールマーカーの突起が地中に挿入される構成とすることができる。
この構成により、上述したゴルフボールのピックアップに加えて、マーカーの配置を、ゴルフクラブを用いて行うことが可能となる。

この場合において、前記支持面は、前記複数の保持部材の残りの保持部材の先端に比べて、グリップエンドを基準として高い位置に設けられる構成とすることができる。
また、前記マーカー保持部の前記板状部材には、ボールマーカーの突起が挿入される長孔が設けられており、ゴルフボールのピックアップと同時に前記板状部材の前記長孔からボールマーカーの突起が外れて該ボールマーカーが地表に配置される構成とすることができる。
この構成により、ゴルフボールのピックアップと同時に、地表にボールマーカーを配置することができるので、クラブ操作が簡素化される。
なお、前記結合部は、ゴルフクラブのグリップとの結合／脱着が自在である、または、ゴルフクラブのグリップと一体化されている構成とすることができる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明について詳細に説明する。
図１は、本発明のゴルフボール用ピックアップ補助具の第１の実施の形態例を示す斜視図であり、図２は上記補助具の正面図、図３は上記補助具の平面図である。

図１〜図３において、本例のゴルフボール用ピックアップ補助具１０は、一体成形された樹脂製の部材からなり、ゴルフクラブ（パター）１００に結合される結合部１１と、ゴルフボール１０１を保持する保持部１２と、これら結合部１１及び保持部１２の基部となるベース１３とを備えて構成されている。なお、補助具１０の材質としては、樹脂に限らず金属など他の材質を用いてもよく、さらに、一種類の材質に限定されず複数種を組み合わせたものを用いてもよい。また、本例では、ゴルフクラブとしてパターが使用されるが、本発明は、補助具が結合されるゴルフクラブをパターに限定するものではなく、他のクラブを使用してもよい。また、ゴルフクラブに代えて棒状の部材に補助具を取り付ける場合も本発明に含まれる。

結合部１１は、ゴルフクラブ１００のグリップエンドの孔１０２に挿入される突起２０と、グリップの端面に当接される当接面２１とを含む。突起２０は、ベース１３を起点としてベース１３の中心軸に沿って直線状に延在して形成され、かつグリップエンドに設けられる孔１０２に応じて形状が定められている。
また、突起２０は、先端から根元に向かって徐々に太く形成され、その根元には抜け止め用の段差が設けられている。また、当接面２１は、突起２０の起点となるベース１３の一面である。突起２０がクラブ１００のグリップエンドの孔１０２に奥まで挿入され、クラブ１００のグリップ端面と結合部１１の当接面２１とが当接することにより、クラブ１００のグリップエンドに補助具１０が結合されかつ固定される。
なお、本発明における結合部としては、ここで説明したものに限定されず、他の形態のものも含まれる。例えば、結合部の他の形態として、接着面を有するもの、圧力差等を利用した吸着手段を有するもの、グリップの周面と結合される形態のもの、あるいはグリップと一体化された形態のもの等、様々な形態が適用可能である。本例の結合部１１は、グリップエンドの孔１０２に対して突起２０を挿脱するだけでクラブとの結合／脱着が可能であるので、取り扱いやすく、しかもグリップの周面に配置される部材がない。そのため、この補助具１０をクラブに取り付けたままでも、スイングの邪魔にもなりにくいという利点を有する。

保持部１２は、ベース１３を挟んで上記結合部１１と背中合わせに配置され、ゴルフクラブ１００の軸方向の移動によってゴルフボール１０１を保持するように構成される。具体的には、保持部１２は、ベース１３の中心軸周り（ゴルフクラブの軸周り、あるいはグリップの軸周り）に周状に並んで配置される複数（本例では３つ）の保持部材２５を含み、この複数の保持部材２５は、上記周の方向にほぼ等間隔に並び、ベース１３を起点として、結合部１１の突起２０とは概ね逆方向に延在して形成されている。
複数の保持部材２５は、図２に示すように、ゴルフボール１０１と同程度の空間を囲うように、互いに向き合う方向に凹状に湾曲して形成されている。保持部１２は、この複数の保持部材２５の内側の空間にゴルフボール１０１を収容することによりゴルフボール１０１を保持する。
また、図３に示すように、複数の保持部材２５は、先端（結合部１１と逆側の端部）の縁がベース１３の中心軸（ゴルフクラブの軸）を中心とする円周に沿って湾曲して形成されており、この縁のピッチ円直径Ｄ２はゴルフボールの直径よりも小さい。なお、ゴルフボールの直径は一般に４３ｍｍ程度であり、規定上は例えば４２．６７ｍｍ以上とされる。ゴルフボールは、この縁が形成する開口を介して上述した複数の保持部材２５の内側の空間に収容される。ゴルフボールの収容時、上述した縁による開口がゴルフボールの外形に応じて変化するように、複数の保持部材２５は弾性変形可能に構成されている。

また、図３に示すように、本例の補助具１０は、ベース１３の軸方向（ゴルフクラブの軸方向）と直交する方向における幅が、複数の保持部材２５の最も外側に湾曲した部分で最大となっている。この最大幅（図３に示す直径Ｄ１）は、パッティンググリーン上に形成されるホールの内径（例えば１０８ｍｍ）よりも小さい。
また、ベース１３には、結合部１１の突起２０と逆側の面から所定深さの孔２３が形成されている。この孔２３は、ボールマーカー１０３の保持用として用いられる。

次に、上記構成のピックアップ補助具１０を用いてゴルフボールを拾い上げる手順の一例について説明する。図４（ａ）〜（ｃ）は、上記構成のピックアップ補助具１０を用いたゴルフボールのピックアップ作業の様子を示す図である。

図４（ａ）において、まず、ゴルフクラブ（パター）１００のグリップエンドの孔に補助具１０の突起２０を挿入し、補助具１０をゴルフクラブ１００に結合する。その後、ゴルフクラブ１００のヘッド側を手で持ち、ゴルフクラブ１００を操作して、補助具１０をボール１０１に近づける。このとき、地表１１０に対してほぼ垂直または垂直に近い傾きにゴルフクラブ１００のシャフト（グリップ）を配置するのが好ましい。そして、複数の保持部材２５の先端をゴルフボール１０１に当接させてボール１０１に対して補助具１０を位置決めする。このとき、複数の保持部材２５の先端の縁がベース１３の軸（ゴルフクラブ１００の軸）を中心とする円周に沿って形成されていることから、上記当接によって、ゴルフボール１０１の中心を通る軸上にゴルフクラブ１００の軸心が位置決めされる。

次に、図４（ｂ）において、ゴルフボール１０１に補助具１０の先端を当接した後、クラブ１００を地表１１０に向けて移動させ、補助具１０の複数の保持部材２５の内側の空間にゴルフボール１０１を挿入させて収容させる。補助具１０の先端に設けられた開口の元の大きさはゴルフボール１０１よりも小さいことから、上記収容時、補助具１０の複数の保持部材２５が弾性変形して上記開口の大きさが変化する。また、ボール１０１の真上からクラブ１００を下に移動せることで、ボール１０１が横方向に移動することなく、保持部１２の内側の空間にボール１０１が容易かつ確実に収容される。

図４（ｃ）において、上述したゴルフボール１０１の収容が行われると、周状に並ぶ複数の保持部材２５の間にボール１０１が挟まれ、ゴルフボール１０１が補助具１０に保持される。なお、ゴルフボール１０１が保持されると、複数の保持部材２５の弾性変形が元に戻り、保持部１２の先端の開口は狭まり、その大きさはゴルフボール１０１の直径よりも小さくなる。そして、これにより、ゴルフボール１０１の落下が防止される。その後、クラブ１００を操作して、補助具１０を手元に近づけ、ボール１０１を補助具１０から取り上げることにより、ピックアップ作業が完了する。

このように、本例の補助具１０は、ゴルフクラブを用いたゴルフボールのピックアップ作業を可能にする。すなわち、この補助具１０をクラブ１００に取り付けることで、直接手をボール１０１に近づけなくても、クラブ１００の長さを利用して、離れた位置からボール１０１を拾い上げることが可能になる。また、本例では、クラブ１００のグリップ側にこの補助具１０を取り付け、重いヘッド側を手で持つことから、クラブ１００の重心が手元に近づき、クラブ操作を容易に行える。

さらに、この補助具１０は、ゴルフクラブ１００の軸方向の移動によってゴルフボール１０１を保持する構成であるので、図５に示すように、パッティンググリーン上に設けられたホール１０５に入ったボール１０１のピックアップに用いることができる。このとき、補助具１０はグリップエンドに取り付けられるので、クラブのヘッドがホールと干渉することはない。

図６は、本発明のゴルフボール用ピックアップ補助具の第２の実施の形態例を示す斜視図であり、図７は上記補助具の正面図、図８は上記補助具の平面図である。以下、この補助具について詳しく説明する。

図６〜図８において、本例のゴルフボール用ピックアップ補助具３０は、上述した第１の実施の形態例と同様に、一体成形された樹脂製の部材からなり、ゴルフクラブ（パター）１００に結合される結合部３１と、ゴルフボール１０１を保持する保持部３２と、これら結合部３１及び保持部３２の基部となるベース３３とを備えて構成されている。さらに、本例の補助具３０は、上述した第１の実施の形態例と異なり、地表に配置可能な状態でボールマーカーを保持するマーカー保持部３４を備えている。

結合部３１は、本例では、ゴルフクラブ１００のグリップエンドの孔１０２に挿入される突起４０と、グリップの端面に当接される第１当接面４１と、グリップの周面に当接される第２当接面４２とを含む。突起４０は、ベース３３を起点としてベース３３の中心軸に沿って直線状に延在して形成され、かつグリップエンドに設けられる孔１０２に応じて形状が定められている。また、第１当接面４１は、突起４０の起点となるベース３３の一面である。さらに、第２当接面４２は、後述する凸部４７の一面である。突起４０、第１当接面４１、及び第２当接面４２の相対的な位置関係は、ゴルフクラブ１００のグリップの形状に基づいて定められている。突起４０がクラブ１００のグリップエンドの孔１０２に奥まで挿入され、クラブ１００のグリップ端面と第１当接面４１とが当接し、かつクラブ１００のグリップの周面と第２当接面４２とが当接することにより、クラブ１００のグリップエンドに補助具３０が結合されかつ固定される。本例の補助具３０は、グリップ端面に当接される第１当接面４１に加え、グリップの周面に当接される第２当接面４２を含むことから、上述した第１の実施の形態例に比べて、ゴルフクラブとの結合状態が安定しやすい。なお、第２当接面４２はグリップの周面に当接されるものの、その当接場所はグリップ周面の一部であるので、本例の補助具３０をクラブに取り付けたままでも、スイングは可能である。

保持部３２は、本例では、上述した第１の実施の形態例と同様に、ベース３３を挟んで上記結合部３１と背中合わせに配置され、ゴルフクラブ１００の軸方向の移動によってゴルフボール１０１を保持するように構成される。具体的には、保持部３２は、ベース３３の中心軸（ゴルフクラブの軸、あるいはグリップの軸）を挟んで対向配置される２つの保持部材３５，３６を含み、この保持部材３５，３６は、ベース１３を起点として、結合部３１の突起４０とは概ね逆方向に延在して形成されている。
保持部材３５，３６は、図７に示すように、ゴルフボール１０１と同程度の空間を囲うように、互いに向き合う方向に凹状に湾曲して形成されている。保持部３２は、この保持部材３５，３６の内側の空間にゴルフボール１０１を収容することによりゴルフボール１０１を保持する。
また、本例では、保持部材３５に比べて，保持部材３６が長く延在して形成されている。保持部材３５の先端（結合部３１と逆側の端部）の縁と、その縁と同じ高さにある保持部材３６の部分は、ベース３３の中心軸（ゴルフクラブの軸）を中心とする円周に沿って湾曲して形成されており、この縁のピッチ円直径はゴルフボールの直径よりも小さい。ゴルフボールは、この縁が形成する開口を介して上述した保持部材３５，３６の内側の空間に収容される。ゴルフボールの収容時、上述した縁による開口がゴルフボールの外形に応じて変化するように、保持部材３５が弾性変形可能に構成されている。
また、保持部材３６の先端も同様に湾曲して形成されており、保持部材３５及び３６のそれぞれの先端の縁によって上記開口よりもさらに大きい開口が仮想的に形成される。これにより、本例では、上述した第１の実施の形態例に比べて、ゴルフボールに対する補助具の位置決めが容易となる。

マーカー保持部３４は、図７に示すように、保持部材３６の先端付近でボールマーカー１０３を保持するように構成され、ボールマーカー１０３の背面側を支持可能に設けられる支持面４５と、ボールマーカー１０３の突起１０３ａを位置決めする位置決め部４６とを備える。
保持部材３６の外面上には、保持部材３６の延在方向に沿って凸部４７が形成されており、その凸部４７の一端に上記支持面４５が設けられている。支持面４５は、保持部材３５の先端よりも高い位置で、ベース３３の中心軸（グリップの軸）と直交する面と平行に設けられている。
位置決め部４６は、保持部材３６の先端から支持面４５と平行になるように外方に延在する板状の部材４８を含む。この板状部材４８と上記支持面４５との隙間に、ボールマーカー１０３の本体１０３ｂが挿入される。また、板状部材４８には、ボールマーカー１０３の突起１０３ａの径に比べて若干大きい幅を有する長孔４９が設けられており、ボールマーカー１０３は、上記挿入時に長孔４９内に突起１０３ａが配置される。長孔４９に突起１０３ａが配置されることにより、ベース３３の中心を通る軸上（実際にはボール１０１の中心を通る軸上）にボールマーカー１０３が位置決めされる。
なお、本発明におけるマーカー保持部としては、ここで説明したものに限定されず、他の形態のものも含まれる。例えば、結合部の他の形態として、接着面を有するもの、圧力差等を利用した吸着手段を有するもの等、様々な形態が適用可能である。本例のマーカー保持部３４は、構造が簡素であり、かつクラブ１００の軸方向と直交する方向にボールマーカー１０３を移動させることで、ボールマーカー１０３の取り付け／取り外しが容易に行える。そのため、後述するように、ゴルフボール１０１のピックアップと同時に地表にボールマーカー１０３を配置することができるという利点を有する。

また、上述した第１の実施の形態例と同様に、本例の補助具３０は、ベース１３の軸方向（ゴルフクラブの軸方向）と直交する方向における最大幅が、パッティンググリーン上に形成されるホールの内径よりも小さい。そのため、ホールインしたボールのピックアップにも使用できる。
さらに、ベース３３には、ボールマーカー１０３の保持用として用いられる孔５０が、結合部３１の突起４０と逆側の面から所定深さで形成されている。

次に、上記構成のピックアップ補助具３０を用いてゴルフボールのピックアップと同時にボールマーカー１０３を地表（ここでは、パッティンググリーン）に配置する手順の一例について説明する。図９（ａ）〜（ｃ）は、そのピックアップ作業の様子を示す図である。

図９（ａ）において、まず、ゴルフクラブ（パター）１００のグリップエンドの孔に補助具３０の突起４０を挿入し、補助具３０をゴルフクラブ１００に結合する。また、補助具３０のマーカー保持部３４にボールマーカー１０３を保持させる。ボールマーカー１０３を保持させる作業は、補助具３０（グリップエンド）を下に向けた状態で、突起１０３ａを下に向けたボールマーカー１０３をマーカー保持部３４に側方向から挿入することにより行う。なお、補助具３０の向きは、ボールマーカー１０３が抜け落ちない状態であればよく、下向きに限定するものではない。その後、ゴルフクラブ１００のヘッド側を手で持ち、ゴルフクラブ１００を操作して、補助具３０をボール１０１に近づける。このとき、地表１１０に対してほぼ垂直または垂直に近い傾きにゴルフクラブ１００のシャフト（グリップ）を配置するのが好ましい。さらに、グリーン上のホールとボールとを結ぶ線上でかつホールから遠い側にボールマーカー１０３が配置されるように、保持部３２に対するマーカー保持部３４の向きを調節する。その後、保持部材３５，３６をゴルフボール１０１に当接させてボール１０１に対して補助具３０を位置決めする。

次に、図９（ｂ）において、クラブ１００を地表１１０に向けて移動させ、補助具３０の保持部材３５，３６の内側の空間にゴルフボール１０１を挿入させて収容させる。補助具３０の先端に設けられた開口の元の大きさはゴルフボール１０１よりも小さいことから、上記収容時、補助具３０の保持部材３５が弾性変形して上記開口の大きさが変化する。また、ボール１０１の真上からクラブ１００を下に移動せることで、ボール１０１が横方向に移動することなく、保持部３２の内側の空間に容易かつ確実に収容される。
また、このとき、上記ボール１０１の収容に伴って、マーカー保持部３４に保持されたボールマーカー１０３の地表１１０への配置が行われる。すなわち、クラブ１００を下に移動させることにより、まず、ボールマーカー１０３の突起１０３ａが地表１１０に接し、ボールマーカー１０３の本体部１０３ｂがマーカー保持部３４の支持面４５に当接される。そして、さらにクラブ１００を下に移動させることにより、上記支持面４５によってボールマーカー１０３が下に押され、ボールマーカー１０３の突起１０３ａが地中に挿入される。なお、本例では、このボールマーカー１０３の配置が完了する直前に、上述したボール１０１の収容が完了するように、補助具３０の形状が定められている。

図９（ｃ）において、上記ゴルフボール１０１の収容により、２つの保持部材３５，３６の間にボール１０１が挟まれ、ボール１０１が補助具３０に保持される。なお、ゴルフボール１０１が保持されると、保持部材３５の弾性変形が元に戻り、保持部３２の先端の開口が狭まり、その大きさはゴルフボール１０１の直径よりも小さくなる。そして、これにより、ゴルフボール１０１の落下が防止される。ゴルフボール１０１が補助具３０に保持されると、略水平方向あるいは斜め上に向けてクラブ１００を移動させ、地表１１０に配置されたボールマーカー１０３を補助具３０（マーカー保持部３４）から取り外す。この後、マーカー保持部３４の先端を用いてボールマーカー１０３を軽く押し、ボールマーカー１０３の突起１０３ａを完全に地中に挿入させるとよい。そして、クラブ１００を操作して、補助具１０を手元に近づけ、ボール１０１を補助具１０から取り上げることにより、ピックアップ作業が完了する。

このように、この補助具３０は、ゴルフクラブ１００を用いたゴルフボール１０１のピックアップ作業を可能にするとともに、それに加えて、ゴルフクラブ１００を用いたボールマーカー１０３の配置作業を可能にする。すなわち、この補助具３０をクラブ１００に取り付けるとともに、補助具３０にボールマーカー１０３を保持させることで、手を直接ボール１０１あるいは地表１１０に近づけなくても、クラブ１００の長さを利用して、離れた位置からボールマーカー１０３を地表１１０に配置することが可能になる。

しかも、この補助具３０は、ゴルフボール１０１のピックアップと同時に地表１１０にボールマーカー１０３を配置することが可能であり、クラブ操作が簡素である。
なお、この補助具３０は、前述した第１の実施の形態と同様に、ゴルフクラブ１００の軸方向の移動によってゴルフボール１０１を保持する構成であるので、パッティンググリーン上に設けられたホール１０５に入ったボール１０１のピックアップにも用いることも可能である。

以上、添付図面を参照しながら本発明に係る好適な実施形態について説明したが、本発明は係る例に限定されないことは言うまでもない。上述した例において示した各構成部材の諸形状や組み合わせ等は一例であって、本発明の主旨から逸脱しない範囲において設計要求等に基づき種々変更可能である。

【発明の効果】
以上説明したように、本発明のゴルフボール用ピックアップ補助具は、結合部を介してゴルフクラブに結合されるとともに、保持部を介してゴルフボールを保持するという特徴的な構成を採用している。この補助具をゴルフクラブに取り付けることで、地表のゴルフボールに直接手を近づけなくても、ゴルフクラブの長さを利用して、離れた位置からゴルフボールを拾い上げることが可能になる。その結果、ピックアップ作業に伴う腰やひざなどへの人体への負担を軽減できる。
