しかし、例えば、横が3cm、縦が4cmの小袋を例にとると、このような小さな袋を破袋して小袋と中味を分別する場合、数が少ない場合にはカッター等を用いて手作業により行うことも可能である。しかし、数が多くなった場合には、手作業での破袋作業には時間と人件費が嵩むことから、これを自動化できないか、との要望が強い。特に最近の加工食品や弁当、鍋物、おでん等のような商品の場合には、小袋に入れた調味料や汁が別添となっているケースが非常に多い。このため、上記自動化の要望が益々強まって来ているのが現状である。
