従来のこの種の浴槽に湯を自動的に供給できる自動お湯はり機能付給湯機は、浴槽にあらかじめ定められた量の湯がはられると、給湯機からの湯の供給が自動的に停止されるものである。

しかしながら上記従来の自動お湯はり機能付給湯機は浴槽の排水栓が閉止状態にあるか否かを検出する手段を有していなかったので万一浴槽の排水栓が開かれたままで自動お湯はりが行われた場合には、浴槽にお湯をためることなく一定量のお湯を流してしまうというムダが生じていた。またこのムダの発生を防ぐために、浴槽の排水栓部に閉止弁を取り付けたとしても、この閉止弁の制御信号線となるケーブル線の接続工事が浴槽の底に至るため、このケーブル線接続の防水処理を含め設置工事の上で難点があった。

上記課題を解決するために、本発明による自動お湯はり機能付給湯機は、リモコンの自動お湯はりスイッチを押すと、給湯機内の制御装置へ自動お湯はりシーケンスの始動指示と、浴槽の排水栓部に取り付けた電池で駆動する閉止弁への閉止指示を無線で通信する。
