本発明は、細菌培養、細胞培養、及び組織培養などに用いられるシャーレに関する。

現在、培養用のシャーレは様々な大きさの径のものが使用されている。一般には、図5に示すように、円形のシャーレ本体1に、円形でシャーレ本体1より大きな径の蓋体2を嵌着する。

特に径の大きいシャーレの場合、その蓋体2は片手では持ちきれず、またその形状が円形のため滑りやすく、シャーレ本体1から蓋体2を持ち上げて、シャーレを開ける際に、蓋体2を持ち損なって落としたり、蓋体2を別の容器や道具にぶつけて破損するという問題がある。

特に、シャーレを細胞培養や組織培養に用いる場合は、クリーンベンチ内で無菌操作を行うため、シャーレ本体1及び蓋体2の保持及び運搬には細心の注意を払うことが必要とされる。

本発明は前述の課題を解決すべくなされたものであり、細菌や細胞、組織培養等を無菌的に培養操作する際に、蓋体が、片手で楽に持ちやすく、滑りにくいために、落として破損したりすることのない機能性に優れたシャーレの提供を目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、シャーレ本体と該シャーレ本体に嵌着する蓋体とよりなるシャーレにおいて、蓋体の周壁部の外周面に 蓋体の天面部に対して鉛直方向に縦長の突起を複数個設けてなることを特徴とするシャーレを提供する。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明において、シャーレ本体は底面部と、底面部の外縁部に形成された周壁部とを有している。蓋体は、シャーレ本体に嵌着可能なように、シャーレ本体よりも大径の天面部と、天面部の外縁部に形成された周壁部とを有していて、蓋体の周壁部の外周面に複数個の突起が設けてある。

シャーレ本体及び蓋体の材質としては、ポリスチレンなどの樹脂やガラスなどを用いることができる。

前記突起の高さが1〜24mmで、幅が2〜20mmで、長さが3mm以上であるのが手の指で引っかけやすくて好ましい。

長さは、蓋体の天面部に垂直な方向の高さ以下の長さにすることで、突起のみが蓋体からはみ出して形成されないようにしてある。

突起の高さとは、蓋体の中心から半径方向における、蓋体の周壁部の外周面から突起の頂点までの高さをいう。突起の幅とは、蓋体の周壁部の外周面での、円周方向における突起の端部から端部までの幅をいう。突起の長さとは、蓋体の天面部に垂直な方向の、すなわちシャーレに鉛直方向の、突起の端部から端部までの長さをいう。

突起は、蓋体の周壁部の外周面に等間隔で3個以上設け、隣り合う突起と突起との間隔を蓋体の直径より小さくできるが、前記突起が前記蓋体の周壁部の外周面に等間隔に4個設けてあるのが、持ちやすく、かつ、いくつものシャーレを並べて配置しやすいので好ましい。等間隔に4個設けるとは、前記蓋体の周壁部をほぼ4等分する位置になるようにして設けることをいう。

蓋体の外径がたとえば120mmで、その周壁部の外周面に等間隔に4個の突起を設けてある場合、周壁部の外周面からの高さが25mm以上である突起になると、隣り合った突起と突起との頂部から頂部までの距離が蓋体の直径より長くなり、蓋体を、手の2本の指で支持して掴みやすくするための突起としては意味をなさず、また、複数個のシャーレを平面状態で並置する際、突起が邪魔になって効率よく置くことができない。

図1、図4により本発明のシャーレの第1実施例を説明する。シャーレは、ポリスチレン製のシャーレ本体1と、シャーレ本体1に嵌着するポリスチレン製の蓋体2とよりなる。

シャーレ本体1は、直径Aが141mmの底面部4と、底面部4の外縁部に形成された高さBが20mmの周壁部5とを有していて、肉厚は1.5mmである。

本発明によるシャーレを用いれば、シャーレの蓋体2を容易にかつ確実に指で掴むことができ、従来の径の大きいシャーレの欠点である、蓋体2を掴み損なって落とし、外来の雑菌が混入したり、培地をこぼすことを避けうるので、本発明は、安全かつ容易な無菌的操作を要求される細胞培養、組織培養等にきわめて有用である。
