本発明は、着座面からカマチ部にわたるコーナ部に適度に膨出した状態を保たせることができるうえに、縫製作業も容易で安価に提供できる車両用シートカバーに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来から、車両用シートカバーとして、例えば、実開昭61−194355号公報や実開平5−42797号公報などに見られるように、着座面を覆う表面被覆部と側面を覆うカマチ被覆部とを縫着一体化した袋状カバーが広く用いられている。

ところが、従来のこの種の車両用シートカバーにおいては、いずれも単にクッション体に密着して被覆するのみで、特に、着座面からカマチ部にわたるコーナ部に立体感を得ることはできないものであった。また、コーナ部における立体感を得るために、コーナ部に保形芯材を予めセットしておいたり、後工程によりコーナ部を縫製加工する等の特別な細工を施したものも一部に見られるが、このような細工を施したものは、縫製作業性に劣るとともに装着作業性にも劣り、更に生産コストも高くなるという問題点があった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
本発明は前記のような従来の問題点を解決して、コーナ部の表面が適度に膨出して風合いのある優れた立体感を呈することができるとともに、優れた縫製作業性および装着作業性も発揮することができ、また、生産コストの低廉化も図ることができる車両用シートカバーを提供することを目的として完成されたものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記のような課題を解決するためになされた本発明の車両用シートカバーは、シートカバー本体が、シートの着座面を覆う座面被覆部とカマチ被覆部との間にシートのコーナ部を覆うパッド層付きの幅狭のコーナ被覆部を介在させて三者を縫着一体化した袋状カバーであって、シートカバー本体の裏側には長さがコーナ被覆部の幅より短く、その両端縁を表面被覆部とコーナ被覆部との縫合部と、該コーナ被覆部とカマチ被覆部との縫合部に縫着してあり、前記コーナ被覆部を幅方向に彎曲させて外向きに膨出させる牽引用の力布が設けられていることを特徴とするものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下に、図面を参照しつつ本発明の好ましい実施の形態を示す。
図面は自動車用シートバックに適用した例を示すものであって、図中1はファブリック地よりなるシートカバー本体であって、このシートカバー本体1は、着座面を覆う表面被覆部1aと、この表面被覆部1aの端部に続くコーナ部を覆う幅狭のコーナ被覆部1bと、側面を覆うカマチ被覆部1cとよりなるもので、これら表面被覆部1aとコーナ被覆部1bとカマチ被覆部1cとは各々縫合部3a、3bにより縫着されたものとなっている。

前記したコーナ被覆部1bは、ポリウレタンフォーム等のクッション性のあるパッド層2が裏面にラミネートされたもので、前記コーナ被覆部1bとカマチ被覆部1cとの縫合部3bは力布4により内側すなわち表面被覆部側へ引っ張られた状態とされ、シートカバー本体1の裏側に設けられている力布4による牽引で前記コーナ被覆部が裏面のパッド層2の反発力下に幅方向に彎曲させて外向きに膨出されている。なお、図1に示したものにおいては、表面被覆部1aおよびカマチ被覆部1cにも同様のパッド層を有するものとしてあるが、少なくともコーナ被覆部1b以外のパッド層は必要に応じ設けるものである。

前記縫合部3bを力布4により内側へ牽引する手段としては、図1に示すように、コーナ被覆部1bの幅よりも短い力布4を用いてその一端縁を縫合部3bに縫着するとともに他端を表面被覆部1aとコーナ被覆部1bとの縫合部3aに逢着するのを普通とするが、図2に示すように、一端縁をコーナ被覆部1bとカマチ被覆部1cとの縫合部3bに縫着したものとしておき、前記表面被覆部1aとコーナ被覆部1bとの縫合部3aをシート側の固定ワイヤ5に吊込材6を介して引き込む吊込用Cリング7にこの力布4の他端縁を係止させるようにしてもよい。

次に、図1に示す車両用シートカバーの縫製手順につき説明する。
先ず、各別に裁断して用意された表面被覆部1aとコーナ被覆部1bとカマチ被覆部1cのうち、カマチ被覆部1cの上端縁と力布4の端縁の表側を重ねて仮縫を施し、次にコーナ被覆部1bとカマチ被覆部1cとを該カマチ被覆部1cの上端縁と力布4の一端縁の表側を重ねて縫合部3bにおいて縫着しておく。次いで、コーナ被覆部1bの他端縁と力布4の他端縁を重ねて仮縫を施し、このコーナ被覆部1bの他端縁を表面被覆部1aの端縁の表側を重ねて前記と同様に縫合部3aにおいて縫着し、最後に、力布4の他端縁を内側へ牽引してコーナ被覆部1bがパッド層2の反発力により外側に向け膨出した状態とし、この態勢を保持するよう力布4の端縁部を前記した縫合部3aに逢着してシートカバー本体1とすればよい。このため、本発明のシートカバーの縫製作業は従来のように予め保形芯材をセットしておいたり、後工程によりサイド部を縫製加工する等の特別な細工を必要とすることなく、通常の縫製作業のみで簡単かつ効率的に生産することができることとなる。

このように構成された車両用シートカバーは、コーナ被覆部1bとカマチ被覆部1cとの縫合部3bが力布4により内側へ牽引された状態とされ、該コーナ被覆部1bがパッド層2の反発力により外側に向け膨出・隆起されたものとなっているので、コーナ部表面は常に適度に膨出した状態に保持されることとなって優れた立体感を呈することとなり、また、裏側のパッド層2の弾性により風合いおよび十分な柔らかさもあり高品質なものとなる。

本発明は以上の説明より明らかなように、コーナ部表面が適度に膨出して風合いのある優れた立体感のあるものとすることができるとともに、優れた縫製作業性および装着作業性を発揮することができ、また、生産コストの低廉化も図ることができるものである。
よって本発明は従来の問題点を一掃した車両用シートカバーとして、産業の発展に寄与するところは極めて大である。
