本発明は電子写真装置の用紙折りたたみ装置に関する。

図3、図4は、従来の熱定着による印刷装置の用紙折りたたみ装置を示すものである。

電子写真装置は、印刷用紙3上に印刷データの形状で、粉体インクであるトナーを転写させ、図示しない定着装置で加熱することでトナーを融解し、印刷用紙3に定着させ、印刷用紙3の折りたたみを行っていた。

用紙折りたたみ装置は、印刷用紙3の折りたたまれた上面の高さが常に一定になるように上下動するテーブル4と、印刷用紙3の折りたたまれた上面に図示A方向から送風機1より風が送られ、各種印刷用紙幅に合わせて移動する用紙幅ガイド2から構成され、送風機1の送風6で定着装置で暖まった印刷用紙3の冷却を行いながらテーブル4上に印刷用紙3を折りたたんでいた。

送風機1からの送風6は送風機1の排出口から離れるにつれて広がり図4に示すように送風機1の排出口から近い用紙幅(a)の用紙端部での送風6は印刷用紙が折りたたまれる直前の狭い範囲Lで印刷用紙に当たるのに対して、排出口から遠い用紙幅(b)の用紙端部での送風6は広い範囲L′で印刷用紙に当たっていた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
従来の用紙折りたたみ装置では用紙冷却の送風6が、用紙幅(a)に比べ短い用紙幅(b)の用紙端部で広がるため、印刷用紙3がばたつき、印刷用紙3の折りたたみが安定せず、用紙幅によっては折りたたみ不良が発生するという欠点があった。

本発明の目的は、各種用紙幅の送風を調整し、用紙折りたたみ不良を防止することにより、安定した用紙折りたたみを実現できる用紙折りたたみ装置を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的は、印刷用紙を冷却する送風機と、各種印刷用紙幅に対応する用紙幅ガイドを備えた電子写真装置の用紙折りたたみ装置において、前記用紙幅ガイドに、前記送風機の風の流れを用紙幅に応じて変更可能とする調整板を設けることにより達成される。

本発明の一実施例を図1、図2を用いて説明する。

図1に示すように、送風機1の排出口の上に位置する高さで、用紙幅に合わせて移動する用紙幅ガイド2に送風機1から送風6を規制する調整板5を設ける。

上記のように構成された用紙折りたたみ装置では、図2に示すように用紙幅の長短に関わらず送風機1からの送風6が前記調整板により、印刷用紙に対して上方への送風6が遮断されるため、用紙幅(a)の場合と同等の範囲Lしか通さないため印刷用紙のばたつきが抑えられ、用紙折りたたみ不良を防止し、安定した用紙折りたたみを可能とする。
