【0001】

It is introduced into the said one end of the said transparent member through.
[0008]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
FIG. 1 is a diagram for explaining an example of use of a scaler according to the present invention. In the figure, 10 is a handpiece body, 20 is a power cord, 40 is a scaler chip, and the scaler chip 40 is well-known. Then, ultrasonic vibration is generated by an ultrasonic vibrator or an air vibrator provided in the handpiece body 10, and the tip is applied to the tooth, thereby removing tartar, plaque and the like adhering to the surface of the tooth. Therefore, its operation, usage, etc. are exactly the same as those of conventionally known scaler chips and scalers.
[0009]
The handpiece body 10 or the power cord 20 has a light source 1, introduces light from the light source 1 into one or a plurality of light guides (optical fibers) 2, and radiates from the tip of the optical fiber 2. Thus, as described with reference to FIG. 3, the tip of the scaler chip is illuminated. However, when the scaler chip is the chip 30 having the shape as shown in FIG. The tip portion of the chip 30 is within the illumination light irradiation range and can illuminate the tip portion of the chip 30. However, when the chip 40 has a shape as shown in FIG. The tip portion is out of the illumination light irradiation range, and the tip portion of the chip 40 cannot be illuminated.
[0010]
In FIG. 1, 3 is an ultrasonic vibrator, 4 is a power line for driving the ultrasonic vibrator 3 (in the case of an air scaler, an air tube), and 5 is for transmitting the vibration of the ultrasonic vibrator 3. In this ultrasonic transmission member, the scaler chip is detachably screwed to the ultrasonic transmission member 5. Note that the ultrasonic wave generation source is not limited to the electric ultrasonic vibrator as illustrated, and may be ultrasonically vibrated by air. Various types of scaler chips are prepared depending on the purpose of treatment, and the surgeon selects and uses a scaler chip suitable for the purpose of treatment. In this case, in FIG. As shown to B), there exists a thing which a front-end | tip part will remove | deviate from the range of illumination light.
[0011]
As described above, the present invention is provided with an optical member that can illuminate the tip of the scaler chip even when a scaler chip whose tip is out of the illumination light irradiation range is mounted. In FIG. 1, reference numeral 50 denotes the optical member.
[0012]
In FIG. 1, reference numeral 50 denotes an optical member added according to the present invention, and the optical member 50 is a light guide that is detachably and rotatably attached to the tip of the handpiece body 10, specifically, a transparent body. As shown in the figure, the optical member 50 is a bent tube, and one end of the optical member 50 is disposed to face the light emitting end of the optical fiber 2. Therefore, the light emitted from the optical fiber 2 propagates through the optical member 50 and is emitted as illumination light from the tip portion. The optical member 50 is attached to the handpiece body 10 so as to be rotatable. Therefore, the light irradiation direction can be directed to the tip direction of the attached scaler chip 40, and the scaler chip 40 can be directed. After being screwed to the handpiece body 10, it can be adjusted and rotated so as to irradiate light toward the tip of the scaler chip 40.
[0013]
FIG. 2A is a diagram showing a state when the optical member 50 according to the present invention is removed from the handpiece body 10, and the optical member 50 is made of a transparent resin or the like, and is attached to the handpiece body 10. On the other hand, it can be attached and detached as necessary. When it is not necessary, it is removed and the light from the optical fiber 2 is emitted as it is from the tip of the optical fiber 2 to remove the tip of the scaler chip. Illuminate. Incidentally, the optical member 50 is a tube as shown at 50 1 (ring) shape, or arcuate as shown at 50 1 (C-shaped) tubular body, as described above, the one annular or arcuate one Light incident from the end face 50a is emitted from the other end 50b side. When the shape of the scaler chip to be used is as shown in FIG. 3B, that is, the tip of the scaler chip is out of the range of illumination light emitted from the end of the optical fiber 2. As shown in FIG. 1, the optical member 50 according to the present invention is used to illuminate the tip of the scaler chip 50.
[0014]
FIG. 2B is a schematic view showing a state when the optical member 50 according to the present invention is mounted on the distal end portion of the handpiece body 10, and the scaler chip 40 has a male screw as shown in FIG. The male screw portion 40a is screwed into the female screw portion provided at the tip of the ultrasonic transmission member 5 of the handpiece body 10 and is attached to the handpiece main body 10. However, because of the screw-in type, the direction of the scaler chip 40 is indefinite, and as shown in FIG. 2B, for example, the scaler chip 40 may be mounted facing upward. In such a case, the optical member 50 according to the present invention is rotatably attached to the handpiece body 10, so that it is bent upward as shown in FIG. The light that can be attached and introduced into the optical member 50 by the optical fiber 2 is bent upward by the optical member 50 and emitted, so that the tip of the scaler chip 40 can be illuminated.
[0015]
【The invention's effect】
As is apparent from the above description, an optical member is detachably attached to the tip of the handpiece body of the scaler, and the radiation direction of the illumination destination radiated from the tip of the handpiece is bent in a desired direction by the optical member. Therefore, even when the scaler chip has a tip that is out of the illumination range when the optical member is not attached, the tip of the scaler chip is illuminated. be able to.
