Description
【0001】

【0046】
PCA(Power Calibration Area)
【0047】
PMA(Program Memory Area)

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an information recording / reproducing apparatus such as a CD-R drive and a CD-RW drive for recording and reproducing data on and from an optical disk such as a CD-R and a CD-RW.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, data is recorded on an optical disk such as a CD-R or the like in track units, table of contents information (TOC) recorded on the optical disk is read, and information recording / reproducing is performed to determine whether the optical disk is a read-only disk or a recordable disk. There has been an apparatus (for example, see JP-A-4-106758 and JP-A-5-205279).
[0003]
In the information recording / reproducing apparatus as described above, the number of tracks recorded in the PMA area is usually the same as the number of tracks existing in the program area in the mounting process when an arbitrary optical disc on which data is recorded is inserted. . When a reserved track exists, the number of tracks recorded in the PMA area is larger.
[0004]
However, a track not recorded in the program memory area (PMA area) for managing track information may be detected in the program area.
For example,
[0005]
The reason why such a track exists may be as follows.
(1) A servo error occurred during or before recording in the PMA area, and track information could not be recorded in the PMA area.
(2) A write error such as a servo error occurred while recording a track, and the subsequent track information could not be recorded in the PMA area.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the information recording / reproducing apparatus as described above, a track that is not recorded in a program memory area (PMA area) for managing track information in a mounting process when an arbitrary optical disc on which data is recorded is inserted is stored in the program area. Since the number of tracks based on the track information in the PMA area does not match the number of tracks existing in the program area, it is impossible to additionally write data thereafter, and the recordable area of the optical disc is wasted. There was a problem that would be.
[0007]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and has as its object to enable subsequent recording even if a track in which track information is not recorded in a program memory area of a recordable optical disc is in the program area. And
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides an information recording / reproducing apparatus provided with means for recording and reproducing data in track units on a recordable optical disc, wherein a mounting process is performed when an optical disc on which data is recorded is inserted. When a track in which no track information is recorded in the program memory area is detected in the program area, a start address and an end address of the detected track are detected, and track information including the detected start address and end address is stored in the program memory. Means for appending to the areaWhen there is an error track in a session where the lead-in area and the lead-out area on the optical disc are not recorded, the table of contents of the error track is erased, and the track number of the track following the error track is set to 1 Means to subtract and record byIs provided.
[0009]
Further, in an information recording / reproducing apparatus provided with means for recording and reproducing data in track units on a recordable optical disk, track information is recorded in a program memory area by a mounting process when an optical disk on which data is recorded is inserted. When a track that has not been detected is detected in the program area, it is determined whether or not the length of the detected track satisfies the minimum standard value. Dummy data is added from the end to extend to a track length satisfying the minimum specification value, a start address and an end address of the extended track are detected, and track information including the detected start address and end address is stored in the program memory. Means for appending to the areaWhen there is an error track in a session where the lead-in area and the lead-out area on the optical disc are not recorded, the table of contents of the error track is erased, and the track number of the track following the error track is set to 1 Means to subtract and record byShould be provided.
[0010]
Further, it is preferable to provide a means for setting the reproduction inhibition for the track of the additionally written track information.
[0011]
Further, in an information recording / reproducing apparatus provided with means for recording and reproducing data in track units on a recordable optical disk, track information is recorded in a program memory area by a mounting process when an optical disk on which data is recorded is inserted. When a track that has not been detected is detected in the program area, it is determined whether or not the length of the detected track satisfies the minimum standard value. When the track satisfies the minimum standard value, the vicinity of the end address of the track is reproduced, When the run-out block cannot be detected, it is determined that the track is an error track, the start address and the end address of the detected track are detected, and track information including the detected start address and end address is added to the program memory area. For the track with the added track information Means for setting a reproduction prohibitedWhen there is an error track in a session where the lead-in area and the lead-out area on the optical disc are not recorded, the table of contents of the error track is erased, and the track number of the track following the error track is set to 1 Means to subtract and record byShould be provided.
[0012]
Further, it is preferable to provide a means for recording the reproduction prohibition information indicating the reproduction prohibition setting on the inserted optical disk.
[0014]
An information recording / reproducing apparatus according to
[0015]
Therefore, when a track on which track information such as a start address and an end address is not recorded in the program memory area of the optical disc is detected in the program area in the mounting process when the optical disc is inserted, the track information of the track is detected. Thus, a new track can be added after the track, and the free area of the optical disk can be effectively used.Further, when the data is reproduced by the reproduction-only device, the track having the track length satisfying the minimum standard value by additionally writing the dummy data on the optical disk and the predetermined run-out block cannot be detected even if the track length satisfies the minimum standard value. It is possible to prevent the reproduction of the error track, and it is possible to avoid the trouble caused by reproducing the error track.
[0016]
Further, with respect to tracks recorded in the program area of the optical disc, additional writing cannot be performed unless the track length meets the minimum standard value.
For example, in the case of a CD-R disc, the minimum standard value of the track length: 300 sectors is defined in the CD-R disc specification (CD-WO Ver. 2.0) called Orange Book, and the track length is 300. Additional recording cannot be performed on a CD-R disc having tracks smaller than a sector.
[0017]
Therefore, the information recording / reproducing apparatus according to
[0018]
Therefore, when a track recorded on the optical disk has a track length less than the minimum standard value, dummy data is added to the track so that the track length satisfies the minimum standard value. Additional recording can be performed, and the empty area of the optical disk can be effectively used.Further, when the data is reproduced by the reproduction-only device, the track having the track length satisfying the minimum standard value by additionally writing the dummy data on the optical disk and the predetermined run-out block cannot be detected even if the track length satisfies the minimum standard value. It is possible to prevent the reproduction of the error track, and it is possible to avoid the trouble caused by reproducing the error track.
[0019]
For example, if there is a track on the CD-R disc having a track length that does not reach the minimum standard value of 300 sectors, it can be determined that some write error has occurred during recording on that track.
Also, since the track length of the track is restored to 300 sectors and recorded, a new track can be added after the track.
[0020]
Furthermore, even if a track determined to be an error track is reproduced, the data cannot be correctly reproduced to the end because the track is terminated halfway, so that the reproduction process is wasted and the work efficiency is reduced. I will.
[0021]
Therefore, the information recording / reproducing apparatus according to
[0022]
Therefore, by prohibiting the reproduction of the track having the track length satisfying the minimum standard value by additionally writing the dummy data, the unnecessary processing time of the host computer, the reproduction application software, and the information recording / reproducing apparatus due to the reproduction of the track is reduced. Therefore, the working efficiency can be improved.
[0023]
Further, even if the track length of the track satisfies the minimum standard value, a write error occurs during recording, and there is an error track in which a predetermined run-out block is not recorded at the end of the track.
Even if such an error track is reproduced, the data cannot be correctly reproduced to the end because the track ends halfway, so that the reproduction process is wasted and the work efficiency is reduced.
[0024]
Therefore, the information recording / reproducing apparatus according to
[0025]
Therefore, by prohibiting the reproduction of a track for which a predetermined run-out block has not been detected even if the track length satisfies the minimum specification value, the host computer, reproduction application software, and information recording / reproducing apparatus for reproducing the track are prohibited. Wasteful processing time can be reduced, and work efficiency can be improved.Further, when the data is reproduced by the reproduction-only device, the track having the track length satisfying the minimum standard value by additionally writing the dummy data on the optical disk and the predetermined run-out block cannot be detected even if the track length satisfies the minimum standard value. It is possible to prevent the reproduction of the error track, and it is possible to avoid the trouble caused by reproducing the error track.
[0026]
In addition, when mounting the optical disc, the reproduction of the track whose track length satisfies the minimum standard value by adding dummy data and the track whose predetermined run-out block cannot be detected even if the track length satisfies the minimum standard value are prohibited. However, if the data is reproduced by the read after remounting, the reproduction processing is wasted and the working efficiency is reduced.
[0027]
Therefore, an information recording / reproducing apparatus according to a fifth aspect of the present invention records reproduction prohibition information indicating the reproduction prohibition setting on the inserted optical disc.
[0028]
Therefore, the reproduction prohibition information for the track having the track length satisfying the minimum standard value by additionally writing the dummy data on the optical disc and the track for which the predetermined run-out block cannot be detected even when the track length satisfies the minimum standard value is provided. By recording the data on the optical disk, the reproduction of the track can be prohibited based on the reproduction prohibition information even when the optical disk is remounted, so that the useless reproduction processing time of the host computer, the reproduction application software, and the information recording / reproducing apparatus is reduced. And work efficiency can be improved.
[0032]

It is determined whether or not the track does not satisfy the minimum specification value, and is determined to be an error track, and dummy data is added from the end of the detected track and extended to a track length satisfying the minimum specification value. The function also serves as means for detecting the start address and end address of the program and adding track information comprising the detected start address and end address to the program memory area.

Further, it also functions as a means for setting the reproduction inhibition for the track of the added track information.

Record the track information of the end address. FIG. 6 is an explanatory diagram of the TOC data recorded in the lead-in area of the CD-R disc. Point information (POINT) "01" to "99" is track information.
[0060]
Next, a description will be given of a mounting process of acquiring and recording unrecorded track information in the PMA area of the optical disk when the optical disk is inserted into the CD-R drive. FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing the mounting process.
[0061]
When the
[0062]
On the recording surface of the CD-R disc, ATIP is recorded in a track groove, and a physical address (minute, second, frame) is recorded in the ATIP. When this ATIP is detected, it can be determined that a CD-R disk has been inserted, and when ATIP has not been detected, it is determined that a stamp disk such as a CD-ROM generally sold in the market has been inserted. can do.
[0063]
Therefore, when a CD-R disc is inserted, the ATIP can be detected by the ATIP reproduction processing in
[0064]
Proceed to step 5 to determine whether or not the disc is a CD-R disc based on the result of the ATIP reproduction processing in
[0065]
In
[0066]
As shown in FIG. 5, the start address and end address of all tracks recorded on the optical disc are recorded in the PMA area regardless of the number of sessions. The number of tracks “X” can be obtained based on the track number.
[0067]
Proceed to step 8 to execute the TOC read for reproducing the lead-in area and reading the TOC information recorded in the lead-in area, and proceed to step 9 to execute the track information of the track in the session based on the TOC information. And proceeds to step 9 to reproduce all the lead-in areas when the optical disc is a multi-session disc and to acquire the number of sessions.
[0068]
As shown in FIG. 6, TOC information is recorded in the TOC area, and when the point information (POINT) is “01” to “99”, the value indicates the track information of the track existing in the session. ing. In a CD-ROM device (device exclusively for reproducing information), the TOC area is reproduced at the time of mounting to obtain track information.
[0069]
If the ATIP is not detected in
[0070]
Proceed to step 10 to determine whether the inserted optical disc is a CD-R disc, and if it is a CD-R disc, proceed to step 11 to proceed to the next track (X) of the maximum track number recorded in the PMA area. The head of the track (X + 1) having the track number is reproduced in the program area.
[0071]
The reproduction process is a process for confirming whether or not a track (X + 1) in which track information is not recorded in the PMA area exists in the program area on the optical disc. If it is determined that the track (X + 1) exists in the disc, additional recording is prohibited or the disc is recognized as an illegal disc.
[0072]
Proceeding to step 12, it is determined whether or not a reproduction signal has been detected when reproducing the track (X + 1). When a reproduction signal has been detected, the processing proceeds to step 13 and the track (X + 1) is cut by a half method from the break of the reproduction signal. Of the last address (end address).
[0073]
In the half method, an arbitrary reference address on the optical disk is accessed, and if a reproduction signal is present, a half position of the start address and the reference address is accessed, and if the reproduction signal is present, a further half position is accessed. This is a method of gradually narrowing the area.
[0074]
Proceeding to step 14, a track recovery process (recovery process) for recording the start address and the end address (end address) of the track (X + 1) as track information of the track (X + 1) in the PMA area is executed, and this process ends.
[0075]
Next, a track recovery process in which the CD-R drive performs recording based on a predetermined standard of the CD-R disc at the time of the mounting process described above will be described.
In the track recovery processing in
[0076]
Therefore, it is preferable to execute a track recovery process for recording based on a predetermined standard of the CD-R disc during the mounting process described above.
FIG. 8 is a flowchart showing the track recovery processing.
[0077]
Here, a case will be described in which the processing is executed in place of
[0078]
For a CD-R disc, the standard book "Orange Book" stipulates that the track length must be a minimum standard value: 300 sectors or more. Therefore, in a CD-R drive conforming to the Orange Book standard, it can be determined that the track length of a track that has been successfully recorded on the CD-R disk is 300 sectors or more. Further, even if a track having a track length of less than 300 sectors is recorded on a CD-R disc, some error occurs during recording, and the recording fails.

If the track length is "Y" <300 in
[0080]
On the other hand, if the track length "Y" is determined to be 300 sectors or more in
[0081]
For the CD-R disc, the above-mentioned standard "Orange Book" stipulates that a run-out block of two sectors must be recorded at the end of a track. Therefore, a track without a two-sector run-out block at the end can be determined to have an error during recording.

[0084]
Proceeding to step 27, it is determined whether or not the recording of the track information in the PMA area has failed. This determination is a determination as to whether track information has been retried (re-recorded) a predetermined number of times in the PMA area. If the retry is not over, the process returns to step 26 to re-record the track information in the PMA area, and proceeds to step 27 to determine whether or not the recording has failed.
[0085]
In this manner, when the recording of the track information in the PMA area fails, the re-recording of the track information in the PMA area is repeated in
[0086]

This read protection information is recorded in the buffer area (1) provided in the
[0089]
If an error occurs during the recording of a track on a CD-R disc, the track is incomplete and all data cannot be reproduced correctly.
Therefore, if the read protection information for the error track is recorded, it is not necessary to execute the reproduction of the track that has recognized the read protection information at the time of remounting the CD-R disc.
[0090]
Next, when a CD-R disc that has been subjected to the mounting process described above is used in a reproduction-only device, an error track cannot be recognized.
In the read-only device, when mounting an optical disc such as a CD-R or CD-ROM, only the TOC information is reproduced to obtain the track information. This is because the recorded read protection information cannot be referred to.
[0091]
That is, even if the error track on the optical disk is determined as described above and the reproduction inhibition is set for the error track, the reproduction of the error track cannot be inhibited when the optical disk is reproduced by the reproduction-only device.
This is because the read-only device reproduces only the TOC information at the time of mounting the optical disc to obtain the track information, and cannot recognize the error track on the optical disc.
Therefore, when closing a session in which an error track exists, the TOC data may be rewritten so as not to refer to the error track.
FIG. 9 is a flowchart showing a session closing process after the mounting process shown in FIG.
[0092]
This process is a process based on a SCSI command: Fixation command of an instruction for recording the lead-in area and the lead-out area when the session is closed. In
[0093]
Proceeding to step 43, it is determined whether or not there is a track in which read protection is set in the session based on the read protection information in the buffer area {circle around (1)}. When there is a track in which read protection is set, Proceeding to step 44, the track information of the track for which the read protection is set is deleted from the TOC table, and the flow advances to step 45 to increment the track number of the track subsequent to the track for which the read protection is set by one. Execute the process.
[0094]
In the number changing process, for example, when the track with the track number (X + 1) is an error track and the subsequent tracks are the track numbers (X + 2), (X + 3),. Each time, the track number is changed to (X + 1), (X + 2),.
Thus, the error track in the session is apparently erased.
[0095]
Proceeding to step 46, create a TOC table which is actual TOC information based on the above processing, proceed to step 47, execute the lead-in area recording processing, proceed to step 48, and determine whether the lead-in area recording processing has ended in error. Judge.

The CD-R drive detects a track in the PMA area of the CD-R disc in which track information such as a start address and an end address is not recorded in the program area during the mounting process when the CD-R disc is inserted. Sometimes, the track information of the track is detected and recorded in the PMA area, so that a new track can be added after the track, and the empty area of the CD-R disc can be used effectively.
[0098]
If there is a track on the CD-R disc whose track length does not reach the minimum standard value defined by the Orange Book: 300 sectors, it can be determined that a write error has occurred during recording of the track. Since the track length of the track is restored to 300 sectors and recorded, a new track can be added after the track.
[0099]
Furthermore, by adding dummy data and prohibiting the reproduction of an error track having a track length satisfying the minimum standard value: 300 sectors, the host computer, reproduction application software, and CD-R drive for reproducing the error track are reproduced. Wasteful processing time can be reduced, and work efficiency can be improved.
[0100]
Further, by prohibiting the reproduction of an error track whose predetermined run-out block has not been detected even if the track length satisfies the minimum standard value: 300 sectors, the host computer, reproduction application software, Useless processing time of the CD-R drive can be reduced, and work efficiency can be improved.
[0101]
Further, an error track whose track length satisfies the minimum standard value: 300 sectors by adding dummy data on the CD-R disc and a predetermined run-out block are detected even when the track length satisfies the minimum standard value: 300 sectors Reproduction prohibition information for error track that could not be recorded: By recording read protection information on the CD-R disc, it is possible to prohibit reproduction of the track based on the reproduction prohibition information even when the CD-R disc is remounted. As a result, useless reproduction processing time of the host computer, reproduction application software, and CD-R drive can be reduced, and work efficiency can be improved.
[0102]
Furthermore, when data is reproduced by a reproduction-only device, dummy data on a CD-R disc is additionally recorded to have an error track having a track length satisfying the minimum standard value: 300 sectors, and a track length satisfying the minimum standard value: 300 sectors. The error track for which the predetermined run-out block could not be detected cannot be referred to, and the reproduction thereof cannot be performed. Thus, it is possible to avoid a problem caused by reproducing the error track.
