Description
The present invention relates to a data transmission apparatus and a data transmission method for transmitting data in packet units, and more particularly, to a data transmission apparatus and a data transmission method for transmitting data while monitoring a reception state of a packet including a retransmission packet. About.
画像や音声などのデータを実時間性を考慮して伝送する方式として、RTP(Realtime Transport Protocol)が、一般に用いられる。 RTP: A Transport Protocol for Real-Time Applications", H.Schulzrinne, S. Casner, R. Frederik, and V. Jacobson, RFC1889, 1996. RTP (Realtime Transport Protocol) is generally used as a method for transmitting data such as images and sounds in consideration of real-time properties. For details of RTP, see “RTP: A Transport Protocol for Real-Time Applications”, H. Schulzrinne, S. Casner, R. Frederik, and V. Jacobson, RFC 1889, 1996. It is described in.

In a general transmission path, some of transmitted packets are lost due to transmission errors or congestion (hereinafter, referred to as “packet loss”). In the RTP, the packet

X.25の詳細は、”Recommendation X.25 - Interface between Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) and Data Circuit-terminating Equipment (DCE) for terminals operating in the pakcet mode and connected to public data networks by dedicated circuit”、ITU−T勧告、1996.
Further, as a data transmission method for detecting packet loss on the receiving side and requesting retransmission to the transmitting side without considering real-time performance, the ITU-T Recommendation X.264 has been proposed. 25 are widely known. X. For details of 25, see “Recommendation X.25-Interface between Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) and Data Circuit-terminating Equipment (DCE) for terminals operating in the pakcet mode and connected to public data networks by dedicated circuit”, ITU-T Recommendation , 1996. It is described in. FIG. 25 is a block diagram illustrating a configuration of a data transmission device using the No. 25. FIG. In FIG. 8, a
The retransmission
FIG. FIG. 25 is a sequence diagram of data transmission by No. 25. The
However, the above two data transmission methods have a problem that data transmission in consideration of real-time performance cannot be performed while monitoring the reception status of a retransmission packet.
In the RTP, data transmission is performed in consideration of real-time performance, and the transmitting side can know from the reception report packet how much the transmitted packet has been received or how much packet loss has occurred. However, when a packet is retransmitted, the transmitting side cannot know how much the retransmitted packet has been received or how much packet loss has occurred for the retransmitted packet.
X. In 25, the transmitting side can know the reception status of the retransmission packet by the reception confirmation packet. However, after transmitting a packet, and after transmitting a predetermined number of packets, the transmitting side suspends transmission of subsequent packets and repeats retransmission of the packet until a reception confirmation packet for the packet is received. . Therefore, it cannot be applied to transmission of data that requires real-time transmission, such as images and sounds.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a data transmission device and a data transmission method for transmitting data in consideration of real-time performance while monitoring the reception status of a packet including a retransmission packet.

When receiving the
The retransmission / reception
The retransmission / reception
The transmitted retransmission /
The transmission-
FIG. 4 is a sequence diagram of data transmission according to the present embodiment. In order to perform data transmission with emphasis on real-time performance, the
The
As described above, in the data transmission device according to the present embodiment, the receiving unit reports the reception status of the retransmitted packet independently of the reception of the packet and the reception of the retransmitted packet. The reception status of the retransmission packet can be known. For this reason, the transmission unit can control the data transmission amount, the data output amount, and the like based on the reception status of the retransmission packet.
Further, the data transmission device according to the present embodiment operates in a method based on RTP. For this reason, the reception status of the retransmission packet can be reported from the reception unit to the transmission unit without impairing the real-time performance of data transmission of the RTP.
In the present embodiment, the packet reception status and the retransmission packet reception status are reported using different packets, but both may be reported simultaneously using one packet. For example, as shown in FIG. 5, a packet in which a field of the number of received retransmission packets RTN is added to a reception report packet defined in RTP may be used. As described above, the reception status of the retransmission packet can be easily reported only by adding the reception status of the retransmission packet to the reception report packet used for reporting the reception status of the packet.
The present invention has an effect that the transmission side can control data transmission using the reception status of the retransmission packet, and thus can be used for a data transmission device and a data transmission method for transmitting data in packet units. .
