【0005】
このような構成において、送信側においては、デジタル変調部12において、BPSK(Binariphase Phase Shift Keying)や、16QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation)等の変調方式に応じて、送信データによるデジタル変調が行われる。
【0006】

OFDMシンボルパターンPN2(+1、+1、+1、−1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP3(+1、−1、+1、0)に対応する。OFDMシンボルパターンPN3(+1、+1、−1、+1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP5(−1、+1、−1、0)に対応する。
【0125】
【0184】
図12に示す対応テーブルにおいては、OFDMシンボルパターンPN1(+1、+1、+1、+1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP1(+1、+1、+1、0)又はP2(+1、+1、−1、0)に対応する。OFDMシンボルパターンPN2(+1、+1、+1、−1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP3(+1、−1、+1、0)又はP4(+1、−1、−1、0)に対応する。OFDMシンボルパターンPN3(+1、+1、−1、+1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP5(−1、+1、+1、0)又はP6(−1、+1、−1、0)に対応する。
【0185】
【0193】
図13に示す対応テーブルにおいては、OFDMシンボルパターンPN1(+1、+1、+1、+1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP1(+1、+1、+1、0)又はP9(+1、+1、0、+1)に対応する。OFDMシンボルパターンPN2(+1、+1、+1、−1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP3(+1、−1、+1、0)又はP11(+1、−1、0、+1)に対応する。OFDMシンボルパターンPN3(+1、+1、−1、+1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP5(−1、+1、+1、0)又はP13(−1、+1、0、+1)に対応する。
【0194】
【0203】
図15に示す対応テーブルにおいては、OFDMシンボルパターンPN1(+1、+1、+1、+1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP101(+1、+1、0、+1、+1、0)に対応する。OFDMシンボルパターンPN2(+1、+1、+1、−1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP102(+1、+1、0、+1、−1、0)に対応する。OFDMシンボルパターンPN3(+1、+1、−1、+1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP103(+1、+1、0、−1、+1、0)に対応する。
【0204】
【0224】
図17に示す対応テーブルにおいては、OFDMシンボルパターンPN1(+1、+1、+1、+1、+1、+1、+1、+1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP101(+1、+1、+1、+1、+1、+1、0、0)に対応する。OFDMシンボルパターンPN2(+1、+1、+1、+1、+1+1、+1、−1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP102(+1、+1、+1、+1、+1、−1、0、0)に対応する。OFDMシンボルパターンPN3(+1、+1、+1、+1、+1、+1、−1、+1)は、OFDMシンボルパターンP103(+1、+1、+1、+1、−1、+1、0、0)に対応する。
【0225】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a multi-carrier communication apparatus to which an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple) system is applied and a peak power suppression method in the multi-carrier communication apparatus, and more particularly to a mobile station apparatus such as a mobile phone and a mobile video phone in a mobile communication system. The present invention also relates to a base station apparatus for communicating with the mobile station apparatus, a multi-carrier communication apparatus suitable for use as a transmission / reception apparatus for digital TV broadcasting and digital audio broadcasting, and a peak power suppressing method in the multi-carrier communication apparatus.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, as this type of multi-carrier communication apparatus and a method of suppressing peak power in the multi-carrier communication apparatus, there is a method described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 7-143098.
[0003]
FIG. 30 is a block diagram showing a configuration of a conventional multicarrier communication device.

[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the conventional device, since transmission data is converted into parallel data and then transmitted by being superimposed on a plurality of subcarriers, there is no correlation for each subcarrier, so that the phases of the subcarriers overlap. An OFDM symbol has an extremely large signal amplitude.
[0009]
As described above, when the peak voltage of a signal increases during transmission due to the overlapping of the subcarriers, when the signal is amplified by an amplifier, the peak portion of the signal is cut off according to the upper limit gain of the amplifier.
[0010]
In order to prevent this, if a large amplifier is used, there is a problem that the size of the entire device is increased, which leads to an increase in the size of the device, which further increases power consumption and heat generation.
[0011]
Here, as a method of suppressing the peak voltage, there is a method of setting an upper limit value of the voltage and simply cutting a voltage exceeding the upper limit value as described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 7-143098. However, merely cutting off the peak voltage distorts the signal and widens the band, so that there is a problem that the error rate during reception deteriorates (transmission characteristics deteriorate).
[0012]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and is a multicarrier communication apparatus capable of suppressing a peak voltage of a signal with a simple apparatus configuration without deteriorating transmission characteristics and without increasing the size of the apparatus. And a method for suppressing peak power in a multi-carrier communication apparatus.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
The inventor generates a signal including an amplitude “0” by sequentially performing a coding process on a signal to be transmitted in the multicarrier communication, and creates a subcarrier not to be transmitted. As a result, the peak amplitude of the entire signal is reduced. Focusing on this fact, it has been found that the peak voltage of the transmission signal in the multicarrier communication is suppressed by sequentially performing the encoding process on the signal to be transmitted, distributing the signal in the frequency domain and transmitting the signal.
[0097]
That is, the gist of the present invention is to convert a signal represented by a binary value into a signal represented by a ternary value and generate a signal having an amplitude of “0” in the subcarrier direction, thereby obtaining a signal of each subcarrier. The purpose of the present invention is to suppress the peak voltage of a transmission signal by reducing the possibility and the number of signal phases that overlap.
[0098]
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

In the present invention, r out of N subcarriers are selected and modulated, and the remaining (Nr) are transmitted with no amplitude (nothing is transmitted). The number of patterns for selecting r carriers from N subcarriers isNCrIs required.
[0117]
r gives a positive or negative value. In this case, one OFDM symbol isNCr・ 2rIt can be seen that the expression can be made as follows. In the conventional multicarrier communication, each subcarrier has only a positive or negative value, whereas in the multicarrier communication of the present invention, since each subcarrier can take 0, the signal space is large, that is, ,NCr・ 2r> 2NIt may be.
[0118]
Therefore,NCr・ 2r2 from the symbol with the lowest peak power among the street symbolsNThe peak power can be suppressed by selecting and mapping from the conventional OFDM symbol to the OFDM symbol of the present invention.
[0119]
Next, an example of OFDM symbol conversion will be described with reference to FIGS.
[0120]
Here, an example will be described in which a symbol pattern having a state of amplitude “0” is converted for one of the OFDM symbols composed of four subcarriers.
[0121]
FIG. 2 is a diagram illustrating an OFDM symbol pattern including four subcarriers in BPSK modulation. FIG. 3 is a diagram showing an OFDM symbol pattern in which one of the four subcarriers in the BPSK modulation has an amplitude of “0”.
[0122]
A conventional OFDM symbol pattern composed of four subcarriers is composed of 16 combinations as shown in FIG. Further, a new OFDM symbol pattern in which one subcarrier has the amplitude “0” is composed of 32 combinations as shown in FIG. By including the state of amplitude “0”, a new OFDM symbol pattern having a smaller peak power than the conventional OFDM symbol pattern and a new OFDM symbol pattern having a larger peak power than the conventional OFDM symbol pattern are created.
[0123]
FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating an example of a correspondence table between the symbol pattern before conversion and the symbol pattern after conversion in the
[0124]
In the correspondence table shown in FIG. 4, the OFDM symbol pattern PN1 (+ 1, + 1, + 1, + 1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P1 (+ 1, + 1, + 1,0). The OFDM symbol pattern PN2 (+1, +1, +1, -1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P3 (+1, -1, +1, 0). OFDM symbol pattern PN3 (+1, +1, -1, +1) corresponds to OFDM symbol pattern P5 (-1, +1, -1, 0).
[0125]
As described above, the
[0126]
On the other hand, the
[0127]
In the above mapping process, the average value of the peak power can be lowered by selecting 16 patterns from the smallest peak power in the new 32 OFDM symbol patterns and converting them from the conventional 16 OFDM symbol patterns.
[0128]
As described above, according to the multicarrier communication apparatus of the present embodiment, each OFDM symbol (first OFDM symbol group) that has been converted into parallel after digital modulation is output to the mapping unit, where the first OFDM symbol Of a plurality of subcarriers f1 to f4 that are superimposed during the inverse fast Fourier transform, the OFDM symbol space superimposed on a predetermined number of subcarriers is set to 0 to expand the OFDM symbol space. The same number of OFDM symbols as the number of the first OFDM symbol group are selected in order from the one with the smallest power, the first OFDM symbol group is associated with the selected OFDM symbol, and the selected OFDM symbol associated with this is selected. And the transmitting apparatus is configured to perform inverse fast Fourier transform on the selected OFDM symbol.
[0129]
That is, by setting some of the subcarriers f1 to f4 to have an amplitude of 0, the number of OFDM symbol patterns increases, that is, the signal space increases. If only the selected symbol is used for transmission, a symbol pattern having a large peak power is not used. As a result, the signal peak voltage can be reduced with a simple device configuration without deteriorating the transmission characteristics and increasing the size of the device. Can be suppressed.
[0130]
In addition, the receiving apparatus performs fast Fourier transform on the received OFDM symbol subjected to the inverse fast Fourier transform from the transmitting apparatus, and converts each OFDM symbol obtained by this transform by the demapping unit to the first OFDM symbol equal to the selected OFDM symbol in the transmitting apparatus. One pattern data is collated, and the OFDM symbol that matches the collation result is associated with the second pattern data equal to the first OFDM symbol group in the transmitting means, and the OFDM symbol obtained by this association is converted into serial data. The serial data is converted and demodulated. This makes it possible to properly demodulate the OFDM symbol from the transmitting device.
[0131]
Next, another example of the mapping according to the present invention will be described. Here, an operation of mapping a pre-conversion OFDM symbol including five subcarriers to a post-conversion OFDM symbol including four subcarriers will be described.
[0132]
FIG. 5 shows a combination of pre-conversion OFDM symbol patterns including five subcarriers. This pre-conversion OFDM symbol pattern consists of 32 combinations.
[0133]
As described above, FIG. 3 shows a combination of converted OFDM symbols when one of the four subcarriers can have a value of amplitude “0”. This OFDM symbol consists of 32 combinations. Therefore, 32 patterns of the OFDM before conversion having 5 subcarriers can correspond to 32 patterns of the OFDM after conversion on a one-to-one basis.
[0134]
That is, as shown in FIG. 6, the pre-conversion OFDM symbol pattern (+1, +1, +1, +1, +1) corresponds to the post-conversion OFDM symbol pattern (+1, +1, +1, 0). The pre-conversion OFDM symbol pattern (+1, +1, +1, +1, -1) corresponds to the post-conversion OFDM symbol pattern (+1, +1, -1, 0). The pre-conversion OFDM symbol pattern (+ 1, + 1, + 1, -1, + 1) corresponds to the post-conversion OFDM symbol pattern (+ 1, -1, + 1,0). Similarly, the 32 pre-conversion OFDM symbol patterns correspond to the 32 post-conversion OFDM symbol patterns on a one-to-one basis.
[0135]
The
[0136]
On the other hand, when the converted OFDM symbol composed of four subcarriers is de-mapped to the pre-conversion OFDM symbol composed of five subcarriers, the
[0137]
According to such a mapping method, by using a symbol pattern including the amplitude “0” in the subcarrier, the peak power is suppressed and the number of symbol patterns per OFDM increases, that is, the signal space increases. , The amount of data per OFDM can be increased, and high-speed transmission can be performed.
[0138]
As described above, according to the multicarrier communication apparatus of the present embodiment, some of the subcarriers have an amplitude of 0 and the pattern of symbol data increases, that is, the symbol data space increases. No symbol pattern is used. As a result, the peak voltage of the signal can be suppressed with a simple device configuration without deteriorating the transmission characteristics and without increasing the size of the device.
[0139]
Further, according to the multicarrier communication apparatus of the present embodiment, transmission is performed in the first symbol sequence including the first symbol in which the amplitude of at least one of the in-phase component and the quadrature component is set to 0. Can perform multicarrier communication.
[0140]
Further, according to the multicarrier communication apparatus of the present embodiment, the first and second symbol patterns can be easily collated, and demapping can be performed efficiently. Thereby, it is possible to appropriately demodulate the symbol data of the transmitted multicarrier signal.

[0173]
That is, the reception level of the symbol pattern of the subcarrier f1 is “1.1” and is larger than the threshold value “1 /”, so that the symbol pattern is determined to be “+1”. The reception level of the symbol pattern of the subcarrier f2 is “−0.8”, which is smaller than the threshold “−−1”, so that the symbol pattern is determined to be “−1”. The reception level of the symbol pattern of the subcarrier f3 is “0.1”, which is smaller than the threshold “1/3” and larger than the threshold “−」 ”. Therefore, the symbol pattern is determined to be“ 0 ”. You. The reception level of the symbol pattern of the subcarrier f4 is “−0.4”, which is smaller than the threshold “− /”, so that the symbol pattern is determined to be “−1”. Thus, the symbol pattern is determined.
[0174]
As described above, by providing two thresholds and hard-deciding a symbol of a symbol pattern based on a reception level, a digital signal having three values can be determined. This makes it possible to accurately determine a new ternary symbol pattern.
[0175]
As described above, according to the multicarrier communication apparatus of the present embodiment, it is possible to accurately determine a symbol pattern including a symbol having an amplitude of 0.
[0176]
Next, another example of the symbol pattern determination operation in
[0177]
In this determination, the transmitting apparatus notifies the symbol pattern information of how many amplitudes “0” are included in the symbol pattern. In accordance with the symbol pattern information, the
[0178]
Specifically, as shown in FIG. 11, when a symbol pattern of one subcarrier takes a value of “0” among symbol patterns composed of four subcarriers, that is, “0” value is used as symbol pattern information. When a control signal indicating that there is only one symbol is transmitted from the transmission-side device, f3 having the smallest absolute value of the reception level is determined to be “0”.
[0179]
Since there is one symbol pattern with a value of “0”, the symbols of the remaining subcarriers can be determined by the sign of the reception level. Accordingly, it can be determined that f1 is “+1”, f2 is “−1”, and f4 is “−1”. As described above, two-stage determination, that is, the amplitude determination is performed for the known “0” symbol, and the polarity determination is performed for the other symbols to determine the symbol pattern. Here, the amplitude determination refers to determining the absolute value and polarity of the symbol, and here refers to determining “+1”, “0”, and “−1”. The polarity determination simply means determining the polarity.
[0180]
Similarly, when m of the symbols composed of n subcarriers take a value of “0”, the absolute values of the reception levels are compared, and the M symbols with the smallest value are determined to be “0”. , And the remaining nm symbols are determined as “+1” or “−1” depending on the sign of the reception level. Thus, the symbol pattern is determined.
[0181]
As described above, according to the multicarrier communication apparatus of the present embodiment, it is possible to accurately determine a symbol pattern including a symbol having an amplitude of 0 in the first determination, and to perform determination of other symbols only by polarity determination. Therefore, the symbol pattern can be determined more accurately.
[0182]
(Embodiment 5)
In the present embodiment, a case will be described in which a plurality of OFDM symbol patterns are associated with a conventional OFDM cymbal pattern.
[0183]

[0184]
In the correspondence table shown in FIG. 12, the OFDM symbol pattern PN1 (+ 1, + 1, + 1, + 1) is replaced with the OFDM symbol pattern P1 (+ 1, + 1, + 1,0) or P2 (+ 1, + 1, -1,0). Corresponding. The OFDM symbol pattern PN2 (+1, +1, +1, -1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P3 (+1, -1, +1, 0) or P4 (+1, -1, -1, 0). The OFDM symbol pattern PN3 (+1, +1, -1, +1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P5 (-1, +1, +1, 0) or P6 (-1, +1, -1, 0).

As described above, the

On the other hand, the
[0187]
For example, in the symbol pattern P1 (+ 1, + 1, + 1,0) obtained by converting the symbol pattern PN1 (+ 1, + 1, + 1, + 1), the subcarrier f3 is affected by fading or the like, and the symbol becomes P2 (+ 1, + 1, + 1). When it changes to (-1, 0), the symbol P2 (+1, +1, -1, 0) changed on the receiving side is converted into a symbol pattern PN1 (+1, +1, +1, +1) and received as a correct symbol pattern. be able to.
[0188]
As described above, according to the multicarrier communication apparatus of the present invention, when an error occurs in a transmitted symbol due to fading or the like, a correct symbol is received by receiving the symbol as one of a plurality of symbols corresponding to transmitted data. Can be received.
[0189]
A plurality of OFDM symbol patterns associated with the conventional OFDM symbol pattern can be associated with a pattern in which the Euclidean distance between the symbols is shorter than other OFDM symbol patterns.
[0190]
In this case, by associating symbol patterns having a shorter Euclidean distance with one conventional OFDM pattern, even if a symbol changes due to a path such as fading, it can be distinguished from other symbols.
[0191]
(Embodiment 6)
In the present embodiment, a case will be described in which a plurality of OFDM symbol patterns are associated with a conventional OFDM cymbal pattern, and the corresponding plurality of OFDM symbol patterns are transmitted alternately.
[0192]
FIG. 13 is a diagram illustrating an example of a correspondence table between the symbol pattern before conversion and the symbol pattern after conversion in the
[0193]
In the correspondence table shown in FIG. 13, the OFDM symbol pattern PN1 (+ 1, + 1, + 1, + 1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P1 (+ 1, + 1, + 1,0) or P9 (+ 1, + 1,0, + 1). I do. The OFDM symbol pattern PN2 (+1, +1, +1, -1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P3 (+1, -1, +1, 0) or P11 (+1, -1, 0, +1). The OFDM symbol pattern PN3 (+ 1, + 1, -1, + 1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P5 (-1, + 1, + 1,0) or P13 (-1, + 1,0, + 1).

As described above, the conventional 16 OFDM symbol patterns are converted to 16 of the new 32 OFDM symbol patterns and transmitted, and the received symbols are converted from the 32 OFDM symbol patterns to the 16 conventional OFDM symbol patterns. After transmitting any one of the symbol patterns P1, P3, P5, P7,..., P31, then transmitting any one of the symbol patterns P2, P4, P6, P8,. , P3, P5, P7,..., P31.
[0197]
As described above, according to the multicarrier communication apparatus of the present embodiment, by transmitting the symbols in which the positions of the subcarriers whose amplitudes are “0” are alternately associated with each other, it is possible to perform the transmission between successively transmitted patterns. Since the position of the “0” subcarrier changes, interference between symbols can be reduced.
[0198]
The method of selecting a symbol pattern to be transmitted among a plurality of symbol patterns corresponding to the conventional OFDM symbol pattern is not limited to the above method.
[0199]
For example, a symbol pattern may be selected by a random number from a plurality of symbol patterns corresponding to the conventional OFDM symbol pattern and transmitted.
[0200]
(Embodiment 7)
In the present embodiment, a case will be described in which a plurality of subcarriers of amplitude “0” are combined and used as one pattern.

FIG. 14 is a diagram showing a new OFDM symbol pattern.
This OFDM symbol pattern composed of six subcarriers is composed of 64 symbol patterns, and FIG. 14 shows 16 symbol patterns out of 64 symbol patterns. This symbol pattern includes a symbol pattern in which two subcarriers each having the amplitude “0” are paired.

FIG. 15 is a diagram illustrating an example of a correspondence table between the pre-conversion symbol pattern and the post-conversion symbol pattern in the
[0203]
In the correspondence table shown in FIG. 15, the OFDM symbol pattern PN1 (+1, +1, +1, +1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P101 (+1, +1, 0, +1, +1, 0). The OFDM symbol pattern PN2 (+1, +1, +1, -1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P102 (+1, +1, 0, +1, -1, 0). The OFDM symbol pattern PN3 (+1, +1, -1, +1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P103 (+1, +1, 0, -1, +1, 0).
[0204]
These OFDM symbol patterns have a set of two subcarriers whose amplitude is “0”. For example, a symbol pattern whose amplitude value of subcarriers f1 and f4 is "0", a symbol pattern whose amplitude value of subcarriers f2 and f5 is "0", and a symbol pattern whose amplitude value of subcarriers f3 and f6 is "0" Symbol patterns are possible.

[0208]
For example, the symbol pattern P101 (+1, +1, 0, +1, +1, 0) is transmitted, the value of a part of the subcarrier changes due to the influence of the path, and (+1, +1, 0, 0, (+1, 0), the combination of subcarriers whose amplitude is determined to be “0” is compared.
[0209]
The combination of subcarriers f1 and f4 is a value of “+1” and “0”, the combination of subcarriers f3 and f6 is a value of “0” and “0”, and the multi-carrier communication apparatus The most appropriate symbol pattern among the symbol patterns in which the combination of f3 and f6 is amplitude “0” is determined to be the received symbol pattern.
[0210]
As described above, according to the multicarrier communication apparatus of the present embodiment, by combining a plurality of subcarriers of amplitude “0” and using them as one pattern, the signal changes under the influence of a path such as fading. Even in this case, communication with less errors can be performed by judging from the positions of a plurality of subcarriers whose amplitudes are “0”.
[0211]
[0212]
(Embodiment 8)
In the present embodiment, a case will be described in which the Euclidean distance between patterns is increased depending on the position of a subcarrier having an amplitude of “0”.
[0213]
The Euclidean distance is a criterion for determining a symbol pattern in multicarrier communication. The Euclidean distance between a symbol whose amplitude is “+1” and a symbol whose amplitude is “−1” in a certain subcarrier is 2.
[0214]
In contrast, the Euclidean distance between a symbol having an amplitude of “0” and a symbol having an amplitude of “+1” is 1, and the Euclidean distance between a symbol having an amplitude of “0” and a symbol having an amplitude of “−1” is 1. Therefore, when a symbol pattern including the amplitude “0” is used, the Euclidean distance between the symbols becomes small, so that it becomes difficult to discriminate the signal and the transmission characteristics deteriorate.
[0215]
Therefore, the transmission characteristics are improved by using only the symbol pattern having the Euclidean distance of at least 2 or more.
[0216]
FIG. 16 is a diagram showing an example in which two symbols of amplitude “0” are arranged on eight subcarriers according to Embodiment 8 of the present invention.
In FIG. 16, “0” indicates the amplitude “0”, and “×” indicates the amplitude “+1” or “−1”.

[0224]
In the correspondence table shown in FIG. 17, the OFDM symbol pattern PN1 (+1, +1, +1, +1, +1, +1, +1, +1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P101 (+1, +1, +1, +1, +1, +1, +0). , 0). The OFDM symbol pattern PN2 (+ 1, + 1, + 1, + 1, + 1 + 1, + 1, -1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P102 (+ 1, + 1, + 1, + 1, + 1, -1,0,0). The OFDM symbol pattern PN3 (+ 1, + 1, + 1, + 1, + 1, + 1, -1, + 1) corresponds to the OFDM symbol pattern P103 (+ 1, + 1, + 1, + 1, -1, + 1,0,0).

As described above, according to the multicarrier communication apparatus of the present embodiment, the conventional OFDM symbol pattern 256 pattern is converted to a new OFDM symbol pattern 256 pattern and transmitted, and the received symbol is converted from the OFDM symbol pattern 256 pattern to the conventional OFDM symbol pattern. The symbol pattern is converted into an OFDM symbol pattern 256 pattern and any one of P101, P102, P103, P104, and P356 is transmitted.
[0228]
As described above, according to the multicarrier communication apparatus of the present invention, symbol patterns having Euclidean distances equal to or longer than a predetermined distance are associated with different conventional data patterns, so that symbols change due to the influence of paths such as fading. Can also be distinguished from other symbols.

[0340]
As described above, according to the multicarrier communication apparatus of the present embodiment, a symbol pattern having a large peak power is not used by performing spreading processing on a symbol converted into a symbol
[0341]
In addition, the multicarrier communication apparatus according to the present embodiment can perform rearrangement of transmission signals on a chip-by-chip basis in the order of subcarriers and transmission time.

FIG. 29A illustrates a symbol pattern including an amplitude “0” obtained by performing a mapping process on a digitally modulated symbol pattern.

FIG. 29B is a symbol pattern obtained by performing time domain spreading on the symbol pattern shown in FIG. 29A. FIG. 29C shows a symbol pattern obtained by performing frequency domain spreading on the symbol pattern shown in FIG. 29A.
[0344]
The multicarrier communication apparatus according to
FIG. 29-E shows a symbol pattern subjected to the interleaving.
[0345]
In this way, by performing interleaving on a chip basis in two dimensions of the time axis and the carrier frequency axis, symbols can be dispersed on the time axis and the frequency axis in chip units, so that burst errors and frequency selective fading can be achieved. Strong communication can be performed.
[0346]
In the first to fourteenth embodiments, a case is described in which values “+1” and “−1” obtained by performing BPSK modulation on data are converted into three values “+1”, “−1” and “0”. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and performs QPSK modulation or the like on the data, and converts one of or both of the in-phase component and the quadrature component into “+1” and “−1” as “+1”, “−1”, It is also possible to convert to a ternary value of “0”.
[0347]
For example, mapping is performed such that the signal point arrangement of the normal QPSK modulation as shown in FIG. 20A is changed to the signal point arrangement of the QPSK modulation as shown in FIG. In this case, the determination in the case of BPSK modulation is performed for each of the in-phase component and the quadrature component. That is, for each of the in-phase component and the quadrature component of each subcarrier component, ternary determination of the amplitude is performed, or the required number of amplitudes is determined to be 0, and the remaining portions are determined to be polarities. As a result, as in the case of BPSK modulation, the number of symbol patterns per OFDM increases, that is, the signal space increases, so that the peak power can be reduced by using a pattern with a small peak power, High-speed transmission can also be performed by increasing the amount of data per OFDM.
[0348]
In addition, the present invention is not limited to this, and performs 16QAM or the like on the data, and sets three values of “+3”, “+1”, “−1”, and “−3” for one or both of the in-phase component and the quadrature component to “ It is also possible to convert into five values of +3, "+1", "-1", "-3", and "0".
[0349]
For example, the mapping is performed so that the signal point arrangement of the normal 16QAM as shown in FIG. 21A is changed to the signal point arrangement of 16QAM as shown in FIG. 21B. In this case, in each of the in-phase component and the quadrature component of each subcarrier component, the required number of amplitudes is determined to be 0, and the rest are determined to be quaternary in amplitude. As a result, as in the case of BPSK modulation, the number of symbol patterns per OFDM increases, that is, the signal space increases, so that the data amount per OFDM can be increased and high-speed transmission can be performed.
[0350]
In the first to fourteenth embodiments, the case where each subcarrier component is determined one by one by amplitude determination is described. However, in the present invention, the entire symbol pattern (for example, 4 The present invention can also be applied to the case where the determination is made using the symbol pattern of a carrier (the components of all four subcarriers).
[0351]
For example, channel estimation is performed using a known signal such as a pilot symbol, and the obtained channel estimation value is multiplied by each symbol pattern to generate a replica signal of the received symbol pattern. Then, the replica signal is compared with the received symbol pattern, and the most similar replica signal is determined as the transmitted symbol pattern. The determination as to whether or not it is the closest is made by comparing the replica signal with the received symbol pattern for each subcarrier component to obtain a difference, and determining the symbol pattern corresponding to the replica signal having the smallest cumulative difference in the transmitted symbol pattern. And the like.
[0352]
In this case, the symbol patterns can be determined collectively, and a more accurate symbol pattern can be determined.
[0353]
In the above first to fourteenth embodiments, the case where the transmitting device and the receiving device are installed in the same device is described. However, in the present invention, the transmitting device has the mapping unit according to the present invention. If the multi-carrier communication apparatus is installed and the multi-carrier communication apparatus having the demapping unit according to the present invention is installed in the receiving apparatus, the transmitting apparatus and the receiving apparatus are installed in the same apparatus. You don't have to.
