Y=−R×(SA/Ra+SB/Rb+SC/Rc+SD/Rd)
【0080】
Y=−R/RX×(SA+SB+SC+SD)
即ち、このリーダ/ライタは、ループコイル51に代えて、1次側ループコイルL1(L1は、1次側ループコイルL1のインダクタンスも表す)、2次側ループコイルL2(L2は、2次側ループコイルL2のインダクタンスも表す)、およびコンデンサC(Cは、コンデンサCのキャパシタンスも表す)が設けられている他は、図14のリーダ/ライタと同様に構成されている。
ωL2=1/(ωC)
ω2L2C=1 ・・・(2)
M=L2×n1/n2 ・・・(4)
【0134】
I2=−V/(jωL2)×n2/n1 ・・・(5)
【0135】
I=V/(jωL2) ・・・(6)
【0136】

[Industrial applications]
The present invention relates to an IC card reader / writer that performs non-contact communication with an IC card used as a commuter pass in an automatic ticket gate system, for example.
[0002]
[Prior art]
At present, for example, commuter passes used in automatic ticket gate systems and the like have magnetically recorded information. In an automatic ticket gate, when a commuter pass is inserted, a magnetic field is recorded in the magnetically recorded portion. The information is read by contacting the head.
[0003]
For this reason, when the commuter pass is stored in the case, the user needs to take it out of the case and insert it into the automatic ticket gate, which is troublesome.
[0004]
Therefore, the present applicant has previously proposed a contactless card system. According to this contactless card system, information exchange (data communication) can be performed without contact. If this is applied to the above-mentioned automatic ticket gate system, the user must pay It is possible to get in and out of the automatic ticket gate even when the is stored in the case.
[0005]
FIG. 13 shows an example of the configuration of a contactless card system proposed by the present applicant earlier. This contactless card system supplies, for example, an IC card corresponding to the above-mentioned commuter pass, and a power supply to the IC card in a non-contact manner using electromagnetic waves as a medium, as well as reading and writing of data and other necessary data. And a reader / writer that performs various processes.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in the contactless card system as described above, it is desired to extend the communication distance between the IC card and the reader / writer. In order to increase the communication distance, for example, it is conceivable to increase the strength of the magnetic field generated from the

[0035]
The present invention has been made in view of such a situation, and by improving the strength of a magnetic field generated by a reader / writer under a predetermined power supply voltage, the communication distance between an IC card and the reader / writer is improved. In addition, when the IC card and the reader / writer approach each other, it is possible to reduce (prevent) a decrease in the intensity of the magnetic field generated by the reader / writer.
[0036]

A first IC card reader / writer of the present invention is a IC card reader / writer that performs communication with an IC card in a non-contact manner by generating a magnetic field,Consists of multiple identically-shaped coils arranged on the same planeA plurality of loop antennas (for example, loop coils 3a to 3d shown in FIG. 1, loop coils 3a to 3d and

The present inventionofFor IC card reader / writer,A voltage is applied to a plurality of loop antennas composed of a plurality of coils of the same shape arranged on the same plane. Each of the plurality of loop antennas includes a primary coil to which a voltage is applied, a secondary coil that causes mutual induction with the primary coil, and a capacitor connected to the secondary coil. The loop coils 3a to 3d are coils having the same shape (here, the number of turns is also the same), and are arranged on the same plane so as to divide a predetermined rectangle into two in the vertical and horizontal directions. A reader / writer antenna (loop antenna) is formed. That is, for example, as shown in FIG. 2, the loop coils 3a to 3d each have a vertical (horizontal) portion which is a cross section of a conventional loop coil 51 (FIGS. 13 and 14) (indicated by a dotted line in FIG. 2). In FIG. 7, the case where the parallel resonance circuit is formed by the loop coils 3a to 3d has been described. However, the adjustment of the resonance frequency is similarly performed when the series resonance circuit is formed by the loop coils 3a to 3d. Can be done only once.

[0117]
Further, the plurality of loop coils can be arranged so that the length or width of the rectangle is divided into three or more. That is, the plurality of loop coils are arranged so as to divide the length of the rectangle into two and divide the width into three as shown in FIG. 9B, for example, or as shown in FIG. 9C. As shown in the figure, it is possible to arrange the rectangle so that the height is equally divided into three and the width is equally divided into two. Further, as shown in FIG. 9D, for example, the plurality of loop coils can be arranged so that both the vertical and horizontal sides of the rectangle are equally divided into three. Further, as shown in FIGS. 9E and 9F, for example, the plurality of loop coils are arranged so that one of the vertical and horizontal sides of the rectangle is bisected (or more). Is also possible.
[0118]
As shown in FIG. 9G, the plurality of loop coils are arranged as eight triangular coils obtained by dividing a predetermined rectangle by two diagonal lines and a line bisecting the vertical and horizontal directions. It is possible.
[0119]
Further, the plurality of loop coils can be arranged so that a predetermined circle is equally divided by a line segment passing through the center. That is, for example, as shown in FIG. 9H, the plurality of loop coils can be arranged as four fan-shaped coils obtained by dividing a circle into four equal parts by a line passing through the center.
[0120]
In addition, the plurality of loop coils may be arranged as a coil that equally divides a regular polygon or an arbitrary polygon by, for example, a line segment passing through the center of gravity.
[0121]
Further, in the above-described case, the shapes of the plurality of loop coils are set to be the same, but the shapes of the plurality of loop coils need not be the same. However, when the shapes of the plurality of loop coils are not the same (for example, when the loop coils adjacent to the loop coil viewed from each loop coil are not the same as shown in FIGS. 9B to 9D). In the same case, the effect of each loop coil from other loop coils is different, so that the design becomes difficult. Therefore, it is preferable that the shapes of the plurality of loop coils be the same (as viewed from each loop coil, Preferably, the loop coil adjacent to the loop coil is the same).
[0122]
Next, FIG. 10 shows the configuration of an eighth embodiment of a reader / writer for an IC card according to the present invention. In the figure, parts corresponding to those in FIG. 14 are denoted by the same reference numerals. In other words, this reader / writer replaces the
[0123]
The terminal of the primary side loop coil L1 is connected to the output terminal of the
[0124]
In FIG. 10, the primary side loop coil L1 and the secondary side loop coil L2 are formed in a rectangular shape, but the shapes are not limited to a rectangular shape. Shape and others may be sufficient.
[0125]
The primary side loop coil L1 and the secondary side loop coil L2 are arranged so that their cross sections are opposed to each other or coincide with each other. That is, in FIG. 10, for example, the primary loop coil L1 is formed as a pattern (print pattern) on a printed circuit board, and the secondary loop coil L2 is formed with the primary loop coil L1. The pattern is formed on the same surface as the surface or on the surface opposite to the surface.
[0126]
Therefore, the primary loop coil L1 and the secondary loop coil L2 are magnetically tightly coupled to form a transformer.
[0127]
FIG. 11 shows an equivalent circuit of the reader / writer of FIG. As shown in the figure, when the current I1 flows through the primary-side loop coil L1, the winding direction of the primary-side loop coil L1 and the secondary-side loop coil L2 is changed by the mutual induction. The current I2 flows through the coil L2.
[0128]
Now, let M be the mutual inductance of the primary-side loop coil L1 and the secondary-side loop coil L2, and let V be the voltage between the terminals of the primary-side coil L1, that is, the output voltage of the
[0129]
Here, j is an imaginary unit (√ (−1)). Ω is the angular frequency of the carrier, and the resonance angular frequency of the resonance circuit including the secondary loop coil L2 and the capacitor C is set to a value equal to ω.
[0130]
Here, considering the resonance condition of the resonance circuit including the secondary loop coil L2 and the capacitor C, the resonance circuit resonates when the inductive reactance and the capacitive reactance cancel each other.
ωL2 = 1 / (ωC)
That is, the expression
ω2L2C = 1 (2)
Is satisfied.
[0131]
From the equations (1) and (2), the current I1 or I2 flowing through the primary loop coil L1 or the secondary loop coil L2 at the time of resonance is as follows.
[0132]
From the equation (3), at the time of resonance, no current flows through the primary side loop coil L1, and current flows only through the secondary side loop coil L2.
[0133]
By the way, as described above, when the primary side loop coil L1 and the secondary side loop coil L2 are tightly coupled, their mutual inductance M is expressed by the following equation.
M = L2 × n1 / n2 (4)
[0134]
Therefore, when the equation (4) is substituted into the equation (3) and the current I2 flowing through the secondary side loop coil L2 at the time of resonance is obtained, it becomes as shown by the following equation.
I2 = −V / (jωL2) × n2 / n1 (5)
[0135]
On the other hand, considering the current I flowing when the secondary loop coil L2 is directly connected to the
I = V / (jωL2) (6)
[0136]
From the expressions (5) and (6), in the case shown in FIG. 10 (FIG. 11), the secondary side loop coil L2 has a secondary side loop coil L2 as compared with a case where it is directly connected to the
[0137]
Since the intensity of the magnetic field generated from the loop coil is proportional to the current flowing therethrough, in the case shown in FIG. 10 (FIG. 11), when the secondary loop coil L2 is directly connected to the
[0138]
As described above, the transformer is constituted by the primary-side loop coil L1 and the secondary-side loop coil L2, and the capacitor C is connected to the secondary-side loop coil L2 to constitute the resonance circuit. It is possible to generate a magnetic field having a strength that is n2 / n1 times the turn ratio between the coil L2 and the primary side loop coil L1. As a result, the communication distance with the IC card can be extended.
[0139]
Further, in this case, since no current flows through the primary side loop coil L1, the load on the
[0140]
In the above description, the number of turns n1 of the primary side loop coil L1 is set to 2 and the number of turns n2 of the secondary side loop coil L2 is set to 4. However, the number of turns n1 of the primary side loop coil L1 and the number of turns of the secondary side loop are set. The number of turns n2 of the coil L2 is not limited to this. However, in order to improve the intensity of the generated magnetic field, the number of turns n2 of the secondary side loop coil L2 needs to be larger than the number of turns n1 of the primary side loop coil L1.
[0141]
Further, in the equivalent circuit shown in FIG. 11, for example, since the primary loop coil L1 and the secondary loop coil L2 and the loss of the capacitor C are not taken into account, the equations (1) to (6) are , Does not exactly match the actual case, but the difference is insignificant and can therefore be considered to be almost the same as the actual case
.
[0142]
Next, FIG. 12 shows a case where a portion for demodulating data from an IC card is added to the reader / writer of FIG. 10 (FIG. 11). In the figure, the same reference numerals are given to portions corresponding to those in FIG. 8 or FIG. 10 (FIG. 11).
[0143]
In this reader / writer, the

That is, as in the case described with reference to FIG. 14, when there is a response from the IC card, the voltage (amplitude and phase of the carrier) between any of the terminals of the primary loop coil L1 and the secondary loop coil L2. Therefore, by detecting and demodulating this, data from the IC card can be obtained.
[0145]
In this case, the voltage between any one of the primary side loop coil L1 and the secondary side loop coil L2 may be detected and demodulated. However, as shown in equations (3) and (5), No current flows through the primary-side loop coil L1 (however, in practice, a small amount of current flows), and the secondary-side loop coil L2 has an n2 / n1 times that when the coil is directly connected to the
[0146]
Therefore, when there is a response from the IC card, the change in the voltage between the terminals of the primary side loop coil L1 and the secondary side loop coil L2 is larger in the secondary side loop coil L2. Performing demodulation according to the voltage between the terminals of the coil L2 can perform more error-free demodulation as compared with the case where the voltage between the terminals of the primary side loop coil L1 is used.
[0147]
Thus, in the case shown in FIG. 12, as described above, demodulation of data from the IC card is performed in accordance with the voltage at the connection point between the secondary loop coil L2 and the capacitor C.
[0148]
