Description
【0001】

余熱LED122:OFF
余熱LED122:ON
余熱LED122:OFF
余熱LED122:ON
余熱LED122:OFF
余熱LED122:OFF

[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in a copier system, a facsimile machine, and the like, control has been performed to reduce power consumption during standby compared to normal operation. For example, in a facsimile apparatus, as disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 57-168573, a system control unit (control circuit) is composed of a master CPU and a slave CPU. Only the main CPU is operated to monitor the state of the system, and when a predetermined main power-on factor is detected, the slave CPU performs the main power-on operation, and after the main power is supplied, the slave CPU is connected to the master CPU. The power consumption in the standby mode is reduced by operating in accordance with a command from the master CPU.
[0003]
In a conventional copier system, the following control is performed to reduce power consumption. First, the system configuration will be explained. When the facsimile function and printer function are extended to a complex digital copying machine, the main controller, which is the main control unit of the digital copying machine, has various functions such as facsimile function and printer function. The dedicated sub controller is connected.
[0004]
In such a general copying machine, in order to reduce the power consumption, the set temperature of the fixing heater which consumes the most power is different between the copying time (normal mode) and the standby time (remaining heat mode). Two types of temperatures (copier temperature> standby temperature) can be set, and power consumption is suppressed by controlling the copier at the above-mentioned stand-by temperature by pressing the residual heat key.
[0005]
Therefore, even in the power saving control of the copier system in which the sub controller to be extended is connected to the main controller to extend the function, the press of the residual heat key provided in the operation unit is detected. , The mode is shifted to the residual heat mode based on the pressing signal.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, when a sub-controller is connected as in the conventional copier system as described above, power saving control is not performed according to the connection status and the function of the sub-controller. There is a problem that optimal power saving control is not executed.
[0007]
In addition, since the main controller performs the power saving control such as the residual heat mode collectively regardless of the function expansion of the system, there is a problem that the load on the main controller increases when the system is expanded.
[0008]
Furthermore, when power saving control is performed by the main controller and the sub-controller, that is, when different power saving controls are executed depending on the system configuration, the display and operation related to power saving may differ between the main controller and the sub-controller. In addition, since the display positions and the operation positions are dispersed, the operator feels a sense of incongruity, so that the operability is reduced.
[0009]
The present invention has been made in view of the above, and even when the optimum power saving control mode of the entire system differs depending on the connection state of the sub-controller and its function, the optimum power saving control of the entire system is performed. A first object is to realize a mode and reduce power.
[0010]
It is a second object of the present invention to reduce the load on the main controller by transferring the initiative of power saving control when the sub-controller is connected from the main controller to the sub-controller.
[0011]
Further, a third object is to unify displays and operations related to power saving when performing different power saving controls by connecting the sub-controllers, thereby simplifying the operations and improving operability.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, in the copying machine system according to the present invention, an option control means for executing control according to an optional function is connected to the main control means, so that the option control means can be controlled. Means for detecting the connection state and function of the option control means, and detecting that the option control means has been connected to the main control means, When the control of the power control signal is transferred to the option control means by means for transferring control of the power control signal to the option control means and means for transferring control of the power control signal to the option control means, the entire system Means for detecting the connection state and function of the option control means. A power control means for controlling to execute the power saving control according to the function of said detected optional control unit Te and has a.
[0013]
That is, by selecting the power saving control mode based on the connection state of the option control means and the functions of the option control means, optimal power saving control is executed according to the system configuration status. When the option control means is connected, the main control means shifts the control of a power control signal for turning on and off a main switch for supplying power to the main control means to the option control means, thereby achieving a power saving control specification. Can be secured, and the power saving control mode of the entire system when the optional control means is added can be selected. Further, the load on the main control means when the option control means is connected is reduced.
[0016]
Further, in the copier system according to
[0017]
That is, by sharing the display related to the power saving control state with the main control unit and the option control unit, a uniform status display can be performed regardless of the control unit that is performing the display control.
[0018]
Further, in the copying machine system according to the third aspect , the main control means and the option control means share an input related to power saving control and execute a power saving control mode corresponding to the input. .
[0019]
That is, by sharing the input related to the power saving control with the main control unit and the option control unit, a unified operation can be performed regardless of the power saving control mode, and the operation burden on the operator can be reduced.
[0020]
In the copying machine system according to the fourth aspect , the main control means shifts the power control mode based on an input set by an operator.
[0021]
That is, by setting the transition stage of the power saving control mode based on the input of the operator, a system corresponding to the usage environment of the operator regarding the power saving control is constructed.
[0022]

[0065]
Then, the mode transition is executed based on the setting of the operator. This is because, in an environment where copying or facsimile is used relatively frequently, when the mode shifts to the power saving mode 203 or the residual heat power saving mode 303, power supply to each controller is stopped. Since the processing time for the conversion is required, the time until the system can be used is longer than that in the

In the above embodiment, the case where a facsimile function is performed by connecting a facsimile control unit (FCU) as the sub-controller 102 has been described as an example. However, other functions can be applied. For example, when a printer function is connected, the present invention can be applied as follows.
[0067]
(1) Online printer In the case of an online printer, the operation is basically the same as when an application is not connected. However, since it is assumed that the position of the operator and the main body are apart, idle detection for a certain period of time is performed. In addition, the power saving mode 203 is set instead of the night

First, in a copier system in which the function is expanded by adding the sub-controller 102, the power-saving control mode is selected according to the connection status of the sub-controller 102 and the function of the sub-controller 102. Optimal power saving control can be performed according to the situation.
[0074]
Second, when the sub-controller 102 is connected, the power-saving control is shifted to the sub-controller 102, thereby ensuring expandability with respect to the power-saving control specification. A choice of power control method can be made. Therefore, the load on the

Fifth, by setting the transition stage of the power saving mode based on the operator input, it is possible to realize a system corresponding to the usage environment of the operator regarding the power saving control.
[0078]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the copying machine system of the present invention (claim 1), the power saving control mode is selected based on the connection state of the option control means and the function of the connected option control means. Optimal power saving control according to the system configuration status can be executed. Further, in order to migrate when optional control means is connected, a main switch for supplying power to the main control unit on and off control for the power supply control signal to the optional control unit, scalability with respect to the power-saving control specification And the power saving control mode of the entire system when the optional control means is added can be selected. Further, the load on the main control means when the optional control means is connected can be reduced.
[0080]
Further, according to the copying machine system of the present invention (claim 2 ), since the display relating to the power saving control state is shared by the main control means and the option control means, the display is unified irrespective of the control means performing the display control. A status display can be provided.
[0081]
Further, according to the copying machine system of the present invention (claim 3 ), since the input relating to the power saving control is shared by the main control means and the option control means, unified operation can be performed regardless of the power saving control mode. The operation burden on the operator can be reduced.
[0082]
Further, according to the copying machine system of the present invention (Claim 4 ), since the transition stage of the power saving control mode is set based on the input of the operator, a system corresponding to the use environment of the operator regarding the power saving control is constructed. can do.
