【0001】

[Industrial applications]
The present invention relates to a recording / reproducing apparatus including a display unit in a main body of the apparatus.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For example, the main body of a video cassette recorder is provided with a fluorescent display tube (FLD) for displaying the current time, the remaining amount of tape, a receiving channel number, and the like. In response to a demand for power saving in recent years, a selection means for selecting ON / OFF of a power save mode relating to control of power supply to the fluorescent display tube is provided. The selection means includes, for example, a slide switch, a tact switch, or a means for selecting a selection item on a monitor using an on-screen display function (OSD) with a remote controller.
[0003]
When the power save mode is selected to be ON, the power supply to the fluorescent display tube is stopped in the power OFF state (the remote control standby state). Then, as shown in FIG. 6, the conventional video cassette recorder determines whether the power save mode is ON at the time of initializing (when the power plug is inserted into an outlet or the like) (step S31). ). When the power save mode is OFF (NO), display data (for example, clock data and the like) is set (step S32), and display is performed (step S33). On the other hand, when the power save mode is ON (YES), the display is stopped. That is, the power supply to the fluorescent display tube is stopped (step S34).
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, as described above, if the process of stopping the display when the power outlet is turned on while the power save mode is ON is selected, nothing is displayed on the fluorescent display tube, and the video cassette recorder fails. There was a risk that the user might mistakenly think that he was doing it.
[0005]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and has as its object to provide a recording / reproducing apparatus capable of preventing a non-display problem caused by a power save mode being selected to be ON.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to another aspect of the invention, an electronic apparatus includes: a display unit provided in an apparatus main body; and a selection unit for selecting ON / OFF of a power save mode related to control of power supply to the display unit. And control means for stopping the drive after driving the display means for a predetermined time when the power save mode is selected to be ON when power is supplied to the apparatus main body. .
[0007]
With the above configuration, the power save mode is selected to be ON when the microcomputer is initialized, such as when the power plug is inserted into an outlet, when power is restored from a power failure, or when all initial clear processing is executed. Even if the display means performs the display operation for a predetermined time, it is possible to prevent a misunderstanding that a failure occurs when nothing is displayed on the display means.
[0008]
Further, the electronic device of the present invention, when the power save mode is selected to ON, when operating the remote controller or the main body operation unit, the control means for driving the display means for a predetermined time and then stop driving. It is characterized by having.
[0009]
According to the above configuration, when the power save mode is selected to be ON, the drive of the display unit is stopped even in the power ON state (apparatus operation state). When the cassette tape removal operation is performed without knowing, a display such as "Recording is in progress" is performed on the display means for a predetermined time, so that an operation error or the like can be prevented. Further, for example, when the remote controller is operated to execute recording, if nothing is displayed on the display means, the user may misunderstand that the device is malfunctioning. Since the display operation (reception channel display, presence / absence of a cassette tape, etc.) is performed during the time, the recording operation can be performed without error as described above and without error based on the display.
[0010]
Preferably, when the display unit is driven for a predetermined time, a display indicating that the power save mode is ON is performed. As a result, the user can recognize that the display operation has been performed for such a predetermined time because the power save mode is selected to be ON.
[0011]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing a schematic configuration of a video cassette recorder of this embodiment, and FIGS. 2 to 4 are flowcharts showing processing contents.
[0012]
The microcomputer (microcomputer) 1 includes a CPU, an I / O circuit, a ROM, and the like. A control program for each control stored in the ROM and the CPU that executes these programs are used to control a system controller, a servo, and the like. , And a function as a timer.
